I appreciate every person whoever went out of their way to make guides for us. I remember as a kid going onto Game Faqs and looking up guides there to help me on whatever game I played. It really showed how the gaming community back then was much more constructive and helpful to one another. No one got paid for it, no one was sponsored nor had any ads. Just a solid gamer willing to put time to help other gamers, ones they'll probably never meet in person like myself. Thank you all!

I have so much respect for modders. From games like Skyrim to Cities Skylines and even Stardew Valley, I have spent many more hours on the game thanks to the incredible mods people and groups have created. The dedication and skill they have is unbelievable and game companies should offer these guys jobs because in a lot of cases they have a lot more talent and/or passion towards the game. That being said the parent companies are hugely to blame for time constraints but give people passionate to a project and wonderful things will happen.

Currently playing the Switch remake of "Digital Magical World 2" with a 3 year old and the only thing out there are two item/collection guides written by one single person 6 years ago for the 3DS version (with both Japanese and English translations). They also were the one answering all the questions on the forum. Truly amazing dedication.

Reminds me of when GTA online heists were still relatively new. I happened to join 3 other players who had mics. After the prison break heist, we went to humane labs. I think I know what you’re talking about. That’s the one where they have Superman fighting doomsday in a demo right? That looked pretty great. However these AAA companies keep on avoiding superman and they have this ridiculous obsession with Batman. 9 Batman games? Dude that’s enough. Give superman or the flash a turn.

With technology we have now, i fully expect a superman game at some point. They say it’s hard not to make him feel overpowered, but that’s exactly what they should lean into. There are plenty of games that strive off making you feel so powerful like God of War, DOOM, and Asura’s Wrath come to mind.
@Steel-1012 жыл бұрын
@@raidengoodman8754 you see that’s what I find funny. A lot of gamers just love the whole overpowered nature of certain protagonists in stories. Then when you introduce Superman, they get all angry and complain about how overpowered he is. Then they say “he’s not Batman”. The gaming community can be very confusing sometimes. Lol 😂. The thing is in a way, even Batman is overpowered. A 30 your old man that breaks the human strength limit(even when he hits his 40s), his intelligence is very high(higher than Luthor) and he has a back up plan for everything. Oh and he can survive a fight with Superman. Seriously he didn’t die when Superman threw him through a building in Dawn of Justice. Dude that is overpowered lol 😂

I've heard that another problem indie devs face is in game length. Steam has a refund cut off time of two hours played regardless of game length. If your game can be played from start to finish in under two hours it doesn't matter how good your game is. People will leave glowing reviews but refund the game anyway because they can. Many indie devs have quit after their first title or two after this happened to them.

I used to make building tutorials for Ark: Survival Evolved. That took some serious dedication. I'd experiment with ways to trick building mechanics, once I came up with something good I'd build it over and over and over to work out bugs and make it as easy to recreate as possible. Then I'd have to record, edit and voiceover in a way that meant everyone could follow along. One example is a video I made of how to hide behemoth dino gates into a decent looking castle entrance. The video was 20min long, it took about 2 months to perfect how to do it. Then it took a couple of weeks to record and edit. If you want to see dedication then check out Captain Fatdog. He cracked how to make proper round buildings with square building pieces and fence foundations. He actually sat down with pen and paper to figure out how to do it!

Achievement guide a different skillset than a walkthrough. It one thing to make it through the game and another thing to get all trophies/achievements in the less amount of time.

This video reminded me of the stacks of paper I had with printed guides for games like Final Fantasy VII and Ocarina of Time lol. All the way back when I first fell in love with gaming

People make guides for games because cooperation for mutual benefit is built into who we are as a species. You write a guide for a game you know, someone else writes a guide for a game they know, and before long you have a thriving collection of guides for any game you might need help with. People make mods because creating art is also built into who we are as a species, and it's more fun to work with a medium you enjoy, whether it's paint, marble, or DOOM.

I don't think I'd be able to finish any action or open world game without a game guide to help me out when I'm lost about something. The walkthrough for the last of us was my Bible while I played through it.

