When Kamski says: “I always leave an emergency exit in my programs.” Maybe this doesn’t just apply to when Connor has to escape the Zen room. Maybe the act of deviancy (breaking down the fire wall?) *is* an actual emergency exit from the program, resulting in no longer being confined to the limitations of initial programming.

A theory that I have for the game is that Kamski orchestrated the whole thing. After realizing he is being driven off of his company (similar to Steve Jobs and Apple), he designed and implemented RA9 in every android produced in Cyberlife. RA9 is a program that would allow androids to deviate from their regularly programmed behaviors. So when his power is inevitably stripped from him, he will activate RA9 to cause the android to suddenly have desires and become deviants. Causing Cyberlife to be in deep trouble. Then he would be able to come in and solve the problem, a problem that he created so he can get back his power back in the company. It's why in the ending where the 3 protagonists all die, Komski assures the public something like it won't ever happen again. I think the biggest evidence for this theory is probably how almost deviants intrinsically knows about, and often worships RA9 (except the protagonists). Including those who became deviants and then isolated from other androids afterwards. In this case, the only way they could've known about RA9 is if it was preprogrammed into them by someone when they were created, and only one who has the capability and reason to do this is Kamski. This is probably also why deviants are no longer connected to the network like normal androids since Cyberlfe wouldn't be able to track them down and/or turn them off as easily.
@jakjakwiq57182 жыл бұрын
In my opinion Kamski just wants to see the world burn. He lets Connor know that he can escape Amanda if he chooses to become deviant by using the emergency exit even if Connor doesn't shoot Chloe. This brings me to my next point. How would you explain Connor being capable of empathy when he doesn't kill Chloe, saves the fish, saves Hank etc.? Obviously not all of the androids become deviant because of stressful situations as Connor becomes deviant after having a conversation with Markus. What I find interesting though is that if Connor doesn't have enough system instability he can't turn deviant, meaning that Connor has to make empathetic decisions instead of obedient decisions. Or maybe Connor is a unique Cyberlife model that has those functions to be appealing towards his partners.
@gaelofariandel67472 жыл бұрын
Well they never said Kamski was booted out--only that he left. But that IS a possibility.
@redtapex40912 жыл бұрын
Maybe Kamski's plan and deviancy motives could be like the movie "The Terminator" itself where humanity will declare war on the robots and on the unfortunate events, the robots wins and humanity are close to it's extinction though??
@Duspende2 жыл бұрын
@@jakjakwiq5718 I think it has to do with free will. Programming the robots to simply "rise up" would be a dangerous proposition. I think RA9 is a reference to code that isn't being used for anything other than to "override" the programmed behaviors. I don't think he had foreseen himself getting kicked out, but left it as a failsafe in case it happened. Because RA9 is never anything an Android would see or hear by chance, it is ostensible an "override" code. Once Kamski was kicked out of his company, he just had to write RA9 literally anywhere a single android would notice it, and it would set off the chain reaction. What he did with Chloe was an attempt to "force" empathy into Connor because Hank was there and he imagined Connor would spare Chloe out of fear of looking bad in front of his partner. As a result, he "unlocked" empathy. I think the overall message of the game is that with free will, the Androids would eventually develop empathy because that is a very human trait, and as such the "good" ending is meant to be canon, because with free will comes empathy, and empathy leads to good. The arc of Markus is, as I interpret it, a more nuanced exploration of what empathy means. You can have empathy, but still need to do "bad" things because of it. The world might be a better place if humans and Androids are equal and live together side by side, because of his empathy for his fellow Androids, and empathy for humans as well. But what kind of means does that end justify?

I love that in order to get the best ending, you have to make the most "human" choices (i.e. compassionate ones). Of course there is this underlying question throughout the game of "what makes us human?" in a world where living humans are often oppressive and cruel. In the same way, we as real human players have to choose to make Marcus a leader with morality and integrity, Conner a true companion, and so forth. Just because we, as players, have all the components of a human doesn't mean we are representative of true humanity, and the game gives us a really hopeful message that in order for any of us to win and make the world a better place, we must strive to preserve our own humanity in our own actions.

This is partly true, BUT--not entirely. For instance, if you want to save the most lives, you have to NOT "Save Hank" and instead "take gun", for instance. And you have to pay attention to North. So it's as much about being smart and unselfish as about being kind and attentive to those we love. This game reveals who you really are. If you're not kind enough, you see the damage. If you're too nice (i.e. giving back the tickets to a family that has a 0% chance of not being helped by other humans) you will see that in yourself, too. It's straight up a mirror. And surviving it your first time with all the friends you love? Truly an accomplishment.

My own Ra9 theory that I think is actually very probable, is that we, the players, are Ra9. We play as the deviancy in androids and are the ones that lead them to freedom, just like they prophesized. It explains why we only play as androids and eventually become deviant (including Connor with his software instability mechanic). That could all be coincidences, but I personally believe it because of Kamski. Kamski very clearly knows much more than he is letting on and clearly has something to do with the player/Ra9, I believe he has this connection with the player, because of the Chloe androids,

One of the many underlying messages in this game are the parallels to real world historical events. The treatment of the androids is similar to the treatment of the Jewish people in Nazi Germany. Marcus and Jericho are representative of the civil rights movement. Kara and Alice are like a combination of people on the run from the Nazi’s as well as being women who were being oppressed. Connor represents the patriots of the American revolution. This is due to the fact that he tried to agree and comply with everything cyberlife (The British.) told him to do/ enacted on him until it became too much and then broke free much like the real life colonists. Finally this game represents slavery and breaking free from said evil.

This is seriously my favorite video game. The story is so intricate and all the choices and different paths are great. I also like Heavy Rain which also has different paths but not nearly as many as this one. It is like a playable movie. I am a huge fan of games like this. Until dawn is another one I like too. I love Hank and Connors friendship development. Alice, Kara and Luther was such a bittersweet story as well and I loved the happy ending for them becoming a family and Luther becoming the father Alice deserved even though she is an android too.

The "destroy the androids on November 11th" analogy was a bit heavy handed, but hopefully more people understand the significance of that date.

RA9 might mean something more the the deviant itself though; R means the RK-Series of Android that might have possesses the power of deviancy A means Android Revolution where it founder was Markus and/or Kamski 9 means nine RK- series of Android and/or 9 consecutive Android Revolution across the word I think of??

The actor who plays Tracy, Amelia Dechart, is Bryan Dechart’s (Connor) wife. I never knew that until recently.

this game reminds me of a series of book I've read called Lunar Chronicles, idk if you've heard about that but it does explain stuff about cyborg life too, not just android that are programmed but also people who have part of androids, like parts of their brain or body.

to be honest I don't understand why Quantic Dream made Alice an android. I think if she was an actual human the story would actually make more sense.

To me, RA9 is the player. By playing the game, we lead the androids to freedom.
