They could do this style of game with so many IP's and it would work incredibly well. A lot of animes that typically have a fighting game already linked to them would do well with a beat-em-up. Superhero franchises would be successful as well

I'm 31 this is perfect and immediately took me back to being a kid playing this on the weekend with my brother. Couch Co-op is a sorely lacking genre in games today an 6 players on screen at one time with my cousins is definitely something I look forward to. 9.5/10 I wish it had an extra mode or two with some extra mini games or for a Mario party element but I adore it

As an older gamer, this game speaks right to me. Raphael has always been my favorite, and I enjoyed leveling him up to ten on my first(nonstop) play through of the game. Finding all the collectibles throughout the game adds a personalized touch each time you pick one up. Some of the collectibles even give a throwback to the old series and the goofy moments that made the show fun.

TMNT the original arcade game was one of my absolute favourites back when I was a kid and that machine got all my quarters. I always picked Raphael. He had the shortest weapon range, but he had that sweet roll attack move. This game looks like it will perfectly scratch that nostalgia itch.

That one is my favourite arcade ever, it was so loud! I remmember listening the explosions as soon as I got in the arcade; I personally went for reach with Donatello, but one of my brothers used Raphael and was the better player.

This was always a day one purchase for me. I was on Steam at about 3am and was like “Oh, yeah! Turtles comes out today.” I couldn’t get it that early, and I almost forgot later that day. Played through the campaign on normal. Game definitely captures the nostalgia from the games we played back in the day. I know there is arcade mode, but I wish there was an additional mode like a boss rush or something. Either way the game is fun. I really like the music too.

@@flavoredwallpaper I think we'd enjoy the gameplay, but for example I was disappointed when I got to play Metal SLug (which I had known only from arcades) on a console. The ability to just endlessly CONTINUE killed any challenge and also revealed how painfully short it is. I have no problem with a short game, if, for example, a "lives" limit means you need several attempts to learn it and finally get from start to finish on your Xth try. But if a game is short but allows you unlimited CONTINUEs or just has checkpoints, it may be not worth my money.

@@robertchmielecki2580 There is an "arcade mode" where it's very traditional: you have limited lives and go from level to level until you beat the game or it beats you. And there is also a "story mode" where you have unlimited lives and there are some other features, like a world map, some collectables/challenges, etc. I think this game was made by people who truly loved the old-school tmnt arcade game, so they had people like you in mind when they made it.

@@prodigy84bg arcade if you're a old school beat'em up player like me. It just hits you just right. They got it all right. Plus it gives you that euphoria of being a kid again in the arcade wishing that your NES could have graphics and music like this. This is why you save your quarters or ask mom for some extra so you can spend it on this. Story mode isn't bad at all either. It's really nice and fresh! Gives you that TMNT NES vibe of driving around New York. Or even Dick Tracy or Roger Rabbit above driving nostalgia. Go where you want. Do missions out of order. Side quests. Replay ability really shines here.

One of my biggest issues with beat em ups. Having to focus on aligning your character when the camera is pitched and not top down is kind of jarring. It's a weird in between of 2D and top down. I think lowering the pitch of the camera and allowing for diagonal movement would be better in general. The visuals would suffer though I guess.

This game is beyond radical dude! Absolutely one of my most anticipated titles of 2022 and straight to Gamepass is even better still will end buying it just to support the development and sheer passion put into it. I'm a newer TMNT Fan 03-12 era but love the franchise and a "beat em up" game that builds on Turtles in Time and the other one Hyper Heist or something like that even I can see how fantastic this is, Shredders Revenge really captures the magic and feel of those titles extremely well done. The animations, roster that I would have been completely satisfied with the 4 turtles but that April reveal made me realise my complete stupidity having more characters in this case is far better she looks siiick and I like the take on her jumpsuit, splinter looks OP as he should and CASEY JONES looks really fun to play the environments/interactive backgrounds, Sound effects and soundtrack are amazing can't wait to play with the world's most fearsome fighting team cowabunga indeed booyakasha! XD SO EXCITED Especially for 6 player co-op online and local hell yeah.

