In the original, the only alternative was to wait for Annette and HOPEFULLY not bleed out! In the remake, he was just a salty bastard!

This is why Resident Evil 0 was such a missed opportunity by Capcom. That should have been the whole game, the final hours of the STARS Bravo team inside of the mansion. Instead we got more of the Spencer family soap opera nonsense and the game was essentially Rebecca Chambers ft. Billy Coen. Richard was a good dude. They all were.

Billy was just the new excuse by Capcom to disregard the first game's narrative of people being attacked in the Arklay mountains and why the STARS Bravo team went missing in the Forrest. It was also the reason why the Spencer family crap was introduced. The BRAVO team got screwed over both by Capcom and by the retcon of the story.

I'm going to be honest... Operation Raccoon City gave me a reason to understand why people don't just aim for the head in those apocalypse scenarios. When you're surrounded and under pressure it's a lot easier to hit the body (a larger target) with several rounds than to hit the head (A much smaller and sometimes more mobile target with how the zombononos sway when they walk). If you're able to sneak up on some zombozos or have a decent bit of distance between you and (at most) a small group of them then a headshot shouldn't be all too difficult to achieve.

The last 65% of re4 is why I don't aim for the head. I'd rather use two more rounds in the torso than have to shoot a wildly swinging/crawling/decapitating plaga 6 more times while I'm still being swarmed by villagers/cultists/etc. I know it can still happen with body shots, but it feels like it's more infrequent.

You weren't kidding when you said these videos would be detailed and damn it is, but in a great way. I like that you are gonna weave together alternate paths, choices and games that are considered non-canon to the series. This first part was certainly interesting, learning about the rise of umbrella, it's founding fathers and how ultimately, there hunger for power would become there downfall when Marcus Unleashed the T-virus. Gonna look forward too part 2: City of the dead. There's gonna be a shit ton of things to cover considering that raccoon city has appeared more times then any other location in the RE series. It was this event that exposed umberlla to the world, umbrella trying to cover it's tracks, the survivors trying to escape, a female spy sent to retrieve the G-Virus and worst of all, the city is overrunned by zombies, bio-weapons, tyrants, William G and worst of all, The nemesis T-Type. Like I said, a whole lot to cover, gonna be interesting to see how you put it all together.

Rebecca had more experience than anyone in the beginning of the RE series. She survived the facility and the woods and the mansion. She’s the only true vet and Capcom refuses to use her. Why? They could make a grounded serious game of her getting out of raccoon city in 1998. Something before re 3 and in between re 2. It could show the city turning to shit in the beginning and watching people panic. This could really give Capcom a true reason to go back to the beloved raccoon city 🌃

It's a shame Capcom never used her in more games. But, now that Leon and Chris are becoming old as hell, Capcom has no choice but to use new main characters for future games soon. I'm hoping they bring Rebecca and Billy back, hell, even Jill! But, who am I kidding. After RE7, it's clear Capcom doesn't really give a damn about the pre-established lore, lol.Chris was only fanservice. They're starting to focus more and more on the mainstream audience, which leaves less room to experiment like they used to. Part 1 should be summed up as Corruption. This is where it all began... how Umbrella was founded by three people and how absolute power corrupts and drives those that desire more, especially the likes of Ozwell E. Spencer. At the same time this also introduces us to the many players in the tale such as Rebecca, Chris, Jill, Wesker and others. The players all have their roles and everything that would happen in 1998 would set in motion that would shape the franchise.

@@SenorGuina I don't think it's just nostalgia. Due to the graphical limitation, the developers have to come up with something good to make it more appealing. For example, Resident Evil 3 hasn't aged well graphically wise, but the fact that Nemesis chases you around the areas where not even going to the next one won't cause him to instantly lose him (provided he saw you using the door) makes him threatening, specially when he is much more aggressive than Mr. X and actually camps the save room door if he sees you entering it (He can have a minigun or a rocket launcher!). Playing it today i was actually scared of him and throuough numerous RE games we only got something similar to it in Resident Evil 2 Remake with Mr. X but a little less agressive (and i think RE7 also had that). From RE4 to RE6 all we had were games that were more into action than actually scare us and even if it did, it's just a small pinch.

My theory is Online Gaming has wrecked gaming. Why did Capcom remake Resident Evil 2 now? It's because multiplayer online gaming is toxic. Why play games with or against fucking morons when you don't have to and people forget that, you never had to. But that's just like my opinion man.

Thief's Alexander Mansion, Unreal 1's Na Pali world, World interaction in Duke Nukem 3D, Dismemberment feature in Chasm The Rift.

Dude you completed this docu series, I thought like most people you'd cut this project short but nah you went the full length! Much respects man!!! You're the only one (I think) that's willing to put this much effort and dedication to lay out the RE lore chronologically in video format. I've tried documenting RE lore as well, only in MS word, but I gave up right after the Racoon incidents so I know how hard and time consuming this project can be. Thanks for the great videos!

I never felt so much understanding about the timeline as I did after this video, and I watched A lot of these RE videos over the past 10 years. I really liked how told us about about every location they went too. I never noticed that like 3 different games all took place in the Spencer mansion on the same night! Now I see how the Lisa character is such a sad and tragic story!
