Completely agree. The amount of work it's taken me to claw my way back up has been astronomically higher than it took for my channel to climb back in 2011 & 2012. Considering let's play videos were dominating the homepage, I believe KZbin made the right decision to alter their algorithm to display more variety on the homepage for first-time users of the website. And then after you create an account and watch some videos and like them, KZbin takes notice of the interests and then offers you suggestions that are similar to what you like. I think their algorithm works well enough. There have been countless times it has shown me channels that I never would have discovered if they want randomly suggested. I found a few channels that I cherish.

Sigh. they do still make good content, but the creative magic is kinda gone. even if there were other games of equal creative power, they just don't seem to be willing or able to try and spark up a story like they did. Now It's combat games, gta maps, and multiplayer games. at least on the main channel. And on others, it's making their way through preset modpacks, random games, and vlogs. The epic tales, the accidental plot twists, the creativity, it's all just kind of gone. And as far as I can tell, nothing has really taken it's place. There doesn't really seem to be another outlet that creates anew tale so easilly anywhere. at least, if there is, It's no longer here. It's trailers, compilations, fact videos, and channels you already know. It makes you kinda sad.

I totally agree. KZbin completely shut down channels that focused around skits. Makemebad35 got hit very hard in 2012 and he barely gets views anymore. The algorithm change also affected viral videos. Before the change, videos could become viral on KZbin and get anywhere from 50-100 million views. Now, lots of videos get smaller amounts of views 1-3 million. Seeing a video become viral like the old days (2005-2011) is extremely rare. Most viral videos get 10-20 million views and that's mainly because of clickbait.

@@TheMasterIsHere Literally like half the people on yt are under 13. Also on the appstore I use the age for KZbin is "Everyone". That's why there's restricted mode on the normal Yt. Lots of KZbinrs acknowledge that and make their channel "Family Friendly". A bunch of younger friends of mine have a channel and they clearly announce their age, but KZbin doesn't really seem to care... Edit: Also KZbin kids was made for very young kids that are 4-10. 11+ are usually mature enough for the normal KZbin. If they aren't, then they can just keep using KZbin kids. It's more of a choice then a law, really.
