@@MaDDeX93 This video is a sponsored shill but IEMs really are the future of gaming audio imo. You can take them anywhere, they are super comfortable, and usually way cheaper (especially with so many new chi-fi options). I made the switch to IEMs completely around a year ago and haven't looked back. For what it's worth I was using $1600 headphones and moved to $500 IEMs so it's not like I was using trash and just upgraded. There are a lot of tangible benefits from losing the over ear headphone design.

Trust me, microphone is not a problem for pc gaming, you can buy a $10-$20 usb condenser microphone which will sound as good as a headset mic and doesnt require to even connect to your headset physically, you can seat it anywhere you want For iems, I would always recommend going for the best sound property for gaming, but personally I would never recommend iem for gaming/ or anything related to all time using on pc because the more you keep using iem, the more your ear is prone to issues, headsets on the other hand are way friendlier than iem (sure none of them are risk free but headset is wayy better in terms of long term usage to your ears)

Problem with Antlion products is that I had 2 versions of the modmic which lasted quite sometime and then the wire got loose then it won't be able to work anymore , so that left me with the impression that it won't last very long for these as well. Don't get me wrong , they make really good sounding microphones , i bet these sound great as well but to know that it's that expensive and won't last very long really isn't really attractive to me. My Sennheiser headset has been with me for almost 10 years , apart from replacing the earcups and top rest , cable has shown no problems whatsoever due to the locking mechanism which prevents any unintentional pulls to wear the connection over time. That is the benchmark for anything that has cable connected to devices.

Unfortunately its not wireless and wireless iems tend to have low battery life and bluetooth aptx low latency will switch to mono if the mic is used. I wanted a headset and mic that has low latency and bluetooth for phone calls and noise cancellation. The only solution I've found is the avantree aria pro v1 (not v2) paired with a DG60. It supports all the codecs you could want with ANC included. It uses their fastream tech that is 2.4ghz and when a call comes in on my phone it switches to bluetooth automatically. The podio version is the same as the pro but with a handy charging dock. Whats best is its super cheap! I'm surprised you haven't reviewed it! The only downside I've found is the sound is ok, but with some equalizer tweaks it sounds much better. My previous headset was the sennheiser 370 and no complaints but now I have both 2.4ghz pc connectivity, noise cancellation so i can focus more on gaming and auto switching to bluetooth on phone calls its most definitely an upgrade for me.

@@MKR3238 Yeah. For some people, iems are more comfortable because they're small and lightweight and nothing is pressing against the ears. But for me, full sized headphones (with oval shaped pads, so nothing should be pressing my ears) are much more comfortable because my ear hole (?) starts to become a bit painful after like 2 hours wearing iems, and the part where the wires hooks onto my ears also starts to pain bcuz the earhooks constantly rubbing against the skin. Not to mention i have the blessing 2 which is (in)famous for having an absolutely humongus nozzle.

I've been wearing open back headphones for years. I thought that the soundstage of IEMs would sound much more muted. I have a pair of Moondrop Arias and a pair of Salnotes Zero. I'm actually very impressed with the soundstage and at this point I prefer them to my open backs. I have them wired into an Audient Evo 4 so that I can hear my own voice when I talk. OK the kimura sounds really good with EQ but without eq its a little to heavy on the bass. The headset and wired modmic sound very nasalily to me, especially the original mod mic. Again to my ears the Corsair Virtuoso mic quality are still the best sounding headset mic out of everything I have heard. Two ways to fix the noise issue from cables and background. First if you have an Nvidia graphics card you can use Nvidia broadcast. Otherwise to get rid of cable noise but no noise cancelation is to make them wireless. Which is what I hope they do sometime in the future and make them 2.5GHz wireless because Bluetooth has to much latency even for 5.2-5.3/aptx

So I have a big question: I prefer open earbuds. I absolutely HATE nubs in my ears. But I do still want that good wireless ability and I would -like- to possibly get something that might have directional audio? I don't know enough about earbuds or audio tech enough to know if that's even something that might be counter-intuitive, but I hate wearing headphones, and I hate things being IN my ear too. So far, I've been using my Taotronics 88, which have been pretty fine so far. They got a nice bass, sounds pretty smooth... But when I try to connect them to my PC? Either one ear goes out, the other decides to try to be a mic, etc. All sorts of problems, and it's at the point where I just wanna get a new pair that hopefully WON'T be a pain in my ass. Would you have a good recommendation? I'm a bit spoiled at this point as these things are open earbuds, so they feel comfy. They got nice bass and good sound. But again, they don't pair worth dog shite with my PC, and I'm pretty sure they don't have directional audio (Though do any earbuds? Still learning here). Any ideas? Just again, no ear nubs in there, that always felt extremely uncomfortable to me.

