Probably a Rhudaur chieftain or Cardolan chaman, would love to have some new units too. Imo, they should separate Angmar with the Witch-King from the middle of the third age and the desolated lands just before the war of the ring without him. That way, they will be able to get rid of Burdhur and his cave troll look and introduce a new troll chief and troll units.

Wouldn’t bat swarms still work? If he’s in combat against a bat and a cave troll, his fight would be reduced to 3. Since the cave troll is a monster he wouldn’t be able to match its fight value

Yeah, you got that right. It won't see much use to be honest. With Fight 6, he won't often face a non-Monster enemy with a higher F value. Glorfindel and Gil-Galad? Even Sauron and the Balrog are Monsters. Full list: Azog, bolg, thranduil (with extra sword), elendil, glorfindel, gil galad, boromir (with banner), Aragorn (with Haleth), Imrahil (with banner), Sauron as Necromancer

So kurzait models is doing halftrolls with an arnor theme.. I know unreleased was doing war drakes before defense of the north so I'm going full tinfoil hat it's a way for Angmar to access half trolls. Yes it's stupid but it will be great.

If Eärnur is part of the army list, no other named Gondor heroes can be included in the same army list, and the army is Impossible Allies with every other army except Rivendell, which will be Historical Allies as long as it includes Glorfindel and no other named Rivendel heroes.

Beautiful model, However his rules are either impacting him badly or is very situational (se few models are above fight 6 and most of the time they have elven blades). Hope he won't be expensive in term of points or that a LL will buff him up!

It will be clearly clarified but I do not think so, the Bat rule is apply as soon as you are engaged with it. So you will probably buff Earnur fight then strike then halve it after for the combat rolls. The Bat rule does not effect the bat combat value So I guess it is not impacting Earnur rule.

@NoobsandMen Im betting he has 3 wounds, he survives a scrap with the witch king at Fornost so I can see him having 3, similar to Boromir having 3 as his younger self in minas tirith (also to represent his pushing back the witch king). I'm expecting him to be overcosted to act as the legion tax for the inevitable defence of Fornost LL. I'm expecting we'll have to take him and Arvedui. If he's only 130, with all those cheap troops, cheap cav etc it'll be a brutal horde army. But knowing GW that's the intention to sell the book so he'll probably actually be 110 😂 They'll FAQ him to 150 next Xmqs after the legion wrecks tournaments for a year.

They've already said he'll have 3 wounds but they don't give him 3 fate, 2 at best, plus it's not like his abilities are stellar (unless master duelist actually does work against bats and shit, needs clarification) Fools challenge is actually a huge detriment, not the challenge thing but the having to charge heroes, it means you have to be cagey with him around models like the rog or Sauron or any other big killy hero. The legion will also likely force Glorfindel whose overcosted and shit so 130 up to 150 with kit would be perfectly reasonable -Liam

It seems really easy to avoid charging a hero to me, just tie up whoever you don't want to fight with regular troops before he moves. To me the worry is that means you might not want to call heroic move with him, which I see as a bigger concern.

If you manage to get a 55 point captain behind this guy, he won't be able to call a heroic move because he would have to go backwards to charge the captain, which makes him a very difficult hero to use as he is going to need a lot of cheap support might, and in a legion with only 1 named capitain it's gonna be tough.
