For me, as a long-time Resident Evil fan, RE Village was dull, monotonous with tedium and just does not fit into the RE Universe very well at all, Ethan was very fleshed out, the actual Chris Redfield returning was great and honestly the section where You take control of Chris at the end of the game was the best part. RE Village was okay generally overall, but, definitely lacked much of what made the franchise so great and most definitely build on the tension or survival horror that made RE 7 Biohazard such a masterpiece.

I think this should of been split into single player and multi player. Both will have their respective attractions. You can't compare the two types together. Tarkov being one of the most complex multi player games with bullet speed/drop/player load out etc of current times and comparing it to a single player campaign games, " point and shoot" like Doom or Duke nuke 'em 3d are worlds a part. I do agree some games are worlds a part but out dated now due to graphical ability at the time like Golden eye, but golden eye was mainly single player marketed (although had fun in multi player with friends) I personally feel the best games are ones yo can play over and over again but play certain scenarios differently to change the out come of the story/battle.

TimeSplitters was the final evolution of the Goldeneye formula. So, I can understand someone putting TS games on their list over goldeneye or perfect dark, because the TS games are objectively superior FPS games that take the formula further.

Half Life was a game ahead of its time and in my opinion one of the greatest of all time. the first one.

How is Doom not mentioned even once? And a lot of people sleeping on Rage 2. That game is an overlooked gem. STALKER is great and all but if you're going to play that today, look no further than the uber modded version in STALKER GAMMA. What STALKER GAMMA is should become a new subgenre of shooter. I think it's perfect for anyone looking for an immersive survival horror experience.

I played a story mode game a couple of decades ago and I can't remember the name of it, so if anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it! In the game, the main character was similar in style to the character who appears on the cover of the game Uncharted (but this is not the game) and he starts with a pistol, in a night scene. What really caught my attention was that whenever the character used his pistol, I would hold down the right mouse button and the handle holding the pistol would become "energized" yellow. The game's story didn't seem to take place in an ultra-technological world, so I came to the conclusion that it was a special power of the character. I played it on PC!

OK, as a lifelong FPS fan, this is a pretty crap list. Not a single Doom entry? No Quake? Call of Duty? Return to Castle Wolfenstein? Unreal Tournament? Dark Forces? Perfect Dark? Turok? No One Lives Forever? Extend it to immersive sim FPS games, and the list is even more galling. No Deus Ex, Bioshock, Prey or Dishonored. There are definitely some stone-cold bangers on here, but overlooking the genre-defining, still-fun-as-hell classics in light of the likes of Splitgate and Bulletstorm is pretty much unforgiveable. SMH.

Yeah Resistance 1 is a masterpiece , though I feel that it's not recognised because of its inspirations being tied down to halo.

@@logiclunacy606 Halo also took inspiration from a ton of other classic FPS games that came before it as well (1991 - 2000), and simply took the gameplay, ideas, concepts, features, modes, etc., that previous classic FPS already set, and simply put it in a shinier 2001 package. A lot of people don't realize that Halo is not very original in its gameplay nor it's concepts, which is why it's one of the most overrated series ever, in my opinion. Same thing goes for Goldeneye 007, which is also overrated as hell, when games like QUAKE 2, HEXEN, and TUROK came out the same year in 1997, which were not only technically superior, but also had superior gameplay, features, and more as well, while you couldn't even jump in Goldeneye 007.

@@BasedDoomSlayer Yep, I was around then. The Resistance Devs I think had like a video on the development of resistance and it specifically outlines halo as an inspiration. The original concept was actually set in the future not the alternate past timeline like it ended up being. Regardless Resistance 1 came out when Halo was at its most popular and since the 360 was Microsofts most popular console, a lot of people on the otherside just dismissed it as a knock-off.

I have to agree about Black , it was a fantastic game , it was only released on PS2 (if i remember correctly) as they were releasing PS3.. That was unfortunate timing on the developers behalf , but the PS3 was not backwards compatible at that time so it was largely forgotten , I wish they would do a remake of it ...
