The first thing I did when I saw this was out was to check if Gameranx put out a video, since you all have the best way of breaking down what I'm looking for in a game and what would be dealbreakers. I wound up giving it a shot before this video dropped after hearing it was something like the spookier spots of Fallout + Base Building, with darker more story driven gameplay, but your review is exactly what I've been experiencing. Paint chipping in the exact same places as the real thing. This reminds me of pre-AAA game companies when every game was produced by a small group of devs putting their all into a game to make it as good as possible BEFORE releasing it. This isn't my genre of game, but I enjoyed the detail, storyline and the fact that we still have options for games that are not monopolized by AAA companies that turn their main released game into a pay-to-beta-test game that is later fixed with patches AFTER you gave them your money. Maybe this game will inspire others to break into detailed storyline games with suspense and quality of visuals... and we will finally break through the barriers that gave us Fallout 76 and other recent roll-out flops.

Big Metro fan here. This looks cool but I'm worried the split focus of RPG/Survival/Strategy will make it just ok and not outstanding in any of them. man, it’s good to see a survival-esque game that doesn’t feel obligated to be fully open-world

@James Alexander not everything with artistic merit needs to be an open world game lol and good thing it’s on gamepass if that’s how you really feel

Big question. Do you recommend Chernobylite if you enjoyed the Stalker games? I know they are different but i think i kinda like the setting.

I bought this game the second it released on Steam. I'm about 2 hours in and I'm absolutely LOVING it. It absolutely NAILS the feeling on the wastelands of Chernobyl.

Ive been following this game for a while now and Im so glad it turned out good. I hope it sells really well and that they make lots of dlc for it because my body is ready.

Bought day one. Only have a few hours in so far. Game mechanics are simple enough. Definitely agree, it is a breath of fresh air that it isn't completely open world... ... but there is enough freedom ( in the stages and things to do ) that it isn't really linear. Building is simple. Like he said the story ( so far ) has kept me interested and decisions, decisions, decisions. Can't wait to do a complete playthrough to see everything this game is hiding.

Honestly this game is peacefully delightful.. I lose track of time just building up my base and reorganizing it, I'm a big fan of rainy weather and when I'm hanging out at the base looking out over the landscape on a cloudy day.. I just feel relaxed.
