I think just giving him an extra attack would suffice. Maybe give him preternatural agility so he cannot be trapped or another wound for extra durability. Other than that, he’s pretty solid.

I honestly thought it had been quietly cancelled it had been so long since it even had more than a passing comment on GW Community or in White Dwarf. The GeeDubbz subfaction/clique who hath burned me a lot less in the past compared to the other branches that absolutely incinerated my azz.

Yeah I know how it feels to not get much attention from GW, it feels absolutely fantastic and is a big reason I like this game and it's been such a success. I'm all for rules tweaks, a consolidation of rules in general and a confirmation that MESBG will continue under license, but we only had the Osgiliath edition not too long ago. As for models there's tons out there, use your imagination and a bit of hobby skill rather than waiting for GW to release your next dose of slop like some kind of paypig 40k player. If this new edition chooses to eliminate and restrict choices for players or significantly deviates how this game is played then I'm straight up going to start a petition for the GBHL to continue to use the existing rules - one of the good things about GW neglecting this game so long is that players had to organize into strong independent organisations like the GBHL, and which potentially have more leverage than the disparate masses of 40k serfs. I'm hoping the new edition will be good, but if not I hope players can organize effectively to challenge it. With how GW support is like a monkey's paw I highly doubt it will be. I love this game and in what small way I can I'll be damn sure to try and resist anything that would change it into another victim of GWs practice of mutilation. GW doesn't own this hobby, they just own the license - it's up to us to ensure it stays that way.

You've made some good points and I think due to some of the factors you've pointed out (the evolution of MESBG's community from long periods of neglect for example), this won't be another WHFB->AoS situation nor a "new 40K". People are naturally assuming the worst from this comically exploitative company but a distinction also needs to be made rather than creating a nebulous boogeyman out of the whole thing and collectively mewling about DOOM IS APPROACHING in advance. The Specialist Games Studio is a relatively decent branch within the larger beast that has been responsible for its better products (KT, MESBG, TOW - the recent new ed. of Kill Team has been superb) and practices and it's fine to give them a little credit in advance rather than lumping them all in with "the GW". This group also seems to have some amount of influence within the company because so far TOW hasn't been "another 40K" in terms of exploiting/milking the customer and warping the whole thing into a pure money-making scheme. Of course if they end up betraying the spirit of this game, the existing playerbase and the strong community can and SHOULD come down hard upon them. BTW I also don't want the 40K style rollercoaster of monthly muh balance patches or a new book every month but I also definitely do not want the horrendous level of neglect we've had for such long periods of time that it made things stale, lifeless and shackled with the same glaring issues for years without getting fixed. "OOP" metal models being the only way to build armies, having to hunt down extremely hard to find crappy box sets from ancient times just to get some models. I get that people don't want THE EYE OF SAURON to fall upon this game too much but we really do need at least some amount of attention in the form of rules clean-up (some more variety and balancing would also be nice) and new models FFS. The whole "IF IT AINT BROKEN..." and "DON TOUCH MUH GAEM!!!" and the disgustingly autistic "I DUN WANT ****ANY**** CHANGES!!!" reactionary crap from certain people just annoys me. How many more "Legendary Legions" (which got ridiculous by this point) or half-assed Erratae can we live on without getting some life support in the form of a new edition that can add/fix/consolidate stuff without needing a freaking supplement? The new edition can solve this ridiculous bottleneck method for adding/improving things in a game system. A more balanced attitude/stance is for the best at this point before seeing anything concrete IMHO.

The game is in such a good spot. Some minor tweaks would be great but a complete overhaul will be disappointing. Very excited to see what comes with the war of the rohirrim. -Sean

To be fair, GW doesn't have a good track record with new editions to begin with. 40k especially has a big problem with updating their editions way too fast, they're poorly designed on a fundamental level (army books getting erratas within weeks or even days of being released come to mind), and often take away more than they improve or give. This latest edition of LoTR has been brilliant and the community is very happy with it and wants to see it grow, so being resistant to changes to a system that many feel is in a great spot is natural here. Hopefully it's the same team that worked on this one and they make good changes and keep the meat of the game the same, but GW hasn't really endeared themselves to the wider community with how they've handled new editions in the past and recent past. Worst case scenario, we just use our current books and ignore the new edition entirely

We are very excited but have been burnt by this company many times before and had editions completely change games, and a majority of the time not for the better.
