Let me say one thing, I found SO MUCH VALUE in this tutorial. This was literally my first ever project in After effects; whenever the next step didn't match Pete's look, I just rewinded a few seconds back, and got back on track. That wouldn't have been possible if Pete wasn't as DETAILED as he was. My goodness, if I needed more help in After effects, I honestly would pay for his courses because I know his teaching skills are 10/10. With Pete's help, I was able to make a killer stinger transition for my new stream! just completed the stinger transition for myself and it was quite a journey ... i couldnt get the light sweep tp work correctly i dont know what i was doing wrong but maybe ill try again soon .... the video was awesome and very informative ... ive learned so much about streaming through this channel $$$$$

I can tell you what i did wrong. i didnt press the stop watch on the effect position, but instead i pressed "p". that doesnt work for effect position.

Really useful tutorial, didn't have too much trouble following despite never touching after effects before. A couple tweaks I tried to get better results: (1) Don't increase the scale of the logo circle in the track matte composition. If you do, it'll show a sliver of the wrong scene around the moving logo. The ring of white on the track matte doesn't actually matter because it's covered by the colored ring from the stinger, and the track matte is only relevant for areas that are transparent in the stinger. (2) Instead of sending to Adobe Media Encoder, add to render queue and use the "High Quality with Alpha" preset. The webm output was noticeably degraded with aliasing around the circles and I couldn't figure out how to get better quality with any of the settings I tried.

for the people who mess up the transition by deleting things like the logo mask and stuff in stinger transition (19 minutes in) instead of doing it in track matt just swap their positions around and it would work the same as if you never screwed up (also put stinger at the bottom)

I followed along and it turned out absolutely great. Two things I'd love answers on. 1. How would I change the colours of the circles etc once they have been done if I change my mind on which ones from my brand I would prefer to use. And 2. Is there a way to have the transition blur the background of the first scene and second scene to fade in and out as the scene changes to make the stinger logo stand out more. Great tutorial but unfortunately something's changed with AE. I get weirdness with the circle and the mattes. Main thing is when your logo moves to the right it reveals a empty circle - mine's filled in. Mine also 'blinks' to the smaller size. Tried 3 times to run through the tutorial but the behavior is different in AE somehow. The only way I got it to work was to cover that circle completely. Took me about an hour to figure it out. So it still works minus the empty circle for the reveal (at least for me anyway). EDIT - After 2 more tries it still appears the circles are different sizes. At 1 second the intro circle disappears and a smaller circle is revealed. It's a abrupt change that's a little ugly. Also, when the logo moves away, the circle left behind is colored not empty. Not sure how that was done. Maybe a setting that's different in my AE? Are there some settings with the masking I should be looking at?
