I have a very naive question. If the virus outbreak turned people into stage 3 freakers, then after that, did that virus stop spreading? Like, were there new people turning freaks? if yes then how? Why did O'brian got infected and not Deacon, who plays with freaks everyday?

The story and game had more holes than a Spielberg movie....
@hereliestales2 жыл бұрын
@@homieknowme223 The virus was airborne and likely only infected sick or compromised people. Once that has spread to all it can, the virus is no longer infective and drops off therefore making it no longer contagious because you're not producing enough infectious particles in the airways needed to spread virus to another individual. That would only leave two possibilities, whoever survived is immune or is infected but is dormant, which is not unlikely. Stage 3 is either an extreme rare form that only a select few are or an "evolution" as said within the story. My theory is that stage 3 is the NERO injectors Deacon uses throughout the game. Small strains isolated by NERO and engineered so that it can be safely injected into a compatible host which Deacon is and would explain why he get's stronger without the effects of losing your mind. The injecting may result differently, as to why O'Brian looks like that, or maybe that is how everyone becomes, can't really say.

When I played this game, I felt like the story didn't actually start until Deacon and Boozer move to Lost Lake. Initially, I saw this as a flaw, but now I think it sort of immerses the player in Deacon's state of mind. Before Lost lake, nothing you do feels particularly important or connected, you just go scavenge and do jobs, which actually fits with Deacon feeling lost and without purpose at this time apart from helping Boozer and the vague plan to migrate north (for no true reason other than it might help them survive longer up there). Once you do move to Lost Lake though, you and Deacon start working on long-term goals and have a renewed sense of belonging and purpose as you connect more with the Lost Lake community than you did with the camps in the starting area. Deacon now has something greater than survival to fight for, and a place to bring Sarah back to when the dust settles. I don't know if that was intentional on the developers behalf, or if the way they cut their story together just worked out this way, but I think it does work well.
@6oingnorth2 жыл бұрын
Love this idea. Coupled with the occasional trips to Sarah's grave, really made that first part make you feel like so much time has passed and made the climax so much more rewarding. Like everything leading up to that moment was all worth it. It's such a long game and the soundtrack while riding through the mountain pass was such a journey to me.

The rage he feels when killing ambushing marauders and the vengeance he gladly dispenses on the Rippers. This game is so amazing, it’s overlooked and underrated by so many, I keep coming back to Days Gone, it’s the game that in my opinion has had one of the best survival features in that genre, it also depicts an amazing story and slowly but surely ties everything together, with Carlos, lost lake, Sarah, Nero, and more, I really do hope they create a second game, just to extend the storyline and give us a better understanding of the virus, deacons past, and how things fell in place the way they did, the way they made this game with the zombies, the craftables, the storyline, the weapons, the adrenaline rushes when you are running from a horde just makes the game so intriguing, not making a 2nd game in my opinion is a grave mistake, I also love the way he has pieces together the storyline, not going into detail and giving us some theories, for example deacon not being able to swim because of his ptsd, who is coming at the end of the video as well, this is probably the best explanation I’ve ever seen about this games storyline.

That was a very well done lore vid, I really enjoy this game and have played it through many times since it 1st came out on ps4. I kinda felt at the end that O'Brian really felt bad but had to let deacon know. It seemed like they had a comraderie of sorts? I didn't get that he wanted to attack him, more like maybe grab his arm to say he was sorry? Anyways nice job man.
@Jay99663 жыл бұрын
Lol, I think if he wanted to, O'brian could've overpowered Deacon, he has superhuman strength or something doesn't he, the way he leapt onto the chopper.

Just started playing this as late to the party but I think it’s a great game, the open world and graphics are amazing, the gameplay mechanics and controls are great. And likeable characters, and running out of ammo or fuel,for your bike in the middle of nowhere really does give you a feeling of isolation and helplessness. It’s sad this doesn’t get the attention it deserves I think it’s wonderful

I feel as though the Stage 3 mutation is rather odd, as if it was at least partially present in the Freakers in Oregon, we should’ve seen something. There’s also the issue of how the disease is transmitted, because it does appear as though most of the people still alive in Oregon possess either a resistance or a flat out immunity to the virus. If it was as infectious as it was in the beginning weeks, Deacon and others should’ve been turned, and after the world went to Hell, they were hunting and killing Freaks, to no ill effect apparently, which says to me that everyone not part of NERO is either highly resistant or immune to the virus.
@5822huron2 жыл бұрын
Uh! Everyone hasn't has covid either. Just imagine if it were capable of doing this to us. My wife and I would be freakers
@decimation97802 жыл бұрын
@@5822huron My dad and brother have covid, they’ve been living in the same house this entire time. I haven’t even been touched by it. It’s more that the disease responsible for creating the Freakers clearly has lost most of its infection rate since it was accidentally unleashed upon the world, it can no longer travel through touch or by air or even water. Looks to be that you cannot be infected now, you could only be infected during the beginning days of the end. The freakers around now are all that remain, as there don’t appear to be any more being created. O'Brian seems to think that the disease is still highly infectious, but going by what we see in the game throughout multiple months, the disease seems to have died out, only leaving those it infected behind. The Freakers are still mutating, meaning some version of the disease is alive within them, but it can no longer infect others, either because it’s lost it’s high infection rate, or because everyone that didn’t turn into a Freaker is now either highly resistant or outright immune to the disease, which I’m betting is the more likely answer due to how the human immune system works.

@@GamingHarryYT Yeah or another game company. We need and deserve a part 2. It's not a cliché game. I really liked it. Especially the hordes too I did the small ones early on, and the 3 camps helped me out attacking the base (lost lake and Copeland's camp are my favorite). I spend a lot off hours into this game. And soon I do another playthrough. It's not for everyone. But if it's bad like IGN says why are there a lot off people literally signing a petition for a part 2. I freaking love the game!

I watched TheRadBrad's series on this game and it raised my interest in it. Still, it's on my radar: a biker gang protagonist (an enforcer turned nomad to make peace on both sides) searching for his wife after a two-year war with the Freaks that has left the entire Days Gone world in shambles. I love it.

i remember seeing this game not doing so good, so i didnt buy it upon release. 3 years later i bought it on sale and tried it, and i loved it wholeheartedly. the fact that Days Gone 2 was scrapped before it could even begin development is heartwrenching to me, as the story was amazing, the gameplay was awesome and the characters were memorable and lovable. hell, they even had the Main Character, Deek be modeled and acted by the most lovable actor i have had the honor of meeting! Sam is such a blast to talk with, and an incredible actor! they blew a hole in their own knee not making a second game... sort of like Disney is currently actively shooting themselves in the knees by allowing Acolyte to air or even be made at all by the people that made it...

Keep in mind when it comes to how Deacon got involved in the MC life. It's actually very common for military vets to seak out that lifestyle as the feeling of brotherhood is very similar to that in the military. That and because some MC's do deal in questionable moral activities, and you see Deacon with a 1% patch. Tells me his military training has probably proven handy to the MC.
