From the midpoint on is heavy metal perfection - such an incredible soft breakdown with piano and acoustic guitar, a beautiful ballet and snowflake visual, and then an absolute explosion of sound with bass, drum, and Midori's epic guitar solo, and to top it all off Asami comes back in with this blast of emotional and powerful vocals - just WOW WOW WOW! My favorite Lovebites song and now you see why.

Their MASTERPIECES are never over produced, done just right to ensure the viewer's heart skips a beat or two or holds a breath little longer than usual as they take in the experience. The saddest part for me, I'll never get to experience this for the first time again, but the wonderful part is watching reactors (like YOU) experiencing it for the 1st time. For me, it NEVER gets old watching 1st reacts to this epic performance. Thank you for coming back to my favorite band of all time!

That is Lovebites Mk 1 at their absolute peak. I believe Mk2 will take us to musical places we can’t yet imagine. My favourite part is the ballet sequence and Asami’s melodramatic slow walk down the steps. Ballet, in metal. Only Lovebites. And that’s why they now own this genre. Many people rate this in the top two or three Lovebites songs, when forced to do the almost impossible and rank them. No male band could either perform the song or for certain do so with such grace. They’re the best. No argument.

Asami's ballet studies sure come to the fore in this video! What gets me is Harauna's non-stop double bass! It's in every song through out the whole concert! She must have Bionic calves!!!

I'd really like to know if Asami did an actual part from a real ballet in that little interlude, or did she just apply some artistic license with her dance skills? I know that in 'Swan Song', at the end, she was performing the dying swan scene, from 'Swan Lake'. Or so I read somewhere.

@@785boats Yes she danced elements of the dying swan in Swan Song. That was the dance made famous by legendary ballerina Anna Pavlova although it was originally not part of the choreography of Swan Lake. It was only later incorporated into the ballet in some interpretations. Obviously she can't exactly reproduce classical ballet while wearing high heels but certainly her dance in this song seems to be founded on traditional ballet technique.

I am always impressed that Miyako, who in 4+ months pregnant at this concert, takes only two seconds from sitting playing the last note on the piano to standing and playing the guitar.

It gets me every time. Even though I know what's coming I can't withstand it. By the time Midori plays that heart rending run on the acoustic, they break me. I mean it causes my allergies to flare up at that precise moment. It's quite odd indeed.😌🤘🏾🤘🏾This band has no Peer. The sky is the limit.

How many true masterpieces are there in the history of rock? A dozen? Maybe twenty? I would name “A Day in the Life” by the Beatles; “The End” by the Doors; “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen; “Kashmir” by Led Zeppelin; “Layla” by Derek and the Dominoes; “Starless” by King Crimson; “Ghost Love Score”, by Nightwish… and maybe a handful more. What they have in common, of course, is gorgeous songwriting and great musicianship--but other great songs have those things too. For me what separates masterpieces from merely great songs, is they tell a story, taking you through a range of emotions until they overwhelm you. Few rock groups have ever produced a masterpiece, and even some of the greatest never managed it. Lovebites, in five short years, have given us several. For me this rivals “Swan Song” as their greatest.

A Frozen Serenade is a pure masterpiece from so many aspects. I think I could write a text book on all the elements of it. Dare I write this? Comfortably Numb, Bohemian Rhapsody, Stairway To Heaven and now A Frozen Serenade! I know there are some who will disagree but in my musical world this rates right up there.
