Man, I haven't played a Halo game in a long while. As soon as I can, I'm going to purchase all the installments to this franchise that I don't own and have a marathon. Hopefully, the rumored Halo 2 Anniversary is a real thing for this year because that's my favorite Master Chief title and I'd LOVE for an HD remake of it!

for me the game was a 7.0 which would be disappointing after playing games like Halo 3, like you said, which was a perfect 10 in my eyes. Again, I can understand people who do love Combat Evolved. We are all Halo fans and there's nothing wrong with liking a very well done franchise

The fact that 343 Industries didn't have to change anything to the core gameplay shows how ahead of its time Halo CE was back then.

I plan on getting this game as my next FPS. I recently got a 360 and beaten HaloReach about 3 times, and going in for a 4th time. I just love the game because of it's oldschool shooter gameplay with modern day FPS tweaks. The gameplay is very mentally strategic. I haven't played Halo 1 but I cannot wait to give it a try and see what all the excitements about. I know it's a 10 year old game but I'm a fan of oldschool shooters so I don't mind

In halo waypoint hub when you press X you will see a a screen with color press the buttons in the corresponding color and a menu will come where you have to Enter a code with forerunner alphabets but I don't know it. Please Internet help

Amazing game, even to this day it is such a perfectly crafted title...literally has everything. Plus playing this in debug mode in 3rd person, invinsibility with bottomless, infinite clip is AWESOME.

Has anyone ever noticed that 343 just took stuff from previous games and mapped it over the item? Ex. The assault rifle is the one from halo 3. The "M6D" is the one from halo 3, which is an M6G. The sniper is from Reach. The phantom has a turret for another man, when there wasn't on in Combat Evolved. 343 cut corners.

Guys, no remake can ever be a 10 unless it's loaded top to bottom with the most expertly tuned new game content and bonus content on the side. This is a game that came out 10 years ago with graphics that look like games in 2008. Sweet, we can play it online. And some bonus maps for Reach? Cool. All good. But when the main attraction was your "OMG SUPER HD REMAKE, 10 YEARS AGO" and your game doesn't even bother to look as good as last year's installment, it just feels like next year's model.

DK mode Frozen in time (the ability to freeze time whenever you want) Invincibility Running man (makes you 4X faster) Unlimited ammo Double damage (fire arms) Mirror mode Enemy rockets Fist of God (one hit melee kills) Invisibility Marcus of Queensbury rules (Elites/Hunters) All weapons Huge explosions (rockets/grenades) Zero G mode Spawn a: Warthog, Ghost, Scorpion Tank etc. It's like video games developers today have forgotten what actually makes a game fun and replayable. I won't ever buy anniversary, because it would feel like I'm just paying for the graphical upgrade. I know it has more to offer, but to me. It just isn't worth it.

Im new to the whole Xbox gamelibrary, coming from having only played PS2&PS3 games. I dont know wether to get this or Gears of War now that ive beaten my first 360 game, Halo: Reach?

@MrMambalam it is halo combat evolved the game that redefined the fps genre it is perhaps one of the greatist games in exsistance so the improved graphically updated revamp deserves the same rating as the original as it is the same game with a different graphical out look.

That last cut scene is different from the orignal. In the original he says 'We're going to give them a belly full of lead and a pool of their own blood to drown in! Am I right'. There abouts.

Although they gave it the same score as IGN, they had a much better review. IGN's review was mostly the reviewer complaining about how it feels old and how the graphics still aren't as good as modern shooters.

I played the campaign a few times and then tried the multiplayer, and I must say it really felt weird to play it after the campaign because the crosshair is lower for like half the screen lol

yeah but developers should realize the profit they can make from these games being remade graphic and gameplay wise, not just the resolution. In the long run they earn more money and make a name for themselves by contribuiting to the respective series,. EX: - 343 Industries

They did a great job with the remastered visuals and audio...just a shame they didn't redo some of the later levels like the Library and Two Betrayals. Just WAAAY too much copy/paste and reusing the same dreary rooms over and over and over again with endless waves of the same enemies. Really, would anyone have complained about authenticity if they just removed those awful levels or done something completely different with them?

I fuckin love Halo Anniversary hahaha shit I've hardly stopped playing it since it came out. Worth every penny. 2 gripes though, a) it seems like they kept some old voices, but revoiced the new cut scenes and Master Chiefs voice actor seems apathetic now. b) only one firefight map, which I love, but by the sounds of things, this was the last chance to make a Flood firefight and they missed it. In 2001 Halo was a 9.5, and in 2011 its still a 9.5 for me!

I don't hate CoD, but it's just not my type of FPS game. Halo is a classic style first person shooter with a intriguing story and tons of folklore. Call of Duty is a game for people who just want to run and shoot things wich is fine for some people; there's nothing wrong with liking a game like that. But I like games that have a little more substance and more character.

@HatoburekaSutajio no, igns reasons for giving this an 8 were horrible, they prety much took of marks for the sole reason it wasa remake. the reason 343 didnt change the gameplay to reachs because they wanted it to be FAITHFUL to the original game, adding in assasination would change the gameplay too much. and as for the jumps being to high, that has been in halo games 1-3. its part of the series physics. reach minimised the jump hight cause they wanted it to have a more realistic feel.

this is how metal gear solid hd collection should of been done. not better resolution graphics but new, overall graphics that are comparable to MGS4. Take those games, redo them and their graphics and do the same to mgs portable ops and mgs twin snakes and release a boxset with mgs4, THE PLAYSTATION DREAM. I hope they also do this to halo 2, halo 3, halo wars, slightly to halo reach and take halo ce anniversary and then make a boxset out of it, THE 360 DREAM ITS ALL GOTTA HAPPEN!,

I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it. The first 4 missions, Keyes and The Maw I loved. They were very fun and well done levels. Assault on Control Room to Two betrayals was where the game lost LOTS of points. The levels have a boring repetitive design and the combat becomes dull. I didn't even really hate The Library, once you get the strategy it's easy but ALL you do is fight off endless hordes of Flood which becomes tiring.
