My 10-year-old nephew got a Switch for Christmas with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. He loved it. He kept saying stuff like, "Nintendo is actually pretty cool" and "Mario is a lot funner than I thought." It's fun watching a Nintendo fanboy be born!

What’s wrong with being a fanboy? Or fangirl?

I didn't realize the term fanboy was derogatory. All I'm saying is some people have systems that they tend to gravitate to. As someone who gravitates to Nintendo myself it was fun watching my nephew change preferences right before my eyes from Xbox to Nintendo.

I use the grip, and it's perfectly fine. In my opinion, the pro controller isn't really necessary. The D pad is one of the main attractions, yet it doesn't work reliably, along with the fact that it's 70 dollars just makes it ehh. I'd say it would be worth it if you're the kinda guy who would play for 16 hours straight, cuz you would need the ergonomics. But for those who play for hour or 2 hour sessions, it wouldn't be worth it. The grip is underrated imo.
@mx41597 жыл бұрын
I think it’s worth it just because of how good of a controller it is. As for the D-pad, it was never a problem for me because when I use d-pads I press the ends of it rather than closer to the base of it. It’s just a habit of mine
@antoniomiranda77537 жыл бұрын

ARMS was the best fighting game I've ever played in my life. What a fantastic and original game. Too bad it has a huge experience curve until competitive skill kicks in, probably why people left. I hope for a sequel, there were so many content updates its such a big game now, it was good to watch it grow.
@iownalx237 жыл бұрын
would also like a sequel. it did enough.
@TheChazzyC7 жыл бұрын
iownalx23 “it did enough” yeah in terms of content it did. I totally fucking understood anyone who didn’t buy the game when it first released because of the lack of content, I’m not stupid, I clearly understand that. But over time the content that’s been released has clearly justified the price tag and selling point. If anyone’s interested in playing competitively or joining the community and getting into ARMS, now is the best time. After the holidays, the community has been extremely active with new players joining. It’s a fantastic game and I hope Bandai Namco and the Mario Kart team can continue this IP and create a sequel

PIKMINROCK1 Sorry, I meant ARMS sold more than Tekken 7, that's what I heard from Obe1 plays anyway.

He's wrong still since Tekken 7 sold over 2 million by September (and is now approaching 3 million) and ARMS sold only 1.35 million by then. Unless all the new switch owners bought ARMS digitally starting in October, it's pretty likely to be behind. 1.35 million is still pretty respectable for a new IP though

Both the left joy-con losing connection and the Pro Controller having D-pad issues are known issues that Nintendo can and will repair. My friend experienced both of these issues separately so they sent the controllers in and got them back within a week completely fixed. Also, these issues were resolved in future builds so if you bought a newer version you wouldn't have seen it anyway.

So many people talk about innovation and what makes something a “game changer”. Graphics hit a peak with PS3 and 360. PS4 and XB1 were not graphically impressive on top of what we already got. Nobody was really blown away. The comments we got a lot of were “why couldn’t this be on PS3 or 360?” And the answer was that the games could be on the last gen console. Titanfall and Rise of the Tomb Raider are proof of that. The games look nicer and that’s about it. XB1X is very impressive graphically, but the CPU is hurting it. The fact that the thing can’t maintain 30fps is proof of that. The graphics chase is kind of the expected way to go. Nintendo Switch on the other hand is more powerful than the 360 and it’s portable. Graphically it is acceptable and there are so many options. Play it on TV, play it in handheld in a car, play it tabletop mode on a fuckin plane. Why the hell would I buy a game for TV play when I could get the version that lets me play anywhere in the world? Is the Switch perfect? No. Nintendo should have gone with the Tegra X2 chip instead of the X1 and there would have been far less compromises in the graphical power and possibly a better battery life. Biggest problem i have with the console is that the only charge port on the bottom meaning you can’t charge while in tabletop mode. There should have been a secondary charge port on the top or on the back. There are more hiccups, but despite all of that, I’d still say Nintendo Switch is a game changer. NEW Nintendo Switch will probably use the X2 chip and might have that secondary charge port. If it does become a thing following the 3DS line then I am going to get that thing as soon as I can.

VGChartz is ONLY physical. Nintendo literally said Arms sold 1.35m by the end of September. Will probably be over 1.5m by the end of 2017!
@TheChazzyC7 жыл бұрын
thats outdated. Physical sales were announced as 1.75 a month ago. People mainly bought digital. I expect it sold 3 million. Is that a crazy number, fuck no. ARMS almost made it to the top 5 best selling Switch games ever, but got knocked to 6th from Mario + Rabbids. With this in mind, its literally impossible that it didn't make above 3 million.
@LoomDoom7 жыл бұрын
No VGChartz is just *inaccurate in general* . They don’t have any credible information. The people there just make estimates based on what some of their friends in the retail business tell them. Nintendo’s financial reports and when they make individual updates on sales are the only credible information!

i recommend both now. ARMS has had huge fucking updates bring new content characters, modes, achievement systems, weapons, stages, etc. Splatoon 2, added a new mode, but a shit ton of weapons and stages. Same here l take my Switch out and put it in as slowly and carefully as possible but it has multiple scratches. Sadly l'm unlucky and have the left Joycon connection issue and the pro controller d-pad issue.

I feel like the Switch's launch titles Breath of the Wild (which won Game of the year) is a gorgeous game and Mario Odyssey where you nó longer get a game over screen kinda makes me feel worried if the next 3d Mario game will carry over the no game over screens and just have 10 coins or whatever they decide to do with it Sonic Mania on the Switch looks amazing even on a low powerful console its like it was made for it

I have that exact same problem with the switch pro controller’s dpad

I tried to pre-order a Switch and dumb Amazon messed mine up. But I still got one on launch day at Target!! Stood in the cold for 3 hours for it and it was worth it!

Did they forget Kirby and Yoshi in E3?
@LoomDoom7 жыл бұрын
José Luiz Dantas Jr. yes they did and the Pokémon announcement. Nintendo’s E3 2017 was amazing, GX left out some big announcements! Maybe that’s in the second part...

Maybe there's something between the controller and the console, for example if you hold it behind your back you can easily see that there is a bad connection with the analog stick test in the settings.

Speaking of Bill Trinen what happened to him? We'd use to see him all the time during Nintendo Directs and Nintendo events, and he's barely been a part of them this year as far as I can remember. I know he wasn't part of the E3 live stream, which I think he's been part of in the past years.

I did have the scratching problem despite my best efforts (warped dock) but a cheap glass protector prevents issues just fine

The pro controller has the same issue as the Wii U's d-pad (game pad, and pro controller). It's too squishy. Why can't we have a clicky d-pad like what the 3DS has? 38:27 I thought he said "Oshawott", but he was trying to say "assuaged". uh-swayjd

to be fair, in our country, USFII came in as a free game with a bundle with Breath of the Wild. Maybe that's why it sold so well.

Its really interesting to see a lot of people drop off from ARMS because I still love it quite a bit, and there are some days where I prefer it over Smash Bros. The simplicity of the combat system and the vast amount of ARM combinations you can have makes for some great mindgames between players, and thats what always brings me back to it. Overcoming a players winning strategy is a great feeling. I also feel the updates are great, and for someone who hasnt played Splatoon, its amazing to see this game expand this much all for free. I personally feel ARMS is one of the better competitive games Nintendo has ever made, and it is one of my personal favorites of the year.

I have been with Nintendo since 1993. I did go to PS/XB for a few years. But by god, I came back to Nintendo basically full time when I got the Wii in 2006. But regardless of my history. The Nintendo Switch has had an amazing year. God, I hope we get Animal Crossing and Pokemon in 2018.
