@RaderizDorret2 жыл бұрын
Exactly: punch him in the nuts to get him to stop thinking/piss him off, set an ambush, finish the job. Hell, Goro was barely able to stand after that low blow so combine that with the surprise from the ambush and Johnny not letting up once his advantage is secured and this fight makes a lot of sense. Goro was portrayed here as relying solely on his inhuman endurance and power to bulldoze his enemies. Johnny short circuited that plan.
@sebfox21942 жыл бұрын
It was still plot armour though, in that Goro just stood around with his mouth open whilst Johnny delivered his cheesy line, before easily kicking his ass. If Goro was even half decent at fighting, then the weight and size difference alone should have been enough for him to easily crush Johnny. A good example of a dude using his brain to defeat a bigger stronger opponent is Daniel Craig's Bond vs Dave Bautista's Hinx in the movie: Spectre.

Fun fact: there was a legal dispute between game Cage's motion capture actor and the game studio that made MK. He did motion capture for a character in a rival (MK clone) fighting game and did advertising for it where he "brilliantly" called out MK as the inferior series. Sadly for him, he got black balled by the MK studio AND the game he was in flopped horribly. So when they went to make MK3, they nixes Cage's role in the series by killing him off, thereby no longer needing his actor and to also rub lemon juice and salt in the motion capture actor's wounds

Notice also that this scene is mirroring the beginning where he was filming the action-movie scene. Same music, same shots, same dialogue ("alright, let's dance...", "this is where you fall down") etc. It really was him getting over his ego and realizing his dream of being a true hero (which he was trying to achieve through his movies yet the press made fun of him). Goro crushing his glasses also "shatters his ego" and he realizes the stakes are real this time and it's no longer the same scene as in the beginning, and if he tries to mimic his movie-persona he'll lose.

Redzuan Hisham No it's a mixture of techniques including rubber costumes worn by an actor, in differnt versions with raised or lowered arms for some walking shots, just rubber arm/hand for some closeups like te glasses and the climbing scenes, and face shots are step-1 animated rubber/clay puppet. Final touch-ups in post production frame-by-frame with early digital 2D digital graphics. I worked years in practical effects back in 90s :-)

Sid Ali Dib this “back when” comments are getting ridiculous. Are you seriously saying that all movies “these days” have no charm at all?
@dzhardlife67704 жыл бұрын
@@yankeeforcestudios5431 I think they are using a lot of CGI almost like you're watching a videogame sequence, it's not even good CGI. Look at the Joker almost no CGI but it's the best movie I've seen lately.. also, pretty much the same actors are playing major titles, some of them are even making two movies in the same year, I mean what's that, are they selling potato chips or something!? Give some other poeple their chances and take the time to produce something good..
@yankeeforcestudios54314 жыл бұрын
Sid Ali Dib that’s because movies like Joker don’t need cgi as it’s much more grounded in reality and has less action than other movies. And while it may seem like you see a lot of the same actors in movies, but that may have something to do with genre. Let’s say you’re in to comedies, then many comedic movies include actors that are good with comedy. You might see him in a movie or two a year, but there’s still many different actors in the other genres. There’s also the fact that the movies done by studio’s with a lot of many can afford the best and most popular actors. These movies are also the ones that are the most mainstream. However, the movies made by smaller studios’s and filmmakers usually can’t afford that many big actors, and they also receive less attention because they’re mainstream.
