Sonicfox’s results speak for themselves. No player has a winning record vs him in tournament. He’s beaten GO1 at combo breaker, summit, and vsfightimg only losing a tourney to him at final round. Kazunoko is 1-3 in tourney vs sonicfox only winning at CEO. Dogura has never won a set vs him. Hook and Chris G have won one set each. Fenrich is the only one whos tied in sets(2-2). Pretty incredible

Christian Thomas I agree with Pandaman64. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. No one in the NRS community can compete with the titans that are Goichi, Dogura and the other Japanese. They've made Sonicfox work harder than he's ever worked in his NRS games history. I know Sonicfox has that innate skill to learn new characters and develop them to a really high level really fast, but Goichi has excellent adaptation skills. Sonicfox beat Goichi at Combobreaker with his 2nd team, but in future tournaments, the novelty effect wore off as people developed counterplay for that Gotenks team. Let's see what they come up with against this Zamasu team next time at Evo. It's too soon to tell if a gap will open up.

Sonic ran thru them at Combo breaker & summit of power and only losing to hookgang & then coming back after 1 disappointing showing at CEO to dominate and run thru GO1 TWICE! And then freed up Dogura.... so really looking at everything your arguement ain’t really valid. Sonic had 1 bad showing (CEO) but still has better stats than the rest of the field considering tournaments with the big names. At first glance I wasn't sure about this new team, but Sonic's genius is not to be questioned at this point. He's the only player I see out here giving other players wreck while using and winning with a variety of characters not named Cell, Kid Buu, or Vegeta (though two were in his last team). sonic fox’s 16 is so much fun to watch and his Zamasu is refreshing. An amazing match and he totally dominated him without cell, a Vegeta assist, or kid buu. LMAO please dont make me write a 5 paragraph essay on everything wrong with this game casually and competitively. I dont even think 5 is enough. Im just gonna keep it brief and just say some of the competitive problems. You're basically saying "defense is fine you just need to git gud", and that's ridiculous. Im not saying it needs to be pushblocking, that was just a suggestion, but it needs a more reliable mechanic than reflect because this game revolves around either getting doing minute long, 1 billion damage combos, or doing 1 minute long block strings. The neutral in this game is almost non existent because its over once one person gets touched. Having long, braindead easy, very damaging and repetitive combos doesnt help either, it reduces the required consistency players need to have in order to win the game and matches turn into combo videos, not to mention EVERYTHING in this game converts into a combo. This game is made for the hype factor and to hype up a crowd with combos and flashy shit. I can honestly go on forever but judging from your last comment ik that you arent gonna read anything long and that you arent gonna change your mind.

First of all, i don't bitch and moan, i state facts and just don't play the game, there is plenty out there for me to play so there is no need to bitch at the devs to fix anything. Getting washed online? LMAO, from mid February to mid April i was in the top 100 players on Ps4 until i dropped the game. Very stupid to assume anyone's skill level and use it as an argument, just stick to the actual argument at hand. Reflect and guard cancel have always been used in pro play, they use it because blocking sucks ass. Its not a good idea to rely on blocking as your defensive option because with the vanish, assists and hour long block string the offensive player has, its very rare to actually get safely out of one without still being stuck in a hard spot whether that be in the corner, or just before entering another block string. And god forbid you actually get hit, where you can put your controller down till the opponent does an easy 60% damage combo and then sets up again for your wake up. Then they can either crossup, throw in a meaty or use an assist to either put you into another block string or combo you, and the cycle continues until the offensive player fucks it up or gets too greedy, this is why you see them end combos in a level 3, cause they just want another setup. And the fact that combos are so damaging, it means that you only have to with the actual neutral 3-4 times to actually win the game. This cycle happened so much in this grand finals. Just game 1, Sonic loses Zamasu, to two combos, and a hard knock down, Sonic lost Bardock to 1 hit, and then Dogura proceeded to lose his three characters because Sonic won neutral just 3 times, and proceeded to follow up with the loop. Defense is TRASH in every way shape and form. Even reflects are able to be punished, and they were many times in this tourney. The whole meta is based around characters with really good blocks strings, mixups, or just long combos. Cell, Gohan and Kid Buu have some of the best mixups in the game, Cell and Bardock have the longest and most damaging combos, and Bardock and Vegeta have some of the best assists not only for making combos longer but also enabling more and longer block strings. Not even mentioning how Sonic's whole game plan with 16 was to get setups off of 16's hard knockdowns. The meta itself reflects how shitty the neutral is and how shitty defense is. In games where this isn't the case, you see characters who are good for a variety of other reasons, good keep away game, good rush down, good range, good reversals, good all around, good air/ground game, good movement, good versatility etc. This game is just a combo video. And how can you possibly say that combos are not easy???? Have you ever touched another fighting game?? GGxrd? BlazBlu? Tekken? StreetFighter (pre 5)? Killer Instinct? Anything? These are by FAR some of the easiest, longest combos in a competitive fighting game. Theres like 1 dropped combo every 2 games wtf are you talking about? Ofc SOMEONE is gonna drop a combo, we are still humans and tournament pressure is a thing. Rarely do players actually drop a combo because of combo difficulty. That's why i say that this game is made for crowd hype. Most fighting games these days implementing cinematic moves and comeback mechanics to appeal to the crowd and the casual fanbase and DBFZ is no exception. They made every character play similarly, they dumbed down inputs, they made combos really easy and long, they made comebacks more likely to happen, they removed zoning and keep away characters, they shortened the shit out of neutral, they made the game very offense based etc. Its so easy to see the direction they took with the game, and with how the FGC is now, they have all the more reason to do it. Its made even clearer with the release of BBTAG on the direction Arcsys is taking their games. Again, i can go in depth about MANY more things wrong about this game like Sparking, 2H, Meter, Assists, Auto combo system, superdash, roster, universal moves, blue health, balancing, conversions etc. I can even go into how bad this game is as a product for the casual audience. The only thing this game has that's good is that this is a game that can get new people into fighting games, that's about it.

well they did it with that intention from the start, to get hype and sell (also since it's dragon ball a lot of casuals would play it so they created this system to please the eyes while being very noob friendly and also long to memorize combos) i think it's a good game to give arc sys well deserved money for future games.

Echo Fox is going to take over the FGC and possibly all of esports. Tokido in SF, JDCR and Saint in Tekken, Sonicfox in DBFZ, Mortal Kombat and Injustice. For Smash, Hungry Box just needs to step it up. Also their League of Legends team is doing pretty good. Don't know about their Counterstrike team though.
