My headcanon about why Djimmi owes his soul to the devil is because while he is technically stronger than the devil, he can only use his powers when granting a wish. So he asked the devil to free him from his lamp in exchange for his soul but refused to pay up, hence why the cup brothers are sent to fight him. At the end, when the cup brothers burn all the contracts, djimmi can use his power without restraint.

The theory about chalice being related to the cup bros would explain their fluctuations in their durability as their bodies don’t know how to control the godly power in them and the chalice that you play as is a reincarnated form that the legendary chalice can take.

Y'all rate this one It’s pretty interesting how Werner Werman and Dr Kahl are both so smart, so I like to believe that Werner is Kahl’s pet mouse that was lost while Dr Kahl was using wreckage to build his robot. Werner probably took a good portion of wreckage to build the Catsnwagon and his tank and stuff. On the other hand, Kahl probably made a deal with the devil about having as much wreckage in the Junkyard he wants while Werner offered for a small portion of the junkyard and Werner knew that Kahl wouldn’t care and/or notice. Both didn’t bargin their end because Kahl was playing with life or death so he gave his soul to his robot which is why it says “Dr Kahls Robot” and not “Dr Kahl” and Werner was just protecting his soul.

um yeah it's already obvious without the need of this 'theory' that the show is clearly a different universe from the game's because of all of the very clear differences between the two media's a lot of characters have very different desgins cuphead and mugman have slightly different details to their designs like mugman is a bit more wrinkly looking and they are always seen wearing yellow gloves as apposed to white one's like in the source material ms chalice has a few more distinctly feminine features to her design and has these thing's just bellow her head the devil's nose is like red or something he was also much larger and more physically imposing in the game the root pack are more thuggish looking king dice seems to have went through soem sort of dye job ribby and croaks wear full business suits in this rather then completely nude except for their like lower areas if know what i mean 😉 and are shaped differently werner werman is musch more so the sixe of like a normal rat in this either that or cuphead and mugman canonically bought a potion that shrunk them down to the size of a rat in order to actually fight him the characters even have different personalities too like porkrind who welcomes the cups into his shop's because he has multiple shop's in the game's but in the show he literally hates cuphead and mugman to the Point of fantasizing about murdering them ms chalice while showing signs of a mischievous nature in the opening cutscene to the dlc with her pretty much killing mugman by giving the astreal cookie just to test and brags about it untill it quickly wears off and her backstory is ambiguous she mostly already very obviously has a very clear role to her show counterpart on the other hand while not necessarily a villain and is depicted as having a few redeeming qualities show chalice is literally just a borderline fucking sleezbag the differences are most apparent with ms chalice in the game's she is essentially supposed this powerful sprit who is known as the legendary chalice who is implied to have previously been some sort of ancient warrior that died at one point presumably in a battle or something implying that she may be far older then her redesign in the dlc suggests in the show on the other hand she is was an orphan that grew up in an orphanage run by abusive child laborers and is aged down in this since of course it would be creepy to see an adult do nothing but constantly hang out with two adolescents and no one else their age none of the villians with the sole exception of the devil and cala maria have their supernatural power's king dice can't shoot evil card's out of his fingers nor can he change his size ribby and croaks can't send beams out of their fists and we have yet to see them turn into a slot machine as for the root pack sal doesn't spit dirt or parryible worms out of his mouth from my knowledge Ollie's tears are just normal cartoon tears and don't even seem to be on complete steroids Chauncey doesn't have any psychic abilities like he doesn't have hypnotic beams coming from his like hidden third eye and he doesn't use flying carrots baroness von bon bon can't even just like take off her head in this which just makes me assume that most of this just stimed from their deals with the devil especially since in cupstaged the devil interacts with Sally stageplay one of the bosses from the original game however they seem to leggitemitly know who eachother are despite her being one of the debtor's on the devil's list that cuphead and mugman needed to collext from among other thing's
