Back when Titanfall 1 came out, IMC Pilots we're legendary. But as shown in the end of the first game, a huge amount of Pilots and troops defected to the Militia. Seems all the good pilots switched sides and the IMC was desperate to fill in those roles

No. SOME do. Not all, and the IMC's pilots were lackluster at best. Most of them were just mercs. Remember the whole issue with the IMC is that they were streched ultra thin and had to heavily rely on mercs to even get anything accomplished. The ARK was supposed to be a soultion to this, but it didn't work out.

What I think everyone forgets is just because pilots are elite and the best solider the IMC/MILITIA have doesn’t mean they’re invincible. Everything wrong with this: 1: The Pilot they fought clearly had some experience, he should have mopped the floor with two Grunts. (I don’t care if Bangalore had Pilot training, she didn’t have any of the gear, so it doesn’t matter anyways.) 2: Speaking of Pilot training, where was the Titan? He clearly wanted to make a show of his arrival, and what’s more intimidating than a twenty-foot mech? 3: That’s not how Jump Kits work. You can’t fly with them. Double Jump, Wallrunning, and adjusting direction in mid-air is what they do. 4: Bangalore should not have been able to see a cloaked Pilot, much less intercept him mid-strike. And before you say, “Well, they’re semi-visible in the game.” We see a Pilot turn completely invisible earlier in the video. 5: The Pilot missed with a Smart Pistol. As in, the gun that locks on to enemies for automatic headshots. Plot armor at its finest, I guess. 6: Bangalore should have been dead at the start. She obviously got hurt badly, and I really doubt they could get her back with the whole “Surrounded by Militia forces” thing, especially with a Pilot lurking around. Need I go on?
