Christmas Eve, 1997. I got to open my brand new Nintendo 64, and this is the game that I got with it. To this day it’s one of my all time favorite video games and I can watch people speedrun it all day!

I may be several months late to the party, but I'm glad I got around to watching. I don't think I've ever seen a race this close! I wonder if it would be possible to have the runners race each other on the same console at an in-person GDQ, and how that would affect the lag situation...

I've only ever played the DS remake, and... wow, the original version is waaay different. Just one example, in DS, the Spaceport Alpha track is an _enclosed_ space station, while in 64 it's apparently open (and... was apparently playing the wrong music?)

Are DKR races normally this close? I don't think there was ever more than five seconds difference between first and last place. Plus the runners kept trading the lead back and forth.
