Voyager, New Horizons and stuff. And yet animations shows them almost touching. I guess, it's easier than to explain that their cameras are basically stuck at the end of a telescope. Do the same thing, but with kerbin getting closer to the sun. Make it to Laythe to save the Kerbal race. Make it at a set rate though so it's not as buggy. Also make a surface base and get over 100 kerbal there

If you want something really weird, but also breathtakingly beautiful, make it so that Kerbin and Laythe are orbiting REALLY close together... It took a while for me, but eventually, I managed to get an airplane that is able to take off from either Kerbin or Laythe, and land safely on the other one (Landing on Laythe is SUCH a pain though)
