He's always gracious and kind, even today after getting off a 22 hour flight back to Los Angeles he still stopped to sign autographs and take pictures with the all the US fans waiting for him at the airport. He even picked up one of the fans children and carried her through the airport and gave her his favourite Gucci sunglasses before he left.

Dimash truly is a very humble, kindhearted, humanitarian gentleman with a heart of compassion. I have read that he typically donates the flowers which are given to him to children who are in children's hospitals for cancer, leukemia, and other maladies. He has a heart of gold and a voice of platinum!

So true. Someone who remains a humble person and treats people with respect and kindness even though they are incredibly talented is a rare find. He once said that at some point he will have to step off the stage and sit in the audience and he does not want the person next to him to look him in the eye and tell him he behaved badly. He has also said the one thing he is afraid of is seeing disappointment in his parents eyes. He was raised to not put himself above others ever and from all accounts appears to be a very generous person. His entire family seems to be that way. Lovely people.

I listen to Dimash every day, and I cannot say that I am used to listen to him: each time, I feel an incredible emotion. I have a playlist with 20 versions of "Know" (probably my favorite Dimash song, the vocalise Arnau version is beyond words) and can listen to it during hours... His power is far beyond his insane vocal skills: he conveys so many emotions when he sings, each performance is, to him, THE performance, he gives everything on stage. This is probably why his relation with his fanbase is so strong: what matters for him is his art and his fans, not the money or the star system, he remains a so beautiful person, a deep soul loving his country, his family and fully dedicated to his will to transcend cultures, religions and borders for a better world. He is an absolute genius. Next ones? You may never get used to it! I still get my skin prickling when I hear certain notes. Dimash also likes to gives you a little surprise. If it isn't his off the scale high notes it's his low notes with vocal fry. If it isn't his opera voice it's his metal scream. If it isn't his ballads it's his MJ style pop. He introduces melismas, whistle notes, rap, breathy delicacy, powerful belting, rumbling growls. His music videos often have little things in the production that catch your eye or your ear if you pay close attention. He might catch you out or confuse you by singing certain lyrics over a video that is telling you the exact opposite in the story line. These are all things for you to discover and enjoy for yourself. Dimash did not win on that show, which is called "The Singer." The show had always been a singing competition for professional Chinese singers only. Dimash was the first foreigner, and the youngest to have been invited in the history of the show. None of the participants knew anything about him, not even what he looked like, he was considered a dark horse and not expected to make it past the second episode. After his 1st. performance, SOS, they had to provide bodyguards and had over 6 million followers on Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Instagram. He placed second but I believe it was to save face for the other Chinese contestants, who were 10-39 yrs. his senior with established careers. He remained in China for two yrs. to do concerts and recordings in the studio complete with state-of-the-art equipment. He is very humble and respectful. One of my favourites from Dimash (who am I kidding? I love anything Dimash performs!). The program in China was by invitation only and was The Singer - not the Voice - and participants were all professional singers. Rules at the time did not allow non-nationals to win so Dimash was awarded 2nd place. The rules changed for the subsequent year and a non- national won the next year. You never get use to it Wally, he stuns and shocks us all, all the time. And with each new song, comes new surprises and vocals. That stuttering sound is a Middle Eastern Death Chant, Dimash inserted it into this song as a tribute to the original singer that had passed away. The man standing at the end of the song applauding is Igor Krutoy. This was his first time seeing Dimash and later approached Dimash and his mother and father and offered to compose strictly for Dimash. Igor Krutoy was semi retired at the time, and a famous Russian composer. Dimash and family accepted, and the rest has been history. You will see Igor often at the piano, normally that means that Igor composed the song, but not always. And as always after Dimash performs, he thanks the band members and the audience. Dimash is one of a kind. The echo is probably the reverb on the microphone as for the tremolo on his voice, vocal coaches have been trying to explain it forever. Dimash also doesn't always have vocal acrobatics for every song, just the majority. But i love all his songs. Olympico is great, Samaltau, Love is Like a Dream. Those three songs are all very different sounding songs. Also he's got pop sounding songs like Screaming, Give Me Your Love, Fly Away and Zhalyn.

The band named A'Studio that accompanies Dimash, is the same one that composed the song minus the lead singer named Batyrkhan Shukenov, who died of a heart attack in 2015. The song was originally performed in 1998 and the lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, (the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash.) The tones in the middle are oriental Arab technique (or traditional qazaq singing, called Joqtaw. It is a lament to the deceased singer). The last run is 24 seconds on 1 breath.

