I got about 18 devices on it , firestick's 3 , wireless cameras 4, pc 1 , Playstation 1 , mobile cell 4 , wifi extender 1, and probably 2 iPads , no problem 👍

5g is not better, as a verizon customer, it sucks. 4g lite has faster speeds on mobile. Though also both att and Verizon has crappy service all around. I'm a truck driver, and have had issues with both companies and they don't care. I came in searching to swap and I heard about starlink from the x22 report as an advertisement and it peaked my interest. Edit: so I'm not interested in starlink anymore but I was informed about fiber internet from CEMC around my area, I've scheduled the install since talking with an individual that knows a lot more about these things, who does not work for CEMC but a tech expert and his father a hardware expert. They didn't just refer me to just CEMC, but I discerned the matter and found 80 bucks a month for a whole gig of internet would suit my competitive gaming nature suitable. I can get an up to date PC after doing some testing. Internet has always been an issue that forced me to play solo. Games and updates getting bigger these days, I'll definitely need good internet. When I get off work around 5:00, it becomes an unplayable packet burst mess. Latency under load (download and upload) is complete TRASH.
@digitalalchemy64149 ай бұрын
spectrum has a bad habit of overselling their available bandwidth. When I had them I found that every time they ran ads offering 'yet better speeds' their overall speeds would get slower due to the number of people on a single node. The correct answer would be no you cannot play online multiplayer games with starlink or any other form of satellite internet. The latency and ping spikes would be outrageous and would cause you so much frustration that you end up ripping your hair out and punching a hole in your computer monitor.

Forget competitive FPS, I want to know about coop games like an MMO, Warframe, Helldivers, space marine. These games don't have the same critical tolerances as FPS. Is doing a WoW raid a degraded experience? What about something like a helldivers or warframe mission? For PvP FPS, the answer is no and we already knew that. PvP FPS you want a direct line, you don't even want to use wifi for PvP FPS, nor a wireless mouse, so why would you use Satellite for PvP FPS?

You're misunderstanding the video - it's not 8ms to 34ms, that's the second-to-second variation. Like jumping from 40ms to 74ms in 1s.

Yeah and I can guarantee that you will never even think of seeing 40 millisecond ping or lower with satellite internet. It's just never going to happen. I'm tired of all these starlink shields coming on here and claiming that it works when in reality it does not work for online multiplayer gaming. Especially for those of us who are hardcore Gamers and are highly sensitive to Ping spikes and delays. I guarantee that if you use starlink you're paying will be well over 100 milliseconds at all times
@jensv8747 ай бұрын
Starlink will never compete with that at the price they are selling it for in my country. Maybe if they dropped the price from €50/month to €15/month. But even then the price/gb keeps dropping for mobile nerwork and our copper cable network just gives beter speeds and lower latency for cheaper then starlink. The G nework has a coverage of 99% here. So maybe he can get some money now if he drops the price a lot over here. But in the future competing against fiber (there is finaly a fiber revolution going on over here) and G network at a 99% covarage is going to be hard.

Because it's a highly competitive online multiplayer game where your ping matters more than anything else.
