In the older games, Raiden wouldn't physically stand up when knocked down; he'd teleport into a standing position. I wish he still did that.

Well, that's because the hat caused problems in the footage. Carlos Pesina (who portrayed him) when tried to stand up the hat just ended up wrong or fallen down. Then they had to make a teleport animation to make Raiden to stand up, otherwise they had to stick with a helmet that hat or something.

Raiden’s “abayayaya!” scream originated when they were making the poses for the original MK game. Apparently to do the “electric fly” the actor for Raiden had to perch on a ladder and when he did, he accidentally put himself in a position that crushed his nutsack and testicles and he screamed as he did in MK1 Edit: they misspelled Raiden in Mk3
