Reading all the comments with people saying they never changed their monitor's refresh rate tells me that microsoft really should implement a feature that automatically sets the highest possible refresh rate when plugging in a monitor. Or at least have a popup notification telling the user they can change their refresh rate with an "accept" button, so they don't accidentally skip the message.

One upgrade that is super underrated is a headset with proper surround sound. I got my steel series arctis pro wireless headset after desiring one for 5-6 years and boy when I say it's worth it, I mean it. I went from barely being able to understand whether someone is upstairs or downstairs in some games to being able to keep track of the exact location of every sound naturally without moving my perspective an inch and it's mainly thanks to the software that comes with the headset and its ability to adjust whether the surround sound aspect is immersing you in the game or simply making extremely accurate and separate sound queues in addition to being able to adjust the distance at which sounds are heard from the user. I've had an issue where when I can hear the sounds accurately, they end up scaring me when they are too close, but with the adjustable settings that Steel Series provides with their software I was able to make the sounds far enough to not scare me, but accurate enough to tell exactly where every enemy is at all times without shifting my in-game view from where I'm aiming.
@orionizaqt29 күн бұрын
Good open back stereo headphones are better than any "gaming" headset with surround sound. The surround sound those have is fake. It's just software trying to emulate real surround sound and it's not that good really. Most, if not all competitive shooters have spatial audio built into the game/engine that works better than the software any gaming headsets use. Spatial audio in games is usually meant to be used with stereo headphones and might even break sounds with the fake surround sound that gaming headsets use. I used to have the same headset as you, but I'll never go back to them after switching to a pair of open back headphones. I head far more than I ever did with any gaming headset, and the sound quality is significantly better.

I think there’s another big reason why people get pain other than just heavy mouse with slow pad. And that’s terrible ergonomics. I used to be guilty of this. I aimed with my wrist, while sitting too low and it fucked my wrist so bad. I had so much tension. Getting the right chair height, desk height and position makes aiming with your full arm possible and easy. That’s the biggest aspect to reducing pain or strain. Yes. Lightness is better in general but I think with good posture and form one could avoid pain easily despite a ‘heavy’ mouse. That said, aiming precisely would be harder and I’d recommend a light mouse AND changing seating position for someone experiencing pain.

that is very true. Good mouse shape and ergonimics >> weight. I have been doing a ton of research and have looked at countless videos about glass mousepads, specifically the wallhack sp-04, and the one thing that is mostly consistent with a lot of people is how your arm or wrist sticks to the mousepad. The only exception to this rule is if you live in a colder climate or wear an arm sleeve, which I am not going to do either. Also the fact that I live in Florida and how it is usally very humid also makes it worse for me maybe I might buy a glasspad sometime in the future, but I decided to buy the artesian raiden mid and I am willing to maintain it weekly with washes.

Very based take on mousepad, despite many in here disagreeing. Glass mousepad is genuinely the biggest mousepad you can upgrade and truly is endgame IMO. It will make your aim better with time and far better than cloth mousepads when you get the hang of them. Also skates can make the mouse feel more controlled on glasspads if control is an issue, making the glass pads more usable to noobs.

Ive done quite a bit of testing with what causes arm/elbow pain from gaming, and the mouse is actually quite far down the list. I had this confirmed by an ergo therapist, but the main reasons you get pain in your arm is seating position and your relation to the table more than anything

A high refresh rate monitor (OLED's now are meta) and a relatively powerful PC plus a lightweight mouse is all you need for competitive play. And at least 1K polling on mouse and keyboard. But I think finding the right mouse shape that fits ones own hands and playstyle is more of a larger factor. As if you can't physically aim and click accurately, no amount of hardware upgrades are going to help to such a degree of making you a better player. But yeah moving mice to lets say an old and dated & heavy wired/wireless mouse; to a 2023/2024 mouse, with a 3395/3950 sensor and at sub 59g one. Would be a massive upgrade I suspect.

I am late to this but for mouse skates and mouse pads they all depend on what game you play, e.g. I play valorant and it’s better to have good stopping power and control pads rather than rly smooth/slippery skates and mouse pads. I use the g pro super light 2 and a cloth mousepad and imo the stock skates r rly good bc it’s both smooth and has good stopping power, it is just my opinion. For games like Fortnite, apex or any tracking game it’s better having glass skates or glass pads.

Hey, I really am wondering if I should get the new Logitech g309 because it's an upgrade from the g305 . What do you think?
@madnessman15204 ай бұрын
If your spending around 70 quid on a mice or more on a mouse, it pretty much comes down to personal preference
@matejnemec30223 ай бұрын
G309 is kinda shit. M hose G3 seems to be the updated g305 u want. Or try atk blazing sky F1/F1 ultimate. Also pretty much the same shape and the F1 Ultimate is amazing, best mouse I ever owned ( g305 ->superlight-> F1 ULTIMATE).

I've always been stubborn about my mouse. I've been using a Bloody A70 for years, ever since I got into the Minecraft high cps scene. I just don't want to lose drag clicking, or destroy a LOGITECH mouse by trying to drag click on it. The only thing I hate about the new Wooting 60HE and others, as that none are ortholinear.

Agree with everything except glass mousepads. Makes zero sense for most people. There's a reason why most pros don't use them.
