If you ok with 3rd party Planet X made an amazing foc shockwave that has great articulation and is extremely accurate

The Airraid version had the larger sword fold backwards in half and peg in in the same spot as the gun in vehicle mode, then had the smaller sword split its blade and fold back into a V that pegged on top of the gun.

You are correct! The first two waves of Generations FOC toys and first 3 waves of Prime RID were the absolute hardest hit by the budget cuts at the time.

The Air Raid version of the mold still has most of the arm cannon. It doesn't have the removable cannon barrel and the inner structure is double barreled instead of triple. The new folding sword can be handheld but attaches to the gun for vehicle mode - but the way it folds up prevents the vehicle mode from sitting flush on a flat surface. You can however peg the gun onto Air Raid's arm like Shockwave and attach the sword to the gun like a giant arm mounted scythe!

I personally really love this figure, despite its issues. Yeah, he should've been a Voyager, but he scales decently well with my 30th FoC Grimlock, so I'm fine with that. I also like the Air Raid version of the mold, especially the colors. Black, red, and gold always go hard.

oh heah, I have the arms micron version, really hoping we get a voyager shockwave version. mine has its stuckers that are starting to fall off. (althought, I kinda hope that the option to remove the wings and use them as axes will remain)

I recently sold this figure on. Neat little figure that suffers from being way way too skinny for a Deluxe, definitely one of the best modern Shockwave altmodes to me.

The only redeeming factor the toy had was that it was a G1 adjacent Shockwave when we hadn't had one up to that point. Otherwise, it didn't have anything going for it - especially having come off of the 2010 Generations era, and how good things were. Maybe a modern re-do would actually achieve the goal of being a UPGRADE to the original.

5:15 Soundwave does have a voyager mold in the FOC toyline. The Takara version is very accurate

Another thing you can do with this shockwave is take the gun barrel off and on his butt is a port for storage. Youre left with a triple barrelled gun, its probably hasbros attempt to replicate the gun switching in the game. Cool to see early concepts that are now just mainstream toy design.

While I did get the original dour WFC deluxe figures I completely skipped the FOC line as it did not look up to par with with what Hasbro was releasing at the time. Designs were all good but the toys felt a serious down grade. Shockwave here while being another Cybertronian space vehicle actually looks pretty cool kinda similar to how we saw him in Siege. I like how well his canon is not only weapons storage but incorporates seamlessly into the vehicle mode. Voyager would definitely be the way to go on am updated GE figure though right now I'm just super happy we're getting a SS conceptual Soundwave that looks great this year as I never got the Siege one.

I've got the air raid and honestly it's not as stable, it holds together alright but it's not satisfying and for some reason the square peg that attached to the butt isn't as good so it's quite wobbly, it also doesn't do the arm mounted thing properly cause a small part of the hand kinda pushes against the new remoulded Bayonet/blade thing and it kinda starts pushing it out so that makes that kinda wobbly

@5:00 the part with the gun is actually accurate to the The Autobot flyers enemy it's just the difference is this is a little bit more spread out I think what they were trying to do back then was just still trying to incorporate some of the guns into a lot of the figures which is toy line at the time yes was it had a very bunch of Hit or Miss but it's still good for what was but amazing video

It's Hasbruh. Of course they're gonna screw it up. And because of how badly they're gonna screw it up, it ain't really gonna make the original one obsolete at all. (Ex.: the only thing Optimus & Starscream have over their originals is size. Cool thing: Takara's version of FoC Shockwave came out during their Transformers Prime Arms Micron line, and as such, his funky triple-barreled cannon was an entire Arms Micron. Crappy thing: he really is a skimpity, scrawnily bitch. (And the FoC Voyager class Soundwave mold ain't great, due to having the stupid Tape Minion gimmick that almost never works correctly.)

I still prefer the original releases to these gamer editions. I picked up GE Barricade and while it kind of fits in with the small collection of FOC that I have, anything they have re done (Megatron Starscream, Optimus ect) I have taken a miss on.

This isnt even a bad figure at all, youre taking points off for bonus stuff like the basically impossible ankle tilt because of the thin legs, which is accurate to the damn game anyway. And its not like it cant stand without the ankle tilt in poses where the legs are split, because the heels are extended and cover a lot of surface area. You are also way too easily annoyed by a joint in the arms that doesnt even get in the way.
