Man, this game still looks great, and smooth. I would even have to say this game looks to run smoother than BF4. I miss full on destruction, why they took it out I'll never understand.

They got rid of it because higher graphics, higher polygons, and new tricks takes the processing and memory power needed for that environmental destruction.

Because after BC2, people where pissed at BF3, when they removed the destruction. So, they created fake destruction, where u hit certain points on the map to get a scripted event to occur that makes it look like destruction.

+Sinkatze Its not real destruction, its scripted and shallow, great for trailers shit to play with. On BFBC2 you can play the same map 10 times and have EXTREEMLY different battlegrounds.

@reggiardito I see what you mean. Its my favorite FPS at the moment as well. It doesn't really matter if you buy BC2 now or later, but I agree with you about the servers. I know that everyone including myself will most likely switch over to BF3 for a long period of time before the servers on BC2 start to fill up again. I just got the BC2 Vietnam package and I have to say, its hard to find a decent lobby most of the time.

@19302austin Depends what you want, both have action packed single player and balanced team based multiplayer but Killzone 3 classes are much more situational and have vastly different attributes whereas Bad Company 2 classes can be used across the board, albeit less effectively, in any situation. I personally would say BC2, but Killzone 3 is very good and lets be honest it looks bloody amazing

10 years later, you're still right. This game was peak Battlefield. Vehicles, but not too forgiving vehicles. Greatly balanced, opposed to BF5 and BF4. Meaningful destruction. That lock-on dart. Helicopters were strong, but not ridiculously OP. The Mortar barrage you could call in as sniper was less annoying than any other mortar in thr following BFs, but it still was fairly strong. The Drone was limited to one per team (or two if you managed to pull that off), and well balanced too. The gunplay was good, and in this case really less is more.

@@LifeISMagix I agree. And as I think about it now, to my surprise snipers weren't even that annoying. Maybe because you couldn't lay down and that just made you move around more. Or because you could call in the mortar strike to that hill over there. There were no actual save spaces in that game.

@ComrnanderShepard Battlefield has bigger maps than COD, I don't know what you are talking about. They did take the customization off call of duty, but who hasn't. Basically every fps or any online multiplayer game has customizable classes now. COD was not the first to do it. They just popularized it and many have done it since. Also, Battlefield still resembles a class based shooter, because it has distinct classes, such as Medic, Recon, etc., with special abilities, unlike COD.

@TheBloodRite You can lonewolf it, you can even choose not to be in a squad. However, being a lone wolf is much harder as you don't spawn near the action and the maps are quite large. If you revive or heal a teammate it gives you points, but if you revive a squad made then you get double that, it's always better to act as a team.

What i mean is that i think it's better to wait for BF3 to come out in just 9 days instead of buying this. After all lets be honest i doubt BC2 will have a lot of servers once BF3 comes out. When the Open Beta was on BC2 had only close to 5000 online players. And i don't mean "Don't buy this game" i mean buy BF3 now , buy this later.

This is truely my favorite online multiplayer game of all time. And for the Xbox YES people still play. Not as many but there seems to be a resurgence of people lately. Not sure about ps3 but for how cheap you can get it, it's still worth it. Be picky with used copies though because of the registering the code with EA online.