I've always disliked IEMs personnaly. The feeling of shoving something into your ear canal always felt uncomfortable, and that's BEFORE I get to earwax issues. I have some pretty thick and abundant earwax, no matter how I clean. Given I see the doctor several times a year to deal with blockages that give me temporary deafness, voluntarily shoving something into my ear that may instantly make things worse feels like suicide to me. Since I've never tried IEMS in almost ten years, I wonder how they can even compete with large open-backed headphones or dedicated speakers when it comes to soundstage.

Im not sure I would want to acquire a independent soundcard just for casual mic EQ.

You don't need an independent sound card for basic mic EQ. You can use something like EqualizerAPO (assuming you are on Windows) to make adjustments to how your mic sounds for free. It is even compatible with VST plugins so you can do "proper" EQ. Also there are VSTs for noise suppression (I personally use RNNoise which seems to work pretty well with minimal quality loss). It is a bit more advanced than what you might be looking for but I definitely recommend checking it out (there are a bunch of tutorials on youtube).

Looks to be a much better option in comparison to the ADV. Nismo 3D and ADV. Nismo Jr IEMs. The mic boom on those two pairs of IEMs come directly out of the IEM toward your mouth, and the weight of the boom will often cause the IEM to wiggle loose from your ear during movements. The ADV. Nismo EIMs would benefit greatly if they would just redesign the cable to hook over the ear the same way that these do.

Ah, nothing like sending a scav flying in an offline Tarkov raid... not sure EFT is the best test for audio products, considering how broken audio is in that game to begin with (Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice might be a better choice for testing), but still nice to see somebody actually testing headphones with something instead of the typical unboxing and a bit of music.

I wish they would actually have a nice microphone that can match other professional headset mics from Shure, LD Systems, Sennheiser and so on. The idea is decent but has existed as separate parts for ages and with much much higher audio quality. It is fine for some voice calls but for everything else - nope, sound quality is not there.

I was apprehensive to switch to IEMs from my open backs but now that it's been a month or so I'm loving it. I'm just trying cheap chi-fi IEMs like Arias and Salnotes Zeros and I have them paired with an XLR mic. I'm loving the added comfort and the soundstage is excellent even compared to open back headphones.

This is exactly my concern too. Currently I use the Drop PC38X open back headset and like it a lot for sound but I would like to try something smaller and more comfortable. I can't imagine that the sound from an IEM will come close to an open back headset though. What made you switch and how do you compare the sound differences? I play mostly Rainbow Six Siege and Battlefield 2042.

@@skykingusa I switched for comfort and to try IEMs as I've never tried them before. They definitely sound better than typical earbuds. The soundstage is much, much better than I expected it to be. There is almost no discernable difference to me in game between open back and decent IEMs. I've been using open backs for several years and now I basically have no desire to use them any more. You can buy some pretty cheap IEMs to try out. The Salnotes Zeros are only $20. I would recommend it :)

I don’t use gaming headsets at all anymore. I use Edifier G5000 Bookshelf Speakers, Optical input to my LG G2 along with the G2 built in speakers. It sounds better than any gaming headset. The only reason to use gaming headsets is if you live in a high rise apartment or you’re gaming late into the night, playing games at 2AM.

I have also switched to IEM's and now have a headphone nostalgia wall. With IEMS in, why not have a mic stand and a higher quality mic. I never understood why this would be something someone wanted unless they game on a laptop on the go or something.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I get 0 head fatigue or hot ears from my OG Logitch G Pro X. Wasn't a huge fan of these headphones when I got them but with a decent EQ I was able to get the muddy sound out of it and they've been kicking for about 2 years now.

The problem is that the Aria has a recess 2 pin connection, and this cable has a flat end, so unless the pins are very long it won't fir the Aria, or any Moondrop IEM. Actually if I recall, only Fiio has that flat type 2 pin connection, but maybe I'm wrong.

Are IEM's as good as headphones in terms of audio quality? Might switch to one if it's just as good or better.
@nyathaniel.p7321
@nyathaniel.p7321 Жыл бұрын
depends on what kind of headphone, there are hi-fi headphones exist that has superior sound quality. But in terms average consumer headphones, yes IEM are far superior. You can buy 20$ ones like 7hz Salnotes Zero, or 100$ like Tripowin Olina SE. Their sound quality alone can beat Sony XM4s tenfold. You just need to find your preferred tuning since iems are tuned differently.

during the gameplay the sound from the game was so good. I remember getting the sennheiser gsx1000 after listening to it from a video you made, but eventhough i'm listening through them right now i've never been able to get it sound as good as that original video or this. Any pointers on how to set it up?
