Your tutorials are great ! You speak loud enough, we can see clearly the miniature and where you're painting, you give your paints' name... Top-notch tutorial !

This is one of the coolest mini's GW has put out! Really good paint job too, gonna be bringing this guide up when I get around to painting my next project.

Have to agree, the miniature is detailed without being overly complex. One of my personal favourites.

I've been working on my set for a while now. You paint your models well. I prefer the board games these days as to collecting an actual army. I'm looking forward to Necromunda later on.
@PeteTheWargamer8 жыл бұрын
I agree, board games tend to have lower miniature counts and are often easier to get games for.

good Lord you are good at this stuff man - kudos! I aspire to be as good as you doing this.. just started a dnd5e campaign, and am getting minis for monsters as well as npc's

Sorry, can I ask one question? When I am painting red cloth, I am also using yellow/orange mix or even yellow as final highlight. I would like to hear you opinion, if it is or isn´t too much to use even such bright paints for this purpouse, or it should be used for painting diffrent material, like red latex etc. Thanks.
@PeteTheWargamer8 жыл бұрын
The vibrancy of the highlight should reflect the material you're trying to replicate. So for a dull cloth you might only use a brighter red highlight and small amount of orange of the tips. However, if you're painting a shiny material such as latex, plastics for leather then you would use more striking colours for the highlights such as bright oranges & yellow maybe even small dabs of white too. This would simulate light reflecting off a shiny surface.

Hey, I'm very new to this hobby and need to ask this... How the F do you see all these super small areas? You pant details I cant even see! Do you work with a magnifiyer or are my eyes just done? I mean even if I would see the stuff I could not be this precice but man this lvl of skill is just frustratingly far away.. Anyway still enjoy to paint my minis. Merry Christmas all🎄👍

Fantastic work. Do you thin your base paints?
@Sam-wf8nz8 жыл бұрын
You said you added some water to the black paint. Do you not dilute all of your paint? That's something I was always told to do. Just curious.
@PeteTheWargamer8 жыл бұрын
I use a wet palette so all of my paint is diluted to a degree, however when I suggest adding water it's usually more than you would usually dilute with.
@Sam-wf8nz8 жыл бұрын
+The War Gamer I should look into getting one of those. Thank you. Great videos. They've been helping me out a lot
@zm0rc5 жыл бұрын
Howd you paint the base?
@HeroesBosses8 жыл бұрын
Would you recommend against painting the eyes?
@PeteTheWargamer8 жыл бұрын
Eyes can make or break a model. Unless you do the eyes just right then you can easily make them look like they have googly eyes. If you've got a steady hand and thin brush then go for it but I find it's not always necessary for human sized 28mm models.
@HeroesBosses8 жыл бұрын
+The War Gamer I couldn't agree more. I just spent an hour painting/retouching the eyes on a mini, and afterwards I thought "If hadn't painted these, would anyone have noticed?" :)
@lucozademan9998 жыл бұрын
What grey primer do you use please? and why don't you use a black primer or a white primer? sorry noob question.
@PeteTheWargamer8 жыл бұрын
I use both a generic brand acrylic primer from a hardware store as well as the Army Painters Uniform Grey. My generic brand is a little lighter than my Uniform Grey. I use grey on miniatures which have lots of bright/light colours as it's often much easier to paint over. I find that black can make your miniatures too dark and white can make them too bright.
