I don't like cloud gaming because I'm spergy about input delay but I tried in-house streaming a few months ago and was very impressed by the low latency. Not really applicable to the value argument but if you have a PC and a good Wi-Fi hub, you can play games in bed no problem. Now I just need a device that actually feels good to hold and is more wieldy than the steam deck.
@Surms41 Жыл бұрын
I used nvidia remote play option on geforce experience, just to use it to stream "real-time" to my projector, so i had beat saber on my wall as well as on my PC. I can say, the input lag from looking at my monitor, to my projector was about ~10ms of response time. It was really cool seeing the low response time. I also was using Moonlight on another PC to attach to remote play.

Another big problem is good internet connection is just not posible in some countrys and you need to be close to the servers for low latency
@dann1_ Жыл бұрын
Have you heard about the experience of people with higher latency ? 4ms is pretty much non existent. My latency is about 45ms which is a bit over the minimum recommended (40 ms).
@Stouty Жыл бұрын
It would be significantly worse for sure, would definitely need optical-like latency for this to be viable imo, unless of course you're just playing casually
@Surms41 Жыл бұрын
45ms over internet or over LAN. Ive got regular cat5 cables for lan and response times are less than 10-15ms
@ltbingus Жыл бұрын
I’d say it’s worth checking out, Nvidia has a lot of settings within the software if you’re having issues. Try a few games in their “low latency mode” I believe it moves all priority to your system having the lowest latency possible at a cost of some quality
@superherobeatdown Жыл бұрын
Great video bro yeah that was my biggest concerns was high latency even streaming using ps5 was to my laptop using 5ghz transfer speed still had a lot of latency playing chiv 2
@benmak1039 Жыл бұрын
As good as game streaming is the added input latency is just not feasible in a fast paced competitive multiplayer game

And i guess with the recent news about Microsoft supporting the service going forward then Call of duty might become available to the service assuming the blizzard/activision acquisition goes ahead.

All the clips in this video were recorded with geforce now; Mordhau was pretty doable even at a comp duelyard level. If I could have used the 240fps option I imagine it would have been even better

Hey anyone wondering, because I do like this service! Any game that uses the steam workshop generally allows your mods! (Don't starve, Garry's mod)
@rmatt53 Жыл бұрын
I'm not a fan of subscription services because of how many times I've had the rug pulled out from underneath me. I don't want to sound foreboding or convince anyone not to try it. I just wouldn't go out of my way and buy a $300 chrome book, when you can just get a legitimate steam deck for $400. Pirating can save SOOO much money, and learning Linux helped me land my first IT job. Now I bought my desktop 12 years ago, DDR3 era tech, and I've only had to update my GPU (friend hand me down) and power supply(failed). I was thinking of spending 300 for some new top of the line cards, but I've also never run into a game demanding that much.
@Stouty Жыл бұрын
Arguably the deck doesn't compete with the chromebook, a more apt comparison would be the $50 adapter controller + an existing phone

pretty much echoed my feelings about Stadia. Granted, Stadia's library was way worse but the fact that I could pick up a controller at my television and be playing within 10-15 seconds, then go upstairs and fire up the same game from the same session on my PC in seconds, then even play it on my phone while at the laudromat later that day was just awesome.
@ltbingus Жыл бұрын
As a past and longtime member of GeForce now, it saved me from the frustration of playing on my terrible laptop. If you have better internet than your system I suggest you give it a shot. The free version has sessions, meaning you can play for 2 hours and once that time is up you are logged out, this is done so that all free users have a chance to play. The paid versions allow for longer/ indefinite sessions, and allows for some customization like post effects which is really fun to mess with since it’s all through their cloud based software. The only downside id say is that 1, the sessions can get annoying if the software is busy, and at times there can be a wait que 2, sometimes the latency can be a problem for performance, but luckily Nvidia has a lot of options for what style of stream you’d like to do, whether it be max performance or max quality.

Good video. I have tried Google stadia and Microsoft Xbox now thing. For stadia the latency was offputting, and for Microsoft the video quality was lackluster. Interesting to see that GeForce now is scoring quite well in these areas.
@YaGirlZero Жыл бұрын
Also, for anyone who has something like an Xbox, and reeeeeaaaasllly wants to play PC games, while often not well supported, it can be accessed and used from the built in browser, although you will have to overcome some glitches with interacting with the game navigator and login

I believe there was a service(or still is) where you get an actual virtual machine from a PC that you are renting where you can install stuff and change stuff as you like. Though I forgot the name and don't know if they are still in service
@Spokenword Жыл бұрын
"Shadow" works that way, though it comes with a hefty price tag
@RebelliousToe Жыл бұрын
GeForce Now would have a much stronger focus on reduced latency. A virtual machine would technically run whatever you want it to, but the experience may not be as ideal as what Nvidia offers
