The Naon no Yaon festival is an annual event produced by the iconic all female Japanese band Show-Ya who started in the 80s and are still active today. The woman who introduced them at the beginning is Keiko Terada, vocalist for Show-Ya. The festival features strictly female performers and is meant to bolster female musicians. Nemophila is playing at Naon no Yaon again this year.

Just look at HARA...she's living her best life, and the chemistry this band has is their magic. NEMOPHILA is hitting 2022 with everything they've got. NAONのYAON appearance in Apr (looking forward to more YT MVs). DVD release of their 9 Jan Shibuya Public Hall live concert coming in May. Zepp concert series they lined up with five Japanese legend bands in Jun (NEMOPHILA x LOUDNESS will be live streamed !! ). Three new singles to release starting Jun. AFTERSHOCK US Tour in Oct. Not to mention the covers they put out constantly. This band is hungry and shooting straight to the top. 🌸✨🌠

@idi0t I know SAKI is trying to get there. SAKI replied to Tweet that she wants to go to Europe soon. Could definitely see she was disappointed that she couldn't confirm more tours or US dates while they will be here for AFTERSHOCK at the last announcement stream they did. Did you see that post on their new Global FB page? They confirmed they will not be touring with BAND-MAID, but they are working on a tour of their own. Another announcement stream is coming soon with some good news for us I hope.

Couple of points, love every member of this band but in this video just adore Haraguchi-San, the look of pure joy every time you see her is amazing. Funny you mentioned Herman Li, Saki was on his Twitch stream and shredded just as well as Herman the whole time.

*Fun Fact:* On this day, both Saki (guitarist) & Tamu Murata (drums) had double duty. Saki performed with her other band (Mary's Blood) & Tamu filled in playing drums (via sheet music) for another band. Their drummer was out for maternity leave.

That's the thing about Nemophila's set-up - both Saki and Hazuki are meant to be equals. Heck, from the way they've been playing their songs, they *accept* that they're meant to be equals. Personally, I'm good with that. Yeah!

Yep! They can do it live! A damn fine band and yet another superb and unique sounding female vocalist from Japan, along with the likes of Babymetal's SuMetal, Band-Maid's Saiki and Lovebites' Asami.

Very glad you returned to Nemophila and especially the live performance of this song. Excited they are playing at Aftershock this fall. Hope it means a more extensive US tour in 2023 or 2024. Band-Maid dipped their toes in the US in 2019 with just 4 shows. Now they are doing Aftershock and then 11 cities. I am seeing Band-Maid in Dallas and can't wait till October 21. You should check out some of Nemophila's covers that they performed live in their studio. I recommended their cover of Aces High previously and I am sticking with it. It was the first video I saw of Nemophila because Aces High is one of my favorite Iron Maiden songs. I was already very familiar with Band-Maid, Lovebites and other Japanese female bands, so I had high hopes. The performance exceeded my high expectations for two reasons - 1) mayu sang the hell out of that song and has more pure rock grit than any female Japanese singer I have heard (the Japanese Lzzy Hale?) and 2) I was very pleasantly surprised to see Saki in the band because I was already a fan of her from watching Mary's Blood. In fact, do a double reaction - Aces High and their cover of KISS's Detroit Rock City. If you aren't totally in love with them now, you will be after those two. Enjoy!

I'll be at the Band-Maid show in Dallas as well, and as much as I do love Band-Maid, I'd throw those tickets out the window to see Nemophila. 😝 Of course not really, but you know what I mean. Nemophila are new and fresh and unlike anything else out there. They're gonna take over the world.🤘🤘🤘

Loving your reaction, great observations as ever. NEMOPHILA is just peerless of course. Unique dynamics twinned with insane talent and awesome personalities and sincerity. By the way, also just ear out for that rhythm section's groove complimenting those solos. Tamu and Hara-chan are equally awesome (well, one just cannot help but be besotted with Haraguchi-san 😍🤣)... Oh and if you love the metal, punk mix you need more Maximum the Hormone for sure🤘

I think the reason they can bring it live like this even without an audience is that they play for each other as much as anything. You can see it in their interactions onstage. The chemistry in this band is kind of magical.

since someone already explained what festival they were playing at i would love to say both of their guitarists are probably in the top 5 best in japan however Saki who was stage left with the red hair is the far better player she is atleast in my opinion the greatest guitarist in japan but most people put her in the top 2 please let me know what you think

To be fair, a part from their covers, their live stuff that's on their YT channel is not of that high quality... The livestream they did on January had much higher quality! They are improving on that!

Yes live they are superb the last live was with fans although they weren't aloud to shout or sing just clap and hum loudly waving led lights under covid restrictions. It was still one of the best concerts i have seen and coming on Blu ray soon .They have tons of fun and realy go for it on stage .As for Guitarists i think fans would say Saki just edges it on the shred O meter LOL if your subbed to Herman Li's twitch go see her on there with him ,Mined blowing .
