Just got my new keyboard few days back and few of the switches were kinda delayed registering the input. Thought I need to return it to the seller, but now they're working! Thank you very much for your tutorial! I'll do this first before replacing new switches if the others facing the same issue.

i recommend waiting atleast 12 hours, if not you might short your keys and you will have to replace them.

Technically you can, not too hot though. But even then it might take time to evaporate completely. I just pinned the comment so that I wouldn't be liable if anyone's keyboard explodes or something.

Most keyboard keys are quite resistant anyway, so even if they don't respond after you let them dry for a couple of hours, just wait and let it dry completely over 24hours and it should be fixed and clean (just a small note I thought I should add)

why would you even wait this long? he used 70% rubbing alcohol which dries in seconds.

Since the alcohol enters inside the switch, it doesnt have enough airflow to make it dry at the same speed as it would just on an open surface.

I watched several videos on using cmd to install , uninstall, ad/ or updating keyboard drivers, but yours-specifically the part about cleaning it with alcohol-was the only one that actually worked for me.

it works my friend thank you so much. I used a 99% isopropyl alcohol and waited for 30 minutes. At first the keys needed a bit of pressing to get them started but once they suceeded it continued being smooth and no delays or double inputs. Thank you so much, you man are a legend! :)

Thank you for this vid! It worked! Usually don't comment on youtube but wanted to thank op and let others know. My "w" key began to have problems registering for 2 weeks and eventually stopped working while in the middle of an fps game. Tried other methods but nothing worked; unplugged and re-plugged usb, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, cleaned out the keyboard, applied compressed air and rapid clicking, but no tricks seemed to work until I found this video. Followed the tutorial and then let it dry for 30min and now it works perfectly. Great tutorial!

It's working so great! Last night I just do it immediately and everything is working fine. Lucky enough my keyboard switch is hotswap so I remove it from keyboard and it also make it easier for me to dry it so I don't have to wait for a long time. And right now there's no more issue.

This actually worked!! Thanks a plenty!! The 'M' key and the left arrow key on my CoolerMaster CK530 gave me a headache for months.. Previously, I had to deliberately and consciously press the 'M' key and I had to smash on the left arrow key for them to register any response.. It got really bad that I even considered opening and soldering-in some new switches.. I left it to dry for 30 minutes and I used a dryer while pressing those keys repeatedly, and it actually worked..

I had no isopropyl alcohol at hand so I removed the cap and blowed in there while mashing the key, works again. I have to say mechanical keyboards are nice but way less reliable then the old membranes, I never had any problems with membranes of the past but mechanicals have a few issues here and there. The membrane protects the keyboard insides, but with mechanical its pretty exposed.

Hey man you are a saviour, I have a Razer Widow V4 X keyboard I bought only 4 months ago and to be fair only used in the last 3 and my 'e' key was intermittently unresponsive so only 3 out of 4 'e' key keystrokes actually registered. This is like a £114 keyboard and I was so frustrated. But your fix suggestion WORKED !!! plastic new 'perfume bottle' spray from Amazon, Isopropyl Alcohol, spray it with keyboard turned unplugged, gently waggle, flick and press the green micro switch 'e' key up and down, leave 12 hours to dry, come back and the 'e' key works 100%. Many thanks you are a star. Thumbs UP !

Dude thank you so much, it really works!!! I had spilled a cup of coffee on my keyboard and took it apart and washed the side with the Sodder and rinsed the switches and then dried it for about 3 hours with a hair dryer and that worked except two keys would work and then not work just like you showed so I tried your fix and so far it is working fine. FYI never drink around your keyboard or computer LOL

thanks bro really appreciate that this method works but i used spirit as an alcohol used it by cotton(applied by alcohol) spreading on an unresponsive switch for about 5minutes after that left it to dry for an hour .Then when time passed(one hour later) i turned on my keyboard and tested the switch successfully it is running with no issues.I am glad it worked or else I would be worried that the switches are bad itself but they are not.

If it doesn't work at all then you have a 50/50 chance. The switch might be completely dead or just heavily dirty.

Might be expensive, might not work, will smell for years. Other comments said they tried and it worked, others said it didnt work. So I dont guarantee anything. I really recommend to get alcohol from a pharmacy or a dollar store, should not be expensive.

God damn it this worked.. I can't justify a new keyboard now. I used %99.9 IPA, flushed the switch with atomizer loaded with said IPA, drenched it. It was dripping so wet that I got ideas. I flicked it, tapped it hard for a complete hour until my watch-free-for-1-hour limit hit. I stopped flicky-tappin got up, washed my hands and left the keyboard air-dry while I got a 4 hour nap. Got up, put my cable inside the hub and there it is, working perfectly again. Thanks, I guess. I was eyeballin a Yunzi but now... YEah..

Rub it on your hands and see if you feel something sticky or residue. Make sure to have clean hands first and then try it. If you see small balls form its like the moisturizer/aloe vera inside it, so dont use it. If it is soapy dont use it. If it just evaporated into nothing then it should be safe to use. No guarantee. Other people in the comments used it and it worked for them.

I'd say probably not. For the few switches that are working, try switching the place of 1 with a switch that's not working. If the non working switch works in the spot where the working one was and vice-versa, then the problem isnt the switch but the socket itself. Then you can see where the issue originates from.

What if yyou use a 40% alcohool rubbing alcohool and you let it dry ?

40% alcohol would work just fine but I would let it dry overnight just in case, to let all the water evaporate. Also keep it somewhere warm like next to a heater but not so close that it melts.

You can look at the other comments and see what worked. But personally wouldn't recomment anything other than alcohol. Maybe high concentration vodka or perfume.

If still under warranty just return it, otherwise if its hotswappable then you can replace the switches themselves. Warranty tho, return it to where you bought it
