Prince of Persia Warrior Within. I was already blown away by the combat variety, the wall-run mechanics, the music and the time powers but the thing that made me fall in love with the game and eventually gaming in general was the first Dahaka chase.

Right? Like it’s some kind of big mystery lol. Rob hit the nail on the head. It’s essentially Christmas dinner, but before Christmas… With an emphasis on turkey. Dave seems to think it’s Christmas dinner fried with cheese lol.

Great episode, really enjoyed it & listening to the stories of the games that inspired future events is cool. The games that influenced me would be Sonic the Hedgehog on both the Sega Mega Drive & Master System, Streets of Rage 1 & 2, Super Mario Kart & Mortal Kombat 3 on the SNES & the game that changed everything for me is the 1st Resident Evil on PS1, coming from playing games on earlier 2D consoles, it was one of the 1st 3D games i ever played alongside demos of Destruction Derby, Ridge Racer, Formula 1, Wipeout 1 & 2097 but RE1 is the game that inspired me the most & consider it my no1 fav game ever. Other games i would also include would be Max Payne, Half-Life & Deus Ex on PC, GTA 3 on PS2 & Uncharted 1 on PS3, awesome. Again great episode, look forward to the next 1.

#podsquad - The buttons: circle and cross represent "yes" and "no", respectively (which explains their common use as "confirm" and "cancel" in games; the triangle symbolizes a point of view and the square is equated to a sheet of paper there to be used to access menus.

I remember getting a used PlayStation console. I had to turn it upside down, for it to read certain games. I was about 8 or 9. I distinctly remember having no memory card and the first game I popped in was BLAM! Machine Head. That has to be the game I'm most grateful for. It was my very first experience, on the PlayStation and the reason I only play on PlayStation...I also remember not being able to save so I got to see the opening bit, where the guy is taken over by red sludge after drinking something, questionable, haha.

MGS1 and FF7 are the 2 that really got me into games. Prior to that it was games like Sonic, Crash, Jet Moto, etc. Went to a friends house and played MGS1 and FF7 and was blown away. Especially by FF7. It changed my idea of what games could be and shaped my entire future! I'm now a video game developer!

I have not been having a good time with my ps5 today. It randomly started deleting my ps4 games from external storage. My advice don't use more than one extended storage device on ps5 ever plug one in and keep it to just that one. I am thankful for after 18 hours of troubleshooting finally being able to redownload senran kagura peach beach splash. But it would be the same issue with any game with more than one download option had to go into my system storage delete the extra data for that game that disappeared, then redownload the game that disappeared. It was a nightmare. Ash, rob, dave, rosie i hope this never happens to you.

#podsquad Ash's question regarding games that identify who youi are was so interesting to me because I have a different lense to it as a long term viewer so I thought I would share my view of signature games that reflect these fantastic individuals. (wow that was the longest sentence I have ever written) Rob - Metal Gear: it is a measured experience. It is in parts serious and funny, and has a surprising amount of depth. Rosie - PaRappa the Rapper: Vibrant, funny, witty and fun! I cannot think about this game without thinking about Rosie! Dave - The Witness: Thoughtful, beautiful, intruiging, clever and really interesting. Outter Wilds was a great shout though! Ash - Hollow Knight: It is tough but fair, it is creepy yet beautiful, it is spontaneous yet deliberate. Nathan - Tekken: Simple and complex, brutal and hopeful, competitive and fun, skillful and lucky! Legends Never Die - Ratchet and Clank: Personality, humor, action and adventure is in my heart!

Unlike most of you here, I imagine, I didn't start gaming until was in my 30s. Well, I'd played games in arcades. Games like Pac-Man and Donkey Kong. And tried - and hated - pc gaming (still do), such as the original Wolfenstein 3D. My first Playstation game was the original Tomb Raider. But for whatever reason I could never get my head around those early games and never got very far. That all changed on PS2 with Ratchet and Clank. Something clicked for me with that game. I understood it. I knew what it wanted me to do. And it was the first game I ever completed. Since then, if I don't finish a game it's because I just don't enjoy it and I put it down. I've played 100s of games since Ratchet and Clank. Even have a few platinum trophies since those were introduced. I owe it all to Ratchet and Clank and Insomniac Games. So thanks!

