@@Marcusianery No, the sun will start to expand as it runs out of hydrogen and helium until it turns into a red giant. The core will continue to fuse heavier and heavier elements as it gets hotter and more dense. Earth will be irradiated and scorched into a lifeless rock long before that happens and eventually most of the inner planets will be absorbed by the expanding red giant. Nuclear fusion at the core will eventually stop when the core starts to fuse into iron. Once that happens our sun will no longer be able to maintain equilibrium with its own gravity and collapse in on itself and then explode in a supernova. It's too small to turn into a black hole so it'll wind up a white dwarf. This is, of course, billions of years in the future.

The world of this game sounds horrific. I don't want to live forever, neither do I want my body "repossessed" by the government, and there are enough other people out there who hold bodily autonomy as an important boundary that I don't think the government could actually pass a law to force it... but they'd probably try if they had the chance. God, I hope they never do. Death is a part of life. It's sad, but I think it's one of the reasons why taking joy in the people and world around you are important- they, and you, won't be there forever. Remember, folks- the government doesn't own you, and the government *shouldn't* own you.
@GiRR0074 ай бұрын
Do you really own something if you cant sell it or even give it away? If someone does indeed sell their body to the government then id say that yeah the government does own them. Something being a part of life doesn't mean it should continue to be part of life, disease is part of life and yet we routinely get rid of them, death is no different, the ultimate disease.

It strikes me as a bit derivative of Altered Carbon in setting and premise, where it's a semi-dystopic, noire future where technology has allowed effective immortality and uncoupling the consciousness of a person from their original physical form, and the wealthy and powerful abuse it. But maybe it's more of an homage. And then again, if "immortality" is the trope, it's all derivative of the Epic of Gilgamesh.
