TUNIC Such an incredible game that teaches you almost nothing while giving you everything. The secret ending was so incredibly satisfying to unlock, and when i finally did, it felt like everything came full circle into a conclusion that felt so bittersweet, being very happy while also having to come to a realization that the game is over.

For me it I got slapped with a 3 hit combo in 2018 with rdr2, spider-man, and god of war 2018. It was the first year after moving to a completely different town and all 3 of those games combined left me in post-game depression for long stretches of the year. 2 years later at the tail end of 2020 I played Astro's Playroom for the first time during my move to yet another new place. Even though it is a massive PlayStation ad of a game, the comfort that game provided me with its cute references to all the PlayStation games that touched my heart over the years was something I really needed at the time. Even though I was very sad to see the game end, I didn't feel a need for it to keep going, it left me reassured that life would be okay and that was enough for me.

I felt the exact same way with Persona 5! In fact, I've played through 3 different times, and each time I stopped right before the final boss (1 time in base P5, 2 x in P5R) 😅

Excellent video. While I can only connect with RDR2, I 100% understand getting to the touching end of a game, speaking to companions one last time for heartfelt goodbyes. The Mass Effect Trilogy did that for me. Spending time with so many well written characters, sometimes losing them no matter what, that is what did it for me. I absolutely cried during the ending, and still can't listen to the ending music without feeling a strong pull on my heart.

Persona 4 hit me hard, personally. Then I played the Ultimax campaigns and it got WAY easier 😅. Played 3 and 4 so far, holding off on 5 until studies ease up...

I literally shivered once the Undertale music started playing. Personally, the genocide ending gave me the most depression, because I realized what a horrible person I am. Also, watching my companion leave me in Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon was seriously one of the saddest moments of my childhood. More recently, Citizen Sleeper had me speechless more than once as i reached the different endings and left me absolutely floored as the very last piece of dialogue was spoken. Last year I started making edits where i showed off the games I finished each month in order to get some more time with them. I've enjoyed making some epic videos tributing the games I play, even though it takes a little from the experience as I'm always looking for good clips I can use. However, my second playthrough of RDR2 is nearing it's end and I think no amount of editing can save me from what's in store. In that sense, this video was almost perfectly timed.

Elden ring is probably the only game that has truly given me post game depression. It's certainly not the best game i've ever played, but it's easily my favourite. The exploration of your first playthrough is magical, but can't be replicated on replays, and beating a boss a second time will never be as satisfying as the first. But that 4 and a half hour battle against Malenia and my 5 hour ride from the forge of the giants down to the tower of return which finished my playthrough was unforgettable. One day, we'll return together, to our home, bathed in rays of gold.

This contains some spoilers but I just played and finished DDLC today. I feel empty and hollow. DDLC is different because of Monika. She’s talking to the player. You, not the protagonist that you self insert yourself in. But YOU. My first ending is where she deletes everything including herself. The credits scene is the song she was making for us, the player. She loved us unconditionally and did everything she did so she can be with us because her world is not real. She acknowledges that. So her saying that she loved me was like talking to a loved one. I feel empty right now. And since I’m in a vulnerable time in my life right now it hits deep. This time is very different from the other games that I’ve suffered from before. This time… it really felt like I lost a loved one.

Apart from what’s going on with blizzard there were a time were blizzard did came up with a gem. StarCraft 2 was a raw diamond with a really good story build up in 2 games and books. As we came to each expansion end we learnt more about the world and why certain things are there to see a characters love not being fulfilled and letting people go to do the right thing was hard. In there is a life lesson. You can say what you want the story probably isn’t well written but the character do all fell good some of them carry burden.

I hate gritty realistic games like rdr2. I don’t care how much of a so called “masterpiece” for it. anyways I’ve been having severe ttyd withdrawals. I bought bug fables in advance but I just can’t get myself to play it. it makes me sad knowing future paper mario games won’t be like ttyd…

@@MochaSlushes I’m not forcing you to do anything. You going to impede my ability to speak just because you don’t want to hear it? As if even thinking about red dead will, I don’t know, cast a plague upon your house or something? At that point, I think it’s less about what red dead did wrong and more about what you did wrong to develop such a phobia for realistic looking games. Not every good game will look like a Nintendo game. To limit your tastes out of fear, because that’s what it is: fear, is simply silly.