My earliest gaming memories are Nintendo based as the earliest games i remember playing were zelda link to the past and super mario world, but also donkey Kong country, secret of mana but also the untranslated seiken densetsu 3 as my grandpa had snes emulators on his pc, and that was my first exposure to games. I think most of them i just had a little go on and changed game. But i remember playing alot of mario and zelda. Then i had a gameboy and played links awakening and Pokémon red. Then we got a ps1 with crash 3, spyro 2 and tomb raider 3 and crash and spyro was just wild. And tomb raider 3 was way too difficult but i loved messing around in the mansion and playing the first few levels.

My starting hear that introduced me to gaming was a PlayStation for me and my little brother (though he was still too young to make use of it) and 2 games, which were Digimon World and Disney's Tarzan. But what truly got me into gaming were my first RPGs from Squaresoft and since then my gaming portfolio has been expanded into what it is now

The original RDR was the game that got me back into gaming. Ive owned an atari, Sega master system, Sega mega drive, and then every playstation. I was an avid gamer but didn't game that much after I left home in 2002 although I always had a console. Then Red Dead came along and brought me back to gaming with a massive passion. Now that I have a couple of children, it's how I spend my spare time in the evenings. Keeps me outta the pub! 😉

I'm thankful for Bomberman on SNES for being my first gaming experience, and the likes of Crash Bandicoot, Klonoa, Croc and later Spyro for solidifying my gaming love and for making me the Playstation loyalist I still am today. Same goes for Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter and Sly Cooper. I also am thankful for the Tekken & Soul Calibur series for influencing my taste in fighting games and bringing 2 versions of gaming's greatest character Yoshimitsu. And lastly I'm thankful for Skyrim for properly reigniting my love for gaming when it had mellowed a little in the early 2010s and inspiring me to broaden my horizons for what games to enjoy.

My dad played PC games - mostly strategy games and point and click adventures - ever since I can remember so it came quite naturally that I started gaming early too. The game, or rather series, I am most thankful to though is the Mass Effect series on the PS3. I played them during a pretty hard time of my life and I was clinging to those games like a lifeline. The PS3 was also the time when I got more and more into gaming. I did play games pretty often before - but I had far less games, just played the same few over and over. Only when I was already 25 years old - after I got my PS3 - it was like a whole new universe of gaming had opened up to me. That was then also the time during which I started building up a backlog of unplayed games. 😅

I'd love to see Rob's ff13 review as it was my first final fantasy. I was verryyy mixed on it, a lot of critics outright disliked it and it took me over 10 years of on and off playing, chipping away at it to beat it. But eventually i did and that whole game became something i actually grew to love in the end, it is very much something i'm thankful for now.

#PODSquad #VODSquad #PlayStationAccess Thought I would cover all bases... 😆 Slightly left-field, so bear with me. In light of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora getting released in a couple of weeks, featuring some of the most stunning environments I have seen in a long time and within those environments, some of the coolest creatures brought to PS5, it got me thinking about if each member of the team has a favourite creature or animal from any PlayStation game? By the way, my wife and I have a pure-bread border collie, Kylo, so I must say dogs will always sit above cats in my heart. Love you PlayStation Access, hope you have a wonderful end to 2023!

Thanksgiving isn't anything like Christmas at all. There is a very good reason why we celebrate it. It makes the first year the Pilgrims survived their time in the new colony. After a very rough winter, trying to learn how to grow crops and survive sicken, it is the idea of how the Pilgrims gave thanks for the food they had and making through another year. So; Thanksgiving was created to remind us of the hardships of this countries founding members and remind us to give thanks for all we have. My family and I have had a hard year, and I'm just thankful that we are all healthy and alive another year. I'm also very thankful for our new member of the family, as my grand niece had her first child this year. He is a happy boy, and I'm grateful for that. I don't plain you Brits for not understanding our holiday, but I hope this will give you an idea in the future to understand who we are.

I was playing games on Commodore 64 as early as I can remember, but the original Mortal Komat at the local county fair arcade is what turned it into an obsession. I was 10 so I didn't have much money to play, but I would watch and learn when able. By the time MKII released, I had saved some money just for the next fair. By this time, popularity was sky high so the game was surrounded when I got there. I walked up and set my quarter down to enter the queue. What a great week of schooling my friends and random people, it was one of my favorite gaming memories as a child that I will never forget. Thanks for the video, you are all awesome.
