I love this game too, I actually been putting together a whole playlist of videos of people talking about it, reviewing it, a couple streams/let’s plays, and I even found a video of the beta version of it.

I also love this game. I'm so happy to see others who appreciate it. I'm sad it didn't go big enough, I would've loved a 3ed title.

@ Me too, I’m such a big fan. I’m sad they never got to a 3rd game too, though I don’t like how 2 ended. I’d love a reboot, but keep most of it the same, especially the first game.

I’ve had Aftermath since 2010 I think, but I didn’t get to play Obscure 1 until like 2 years ago when I bought it on X-Box and got an actual old X-Box to play it (it was cheaper than buying a PS2 copy. So I’m a little jealous you’ve had both of them like that. I’m playing to but a PSP and get Aftermath for it sometime this year. I’m trying to collect the game, since it’s one of my favorite horror series.
@Sharticus94Күн бұрын
@@adamsmoberly ive got tons of old games i got my first job delivering the local newspaper just at the tail end of the ps2 era and bought pretty much everything i could get my hands on, ive got tons of games ive never even opened.
@adamsmoberlyКүн бұрын
@ I definitely get that. One was always hard to find when I was first looking for it back in the late 2000’s and early 2010’s, when I got into horror games. So it took me like 12 years (and remembering the game) to finally get it. Not the best copy, but it plays, so I cherish it.

@adamsmoberlyКүн бұрын
Oh my gosh, I’m so giddy. Very one in the past couple years have been playing these games and making videos, so I’ve made a playlist full of videos on it. So not only am I glad I get another one to add to my collection, it’s one about the story (which is a little bland, but definitely a good story), so I’m even more happy; I love your videos, very fun to watch. I did notice that the game apparently got things wrong in the story (which the second game does too, like having Shannon call Kenny her little brother in the second game, when she’s younger than him), with them hiding not in the cafeteria before school ends, because the cafeteria is in another part of the school, so maybe it’s a detention room? (Definitely looks like one). And I don’t know if you played the original PS2 or the Steam version, but I have the Original X-Box version and it actually changed at least a couple things (like escaping the library after Mr. Walden takes the map and locks them in, you originally had to unlock the second story door by going into one of the classrooms and push a random bookshelf out of the way (a call back to the first part of the game) to get into another classroom for a key, while in the Steam version you just used the bolt cutters to cut a chain lock and there was like a 16 second cut scene from one of the monster’s POVs when you entered that upstairs hallway). And I’m kind of surprised you couldn’t find the second game as easy; I’m in America and it’s way harder to find 1 over 2 (which is just called ObsCure: The Aftermath here), though I got my copy back in 2009/2010, when PS2 games were easy to find in stores. But anyways love the video and can’t wait to see the second part, because that story is while and 😬. And I also recommend TotallyPointlessTV’s ObsCure video to anyone reading my comment, definitely a good deep dive into the game and he actually talked about a few things I’ve never noticed while playing/watching it being played.

How have I never heard of or seen anything about either of these games before? These are amazing. I love how these games look. There is so much about this era of gaming that I appreciate. The current game industry needs to explore, study & research all the things that worked in previous game generations and implement that back into our current present day video games..
@WitandwitlessКүн бұрын
Holy crap I think this was a game I remember seeing on X-Play years ago! All I remembered about this was the joke about how Doom 3 made you choose between having a gun and a flash light while this game has the dumb jock that's smart enough to know you can take some tape put the flashlight on the gun. Yep just confirmed the Wikipedia article even called that skit out!
@Cooe.Күн бұрын
Doom 3's gameplay only worked because you couldn't use the flashlight and gun at the same time. All the remake versions completely ruined the game by letting you use both at once. 🤷

Me too and with how the story is more simple, it’d be amazing to make. I do think I’d add in a 6th female character to have, so they could give each of the characters a skill of their own (Shannon being a healer and having the room check ability Josh has (I don’t think it fits him), Josh as telling you what to do next and having access to certain parts of the school, Ashley being a cheerleader (I think it’d make sense) able to be lifted to climb up and having stronger chances of taking down enemies easier with guns and melee weapons, Stan being able to lock pick and lift up Ashley and move heavy objects easier, the new female character (who I think should be goth) is able to hack into computers and crawl into small holes/under things, and Kenny a fast runner and able to lift Ashley and move heavy objects).
