I remember a version where Misao didn't just have her pictures taken, but was assaulted in the bathroom my a male student. And the MC hid from the mad guy with a chainsaw in an actual human body. Plus Misao's body parts were all over the school, hidden. Not yet sure how I feel about the revamp, I need to see a walkthrough first. But it already feels watered-down.

You are correct. But I believe the devs changed it to something that makes a bit more sense; finding body parts, while gruesome and somewhat darkly funny, didn't make a whole lot of sense except Misao's hands. The teacher was interested in her hands and lied about seeing Misao as he murdered her and hid her. So having multiple body parts would be a bit too revealing and kinda takes the seriousness of Misao's murder and disapperance right out despite this game being a dark comedy in certain parts. Finding stuff like her phone or shoes make a lot more sense in the standpoint of the mystery of her disappearance/death.

Same. At first I didn't understand what actually happened in the game. Till a couple months or a year later I came back to this game watched it again and realized what actually happened in this game. I remember crying for Misao, my heart hurt so much for her. She didn't deserve what happened at all. Though what the kids did was horrific, I don't believe they deserved to die horrifically as well. I do agree with them getting redeemed again, I do think they should have faced severe consequences for what they did to her. The teacher is irredeemable though. He was willing to harm and kill a student, he also proved that he would be willing to do it again. He is evil, super evil, no matter how sympathetic he seems in his backstory, no excuse for his evil actions.

I still can't effing believed that I enjoyed this game, alongside Mad Father, with a big smile before. I was an insensitive mtfeffer back then, recollecting this summary of the games made me feel sick. 🤮 Thank you for making the video and shedding a closer explanation. If I hadn't seen this pop up in my recommendations, I'll probably carry this to my life thinking that everything I've played in this game is no life-changing and enjoyed it as an insensitive person.

I think it is more naivety and innocence. This game has parts that are very on the nose while a lot is pretty under the radar. Especially if you're young and don't actually know what is actually going on, what people are actually saying or getting at, or what some words actually mean, or situations actually and incidents really entail. So depending on your age I just think you were naive not cold hearted. Most of what happens in the game probably just went over your head. I know for me it definitely did. Till I got older and watched it again, then I fully realized what actually took place and just how dark this game was. It is a great game, but boy is it so disturbing and dark. It's like a more intriguing Corpse Party. Especially since it might actually be connected to other RPG Maker games. It's a cool while also deeply disturbing game series. That, the Hanger Man, The Mermaid Swamp, and Dust. Such good RPG story games.