Someone tries it for free, likes it, spreads the word, then the person purchases the game when they may not have before their gamepass friend said anything

I remember these games being in actual arcade cabinets where pizza places actually had arcade rooms or arcade parlors had hundreds of arcade cabinets where I’d spend hours on hours playing at. Ninja turtles was always the one that always drew my attention and always had random people jumping in and dumping a few quarters with me. Never did beat that game til I found a mod on my computer years later. The old Super Nintendo ninja turtle games were along the same vein of gameplay and it’s always been fun. This looks like more of the same and now there’s 6 player coop? Me and my kiddos are gonna have so much fun when I induce them with some good ole nostalgia.

Gonna be honest here. I wasn't born around the late 80s/90s era. But that doesn't mean I couldn't experience the goated tmnt arcade beat em ups. I'm an 03 kid, but I was still able to experience the greatness of the classic arcade game. I’m just impressed that after all these years and pizzas eaten, those turtles are still cut and laying waste to baddies. I have not aged nearly as gracefully since I was a kid in the mid-80’s, and I didn’t eat nearly as much pizza.

This is turtles in times successor. Glorious, turtle, action. I'm 33 and I feel like a kid again playing it, the nostalgia is literally seeping through the walls. Classic and new enemies, deeper everything, that music tho, oh my God the music.

This doesn't just get everything right from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Beatemups, but the innovations taken from other Konami beatemups like The Simpsons Arcade (Team attacks) and X-men (6player mode)... it even gets that feel oh so close to the SNES version of Turtles in time for hit connection (hard to explain, but essentially it feels like stuns last a natural time vs the arcade where enemies almost bounce back right away after a hit). It gets the feel of playing through episodes of the show the first 2 arcades got so perfectly. It needs to be said though that this game is for those of us who grew up in the 90s who wear thick prescription nostalgia glasses but I think the solid gameplay offers enough for today's kids who are getting into beatemups, and to hold up to 2 arcade machines that are probably responsible for taking enough quarters from us in the 90s to buy one of those machines if we put them aside instead of going to the arcades... definitely an easy recommendation for beatemup fanatics.

Love this game so much. Its so freaking fun to just keep replaying. This for sure took the top spot for best turtles game to date. Close second Turtles In Time. Ralph is my favorite but I think I actually have the more fun being Mikey. Love his throwback taunt as well

In the town my mom and I were in when I was a little kid, there was a skating rink that had a TMNT arcade game. I played it as much as I could, but kind of forgot about it over the years. When I saw this game it brought back so many memories.

First game that i played with my whole family, my 4 year old daughter and a wife who does not like playing video games. And we’re all having so much fun. Just poking fun at our daughter grabbing all the pizzas when we both desperately need it, her laughing her heart out while getting electrecuted, having to replay the shredder fight for what seemed like an eternity. This game will hold a very special place in my heart, just like the old arcade ones that me and my brother and cousin used to play way back then.

The Turtles in Time remake on the PS3 sucked so much ass, I couldn’t my finger on why.. it was the reduced levels, the new sound track, the graphics weren’t the same… I bought it because of nostalgia then learned about emulators to revisit the glory of the original.

I was 5 when the TMNT cartoon originally came out and I'm very excited for the Cowabunga Collection so I can play all those old NES, SNES, Sega, Gameboy and arcade games on my xbox but in the mean time this game scratches that old school itch...its really good IMO

I LOVE this game, I love all the turtles. As a kid I got the left over turtle Michaelangelo, as an adult again got the left over turtle Raphael, but the one that gets that extra point for me is Leonardo. He is the blue one... BLUE!!!

even in my days in the early 2000s the Ninja Turtles were still pretty popular! I remember owning a huge Raphael figure and I would play with the ninja sai that came with it because it was almost to scale haha. That and also owning a ton of action figures! Anyways, downloading rn on gamepass.

I was born in the late 90s, so my experience with 80s & 90s fighting games and beat em up games is very limited. This looks so good, I absolutely love the pixel art design, and the gameplay looks like a lot of fun! Dotemu did an incredible job making this resemble the games from the 80s & 90s.
