The fact GDQ put an all time classic like MGS1 as the last game of the marathon, instead of super long RPG as usual, really warms my heart!

Man I remember the day Boba found the skip, by accident.. Id never even of her but massive MGS fan and a nooby speedrunner myself, but within like hours of her finding it the whole MGS community was going wild. Was so cool 😎

40:34 - The story with the Boba Skip is still such a wholesome and exciting series of events. I'll never forget her spontaneous victory song. o7 to all the Kevins in chat.

Grew up playing this game over and over with my cousin, who I lost this fall to the opioid epidemic. Thank you for running it at this year's GDQ

Sorry for your loss. I started carrying Narcan after I came across a stranger ODing a few years ago. 😢 Angers me that the Sacklers made off with billions of dollars from ruining lives.

It's my favourite game of all time. As weird as it sounds, its the first game I played that made me feel something. Something other forms of media couldn't do nearly as well.

After years of watching countless GDQ's and their off-season content, I can say that this was one of the best in the recent decade. Like Sumichu and Amy said, the energy, the companionship, the runners, everything was extremely wholesome, caring and filled with so much love that anyone who hasn't attended an online event, or been to one live, you absolutely need to catch these events! You all do such incredible work and I can't wait to see every one LIVE in person again soon

What an amazing AGDQ glad I could almost sit through the whole thing especially with the week I was having. I'm moving out of my state so the whole week this was going on was packing, so watching the amazing runs really helped! But like seriously what an amazing AGDQ, lots of World Records, great and amazing runs, managed to break previous records from GDQ. Glad I was there when they hit 1, 2 & 3 million dollars. Once again great AGDQ like always!

Speed runners never cease to amaze me with their deep knowledge of the game. I played this game over and over when I was 13/14 years old and on Normal (or Hard) mode could usually do it in an hour or two. A few years ago, I tried again, after not having played it in a decade or so. On Normal mode and found it very hard, much harder than part 2 and 3. No way I completed that run in 2 hours. The game remains an all time classic.
@ReviewHavenGaming2 жыл бұрын
I see a few people mentioning the hot & cold pipes in the Rex hangar: (They actually mention it in the run) That only exists in Twin Snakes unfortunately. As of right now, there is still no way to skip the backtracking in the original version - speedrunning or otherwise.

In the hopes of a mgs runner seeing this as a child i used to just beat ocelot by spamming him with shots - on original ps1 if u hit him with socom and just spam fire the i frames never activate meaning you can just kill him almost instantly without the running in circles i dont know if this is fps related or somthing but in the talks of seconds removed i hope it helps :)
