Gaming PC Audio to your Streaming PC With El Gato Capture Card

This is a simple way to get your sounds from your gaming pc directly to your streaming pc using a capture card with a 2 pc setup.
Download elgato game capture software and audio capture software to your gaming pc
Download Game capture software only to your Streaming PC
On your obs set up a new source and select video capture device. within that select your capture card.
Now go to the audio source from the video capture device you just made and go to the little settings gear... click on properties and scroll down .
under the sound option select wave out.
now on your gaming pc open your sound capture software and select gaming pc option. Below for the first option on where your sound is going , select your capture card and for the second option select your headset or whatever you are using to hear the game sound yourself.
wait anywhere from 30secs to about a min for the options to register.
make sure on your windows audio source you have elgato capture card sound selected . and done..
For your mic just rightclick on the sound icon in windows bar and select sound.
select recording and find your mic.
now right click on mic and go to properties go to listen and make sure listen to this device is check and on the drop down menu select your capture card. and done

I have certainly been streaming with Elgato and OBS for about 2 months and had massive problems with the sound at the beginning. In the meantime I have solved this problems relatively well, but still not satisfactorily ... until today and thanks to your video. The problem: since I use the capture card, the sound came from my screen, but when i try to use the 3.5mm jack on the pc - silence. Same situation with my xbox one controller. What I have been missing so far was sound capture, which was not installed until now. Only with the software it's possible to redirect the sound on to my pc (and on the controller) instead of on the screen.

Obviously this works but u did accidently swap the settings in the sound capture area. "wat device is connected to" should be ur elgato and "where u want to hear" should be speakers or headset.

@@RoCkenBoCk can you explain to me a lil how you did it? i'm using a dual stream with a go xlr mini. everything works perfect except the audio from the game is not being picked up on the 4k capture utility or my streamlabs. do i need the sound capture program on both pcs running? i've been at it like 8 hrs + each day and this is my 3rd day. i've watched so many utubes and typed in so many reddit forums. it's becoming tiring. but i won't give up til i get it.

@@Senate9 I have not used the go xlr mini, honestly I just followed step by step how he explains it. I watched it with many many pauses/replays lol. But I hope with enough trying it will work for u. I know everyone’s dual stream set up can be different but I followed each step and I got it to work on stream with capture card no extra steps. You might have to add delay on your streaming pc using obs, render delay on filters I think. Just a heads up cuz I was a little worried the audio was not synced up.

It doesn't work. 1. You have a big, but a really big delay between your mic, webcam and desktop sound. 2. You can't hear any alerts (follow/subs). So I don't think this is the best way to stream with a dual pc.

Restart both PC's. Then go into your sound settings on your gaming pc by right clicking sound icon at the bottom right of windows. Click "Open Sound Settings". On the right hand side under "Related Settings", click "Sound Control Panel". Under playback, make sure that anything named "Elgato" is not disabled. It will be greyed out. This was my issue, and as soon as I enabled these sound options it worked for me.
