Thanks so much for this. I go back to Road Avengers so many times. All the ingredients are wrong: Low interactivity, FMV, Sega CD dithering. Low bitrate sound, repetitive in the extreme. And yet. AND YET... The intro music kicks in. The animation is first rate, the story is cliched but shown so well... That music though... It gets me every single time... Just so much to enjoy. I hope they play this at my funeral lol. Seriously thanks to the Gaming Muso for this rendition. I come back to it time and time again.

As awful as they were, there’s a certain aesthetic to those CD titles that hits just right 👍 I loved getting to see James perform this live, and I’ve got his CD which is excellent.

I spoke to him a few months later and he was fine, just decided he didn't have the head-space for social media. He was off doing musician things and rehersing for a tour so I think he was ok, just SM didn't work for him and his mental health. 👍

@@RetroGubbins I heard he was touring but unless he toured under a different name I haven't seen anything. Last public performance I am aware of was Play Expo Margate.

@@RetroRespawn At the time, he said it was pubs and clubs, so probably not the kind of thing you'd see announced. I also don't know if he was touring with someone else. I do see him 'liking' things on Instagram, so he's still around and looking at stuff on there. Either way, I hope he's doing ok. I know Covid had a big impact on him so I wish him well 👍
