Turok is a very important game to me. I'm very glad I could see such a great run of it! Good job!
@DanoLefourbe8 жыл бұрын
True. It was really frustrating sometimes on the N64, which had worse controls. Still not great on PC cause the jump physics are a bit weird.The game was made in a weird time when games design was changing in many ways. It shows.

I picked up an n64 cart AFTER getting hooked on the xbone release... Found out the controls for such games were radically evolving at the time. Struggling to beat the tutorial with a decent time because who tf thought moving solely with c buttons while aiming solely with the control stick was ergonomic and a good idea!? How many people do you know who played halo with lefty controls!?!??!

Designer: I want to put a fire-breathing cyborg tyrannosaurus that shoots lasers as the boss of this level. Supervisor: Why would you want a fire-breathing T. Rex as a boss? Designer: Why would you NOT want a fire-breathing T. Rex as a boss?

Nah it was the 90s. Designer: "I want that firebreathing cyborg T-rex." Supervisor: "I mean, okay. But what if it also shot lasers though?"

Because even the fire breathing raptors we have don't need lasers.

I was constantly curling my toes and feeling major stress during all those jumps and trick shots. I played turok as a kid, and you nailed it when you say the n64 controller sucked to play Turok. Still one of my favourite N64 games. I couldnt believe it could be beatin that quickly. This was amazing to watch.

Is anyone else just in complete awe of how enormous the world of Turok is? Like, it must be bigger than most games coming out for today's generation consoles, and there'd be no way for you to figure out where to go and what to do. If anyone ever got through this game without a strategy guide, they must've dedicated several controllers and many months to get to the end.

I rented the game as a kid (when renting N64 games was still a thing) and it had the big cheat on the inside cover, so I just teleported to different levels and bosses, then screwed with big head, colorblind and other various cheats. When the store started selling them since they weren't making much profit, I bought it and a dozen others with boxes included.

so just curious is there a way to exploit the final boss warp for a speed run. does anybody else know about the cheat for no clipping that let's you walk through walls? if you turn that on in long hunter's boss arena and go up through the ceiling fir a about a minute you'll suddenly be in the final boss arena mid fight. i found it as a kid never seen anyone else do it?
