I've always had that question and my answer is just using any distro which runs all my games. Trying to run games the distros of one's choice will always be the correct answer since most of them basically use the same Linux kernel to communicate with the hardware. At the end of the day, the only thing that should matter is the ease of use i.e. the package manager, the out of the box UI/UX and the kernel version. Anyway. I really like gaming related videos! Keep 'em coming!

Thanks for your support, I agree with you and the distribution one choose should also have the best compatibility they want for their hardware (no matter if they chose to customize or using some built in features to achieve that)

I gotta say that you are the best linux youtuber I've seen. Giving us the best example of an end user installing a fresh linux install on a normal PC. And on top of that you give extremely relavent information to me. Convinced me to switch to linux next time I'm at my main machine. Now the only thing I need to see is how to get Call Of Duty (the newer ones like Mw19 - Cold War - Vanguard - Mw22 - Mw3(2023)) working consistently on linux. That so far is the only thing that will cause me the most pain if I were to switch since it is the game I play the most in recent time.

People who complain don't understand that this is like overclocking. Just like overclocking, most of the time the improvements are marginal, but we still do it because bigger number gooder. The most useful data is actually finding the quirks and reliability of the distros, more so than the benchmarks itself.

Thank you! Your video(s) and similarly also the one from Linux Next have helped me jump off of CachyOS and onto Tumbleweed. I've had severe stuttering in newer games like Horizon Forbidden West and under Tumbleweed, the game runs really smooth, 15-45fps better (yes, actually that much difference in the 1% lows). Also great find with the launcher difference. Really looking forward to the next video then.

People that say Manjaro isn't Arch are goofy. You can literally install whatever you want right from Chaotic AUR if you want, how is that not Arch?

I was thinking of deleting my Manjaro and installing CachyOS for playing RDR2 online mostly. So you are saying there is no point to this and v3 package doesn't do anything in gaming for the most part?

@@MumblingHugo I think you do not fully understand what x86-64-v3/4 optimization does. Games, running in Proton and not using native libs will not use these optimized libaries. It uses Steam's runtime, its an equal sandbox as when you use flatpak. Native games, together used with Steam Native indeed show an improvement.