I was raid leader for a top guild on the server I played on. It was hectic. Though being a healer made it easy to make sure people weren't messing up for stupid reasons

Man I miss guides! My favorite guide was for final fantasy 6! It had beautiful writing and art man! If I remember correctly it had mog on the cover and he was leaning on his cane I believe. :)

Shoutout to the person who made a guide for Digimon World 3. Without you I would have never made it out the desert.

I'd like to add the original machinima shows and red vs blue, etc. It takes a lot of dedication to create an entire amount of lore and story based off of a video game and doesn't contradict the original lore.

I could never be a streamer, mostly because I want to enjoy and immerse myself in a game. It's so difficult for me to split my attention and try to be entertaining while not dying in a game. Major respects to anyone who can

I’ve been emailing Rocksteady this for a few years at this point. But since KZbin is the one place where people steal ideas or seem to help people get their ideas out there, I’ll share this here. I love Superman. And have since I could remember. A great Superman game would consist of this, enemies suited up in green Kryptonite armor with Kryptonite ray guns. Red Sun suits with enemies brandishing Red Sun bats with spikes, Guns with Red Sun bullets. And white Gravity suited enemies that also brandish gravity guns as well. And let’s also add magic into the mix of enemies as well. Lex Luthor will be responsible for the first 3. As for the magic that can be implemented with other enemies. Let’s say you start the game and before you fight, a tutorial pops up explaining the different enemies you’ll be facing. And as one of the enemies shoots you, another tutorial pops up explaining how it weakens Superman. Now once you start fighting, the more enemies that are beat, Superman GRADUALLY gets stronger as there’s not enough enemies surrounding him to make him weak. Each fight he has, he should be nerfed by these enemies until he defeats all of them and regains his strength. Getting stronger when 5 to 10 out of 30 enemies are defeated. Similar to the Arkham series wherein when you defeat more enemies the more takedowns you can do. But instead of takedowns, you can use his other abilities, ie heat vision, super breath, freeze breath, speed etc. Other enemies should be included as well. Such as Parasite enemies which could nerf Superman and suck some of his power out of him. Brainiac enemies that can weaken him due to mental attacks and Metallo enemies that also have Kryptonite in their bodies to weaken him. Making the combat system difficult but rewarding as again, Superman will gain strength with each enemy defeated. Now if you wanted to add stealth, how about we do this, there’s bases similar to the Arkham series. But these bases will be filled with Kryptonite. Superman’s cape is said to have abilities that protect him, hence why he was sent to earth with it. So let’s say the Kryptonite at these bases is filled with Kryptonite poisonous gas. So Superman will enter them and take his cape off, he will then wrap around his head to protect him from inhaling in the poisonous Kryptonite gas. The cape will look like a Balaclava when he does this. And in stealth you can use a wide array of his abilities to take down enemies, such as freeze breath. Heat vision and so on. Traversal can be a leveling system. RPGish type elements similar to Spiderman and Dark Souls. Where you can gain points in some way to level him up. The story can go either way, where YOU the player make the choices. You can take the Injustice route or the classic Superman route. Either way it’s up to YOU. All this and more can be added into a Superman game. All this can happen. I love Superman. He and my father are my idols. I moved to the state SUPERMAN was created in, just to be closer to him. He deserves this. We ALL deserve this. It’s his time now. People say it’s impossible. It’s not, you just don’t love him enough. You just don’t know enough about him. You need to LOVE Superman if you’re to make a game, film, comic. You gotta LOVE him passionately as I do. Passionately as his fans do and as passionately as Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster did. I ranted. But I’m tired of people saying he’s just OP and boring. Use your head and learn about him. There’s so much to him. Please someone get this out to Rocksteady. I don’t want money or employment or anything from them. I just want Superman to be respected and seen as cool just like Batman is.

Each sub dedication focuses needs to make things right even if I am not a collector not a speedrunner (I do enjoy the games on their natural pace) but these things are somewhat needs to show to the devs that their game is worth the amount of money and time for those people. The ultimate goal is you start playing a game, do everything what was spoken in the video and in the end you make your own corporation-publisher to help other players to make their games. That's in my book the ultimate cycle of this industry.