Great reaction, thanks. It is really hard to suggest just one or ten songs to react to. There are so many great songs that you need to hear. But I think you should wait a little longer before you reacts to The Story of One Sky. I suggest you to go back in time to the period he participated in the Singer 2017. I recommend Opera 2, Daybreak, Autumn Strong, Adagio, Confessa and the Diva Dance. Can't wait for the next week

Hi. First, pausing and replaying the section where he was using his throat Like a bouncing ball, great analogy, was wonderful. Too many people go right past it. Second, you may not ever get used to him doing what he does. I'm a 62 year-old male, professional musician and singer. Dimash has changed my life. For four years now every night I listen to him sing SOS and sinful passion and watch reactions. I've probably heard both songs thousands of times plus his other music. I cry every night listening to these songs and seeing reactions to people's lives being changed by his voice. I am so glad to be alive at this moment. I recommend Adagio. Yes, it would have been wonderful to be there. The tall bald man in the white shirt who gave a standing ovation at the end was impressed. So he met Dimash after the show. He is Igor Krutoy, a Russian/Ukrainian music composer, producer and performer. He went on to compose a number of great songs for Dimash (Olimpico, Stranger, Ave Maria) and to re-arrange a number of his classic songs (Love Is Like A Dream, Your Love, Love of Tired Swans).

Dimash did not actually win that contest in China, he came in second place because of the rules of the competition at the time. The rules have since been changed, but at the time only a Chinese singer could win.

He subsequently came out of retirement to compose songs for Dimash, and you start seeing him at the piano at many of Dimash's subsequent performances, including "Stranger", the first Dimash song your reacted to.

Dimash comes from a very traditional culture where respect of others, especially one's elders, is the norm. He was also taught that 'with great gifts comes great responsibilities', and he takes this very seriously. You will see that he is a proud ambassador of his country's music and culture, and that he also uses his increasingly global reach to convey humanitarian and anti-war messaging. Dimash trained not only in classical and all genres of contemporary music, but also in many types of traditional vocalisations. That melisma / trill that you heard was a traditional Kazakh mourning vocalisation which he inserted (without notice} into the song, as a mark of respect to the original singer/ songwriter of this Kazakh band; A-Studio. Sinful Passion was co-composed with that same pianist. # Correction. The Compere got it wrong; Dimash didn't win the 2017 Singer Competition in China, he came Runner-Up. Much to the very vocal outrage of many millions of his brand new Chinese Fans (Dears) It was a very big social media storm, which took some international diplomacy to settle! But that's a bigger story... meanwhile, essentially he did 'win' anyhow, because it became the launch pad into a much broader (than his previously mostly Eastern European) audience. # When it started to become an overwhelming 'thing', to be showered with flowers after each performance, Dimash asked that people instead could donate to any of the several charities he supports [ that you can find on his site - or on his Dimash News Page ] The flowers that he does receive, he cannot of course lug from hotel room to hotel room and so he donates to children's hospitals and aged care facilities, in whatever city he is in. Yes, he's a genuinely decent guy.

Igor Krutoy, the man in white shirt giving his standing ovation, invited Dimash to participate in this festival in the same year. "Sinful Passion" was created in 1998. This is how the song was performed, exactly in the 20th anniversary of this song. It speaks of greater love, greater loss, greater despair, greater desire, greater passion. The loss or lack of this love, in Dimash's interpretation, has the dimension of a loss of life, which one is very anxious to restore. The composer for this difficult song is at the piano. However, the song is not difficult for Dimash. The composer is Kazakh but lives in Russia and was delighted to have Dimash perform the song. This is Dimash's Russian premier. After this song Dimash was instantly invited to perform a concert at the Kremlin which he accepted. You can find the link to that concert, the first of many, on his official channel. You can also find the link to his first USA concert at the Barkley Center in New York. I went and he has such a strong voice it does carry echo's. He had people from all over the world come to his first performance at the Kremlin. (Actually, people from all over the world go to as many of his concerts as they can. I hope he performs his new concert, Stranger, in the US asap. He is currently in LA studying and coming up with more surprises. I have watch Dimash since I discovered him in 2017. He still surprises me every time. The man is a genius!
