Ah yes, perhaps MatPat should have mentioned that it was not necessarily moonshiners who were causing the 65,000 deaths but a Federal Law requiring that methanol, and not just ethanol, be added to alcoholic drinks to make the pain of drinking worse as to discourage drinking. The US would never experience that kind of hyperinflation, even at the very height of the Great Depressionm but in Germany at that time, paper money was so worthless people would get paid with litteral wheel barrows of banknotes, which would barely cover a loaf of bread.
