It is unbelievable... at 19:38, Goichi knew that SF would continue the pressure with a vanish, so he counters with a Down Heavy... but SF knew this was coming, so he follows vanish with a back dash and repeats pressure. So fast and difficult to see, but shows how deep these guys know the game and each other...

A team he made only like a week ago with a character the japanese considered a low tier (which I thought was absolutely crazy). If you watched his streams he really labbed it out and grinded to learn his team in a short time. Freakin genius how he adapts from a strictly neutral control (Hit), then mostly mixups (Cell), and now a focus on both.

Agreed this team is interesting because it both controls the neutral and is amazing rush down. It can do everything. Unlike the purely neutral control hit/goku black team(except 16 who he did well with even then vs GO1), or the more rushdown cell/kid buu team slightly lacking in neutral(got destroyed by reflect and guard cancel/raw tag in setups).

GO1 honestly needs to change his team. He is the only one who hasn't gone through some sort of adaption. Everyone has his number with that team, hopefully he decides to change it for EVO or at least after the new DLC otherwise I can't see him winning any big tournaments

Im sorry but GO1 relies strongly on vegeta assist in the neutral and defensively. I think the vegeta nerf had a significant effect on his team. Hes still great but he’s not as good as Sonic in the neutral(which didnt matter much at final round because vegeta assist covered so much neutral). Even vs dogura its affected him some

Go1 hasn’t won a big tournament (I mean he won that one tournament in Madrid, Spain), but he hasn’t won a tournament since FGC arena and the one before that was Esports Opening Las Vegas Grand Opening. It’s been a rocky summer for him, honestly I think he should change his team entirely, but not his style of play. I mean it’s getting to the point where Dogura places higher than Goichi at this tournament. I guess we’ll just have to wait till Evo to find out.

We aren't talking about those other games, because that doesn't make him better as a DBFZ player. Go1 has been the undisputed best DBFZ player in the world for a while now and he's not looking as good as he previously has. Go1 is still an insanely consistent player. Dogura doesn't have the same spark. Until he starts playing more consistently, he is not a better player.

GO1 doesn't like AGohan anymore due to the huge nerf that he got but AGohan is still a great character. Either way, GO1 is still a force to be reckoned with. SonicFox has multiple teams with great synergy unlike GO1 so that makes him more unpredictable than ever. It's nice too see SonicFox owning like I'm used to seeing though. My boi Fox tearin it up!

The Gawd yeah those who aren't pros, Sonic fox isn't like an average pro. We all know sonicfox is way different than other pros and has great advance knowledge of fighting games so I'm sure he is able to do or find out things others can't. I'm sure if GO1 changes his team he would also have an advantage. Sonic lost his advantage with his old team once everyone started using it so a change of team is the only thing he can do to stay one move ahead of GO1 imo.

I actually like the fact that SF expirements with different squads. It keeps things interesting. Who else would be running a Zamasu in the top 8? Especially since it's full of Cells, Kid Buus, and Vegetas. Yea he runs Bardock now, but you need at least one top tier on your squad. This is also why I enjoy watching Hook play. I hope he NEVER drops Piccolo.

I think Vegeta isn’t working that well for GO1. Sonicfox’s team works well in neutral alone and tends to use assists for pressure/combos. GO1 relies on Vegeta assist a lot for neutral. At launch, Vegeta’s assist was used mainly for pressure. That doesn’t work as well anymore so you can tell GO1 is trying to use it to catch Sonicfox in neutral. The thing is Sonicfox just keeps on avoiding the assist my going over it. The assist isn’t working out that well. Without that assist, Vegeta isn’t an amazing character. You also notice that most of GO1’s effective parts are with Bardock. Bardock works pretty well in neutral by himself without relying on Vegeta. He is reliant on using Vegeta’s assist as a neutral threat but that isn’t working. I feel that if he switches to a different assist that works for pressure, he can focus on neutral and improve his pressure.

I would like to see GO1 use Vegeta’s assist in some other manner since he does neutral pretty well as Vegeta.

Shirley Polanco Sonic has pretty much figured GO1 out or at the very least is no longer intimidated by him. I don’t recall the tournament (Combo Breaker maybe?) but Sonic’s offense was so oppressive that GO1 had his face in his hands and looked really shaken. Sonic is just a nightmare to go up against when he is on his A game.
