It has very solid gunplay, but the story takes itself a bit too seriously and most of the characters (the supposed "good" guys) are kind of unlikable. That's not to say that it's a bad game, I just expected it to be a lot better than it is. Hopefully there will be improvements on later installments.

I f*n loved TNO! And this was solid but the unlikeable Charakters (and i dont mean the Nazis😅) and most of the uninteresting Levels (New Orleans) killed it a little for me!

Biggest problem I have with this game is just how easy it is to die, you really can't play it as a shooter but as a cover shooter.

I have to disagree for the most part. The gun play is good but many sections are open and you get overwhelmed with enemies as some of your footage show. My biggest issue with this game is the excess of cutscenes. The game could almost go for a movie Oscar. Also I had stutter / performance issues. I hope next time they focus their creativity on making a shooter instead of teaching the world their story.

agreed, also there was no real new game plus so little replay value on top of the little gameplay, hated the upgrade system some made my weapons actually worse and the level design was very meh, loved new order tho.

I feel like Nazis grunts seem more enjoyable characters than main cast, I've got this problem in TNO and TOB, that main characters were rather unlikable in the way they were potrayed and canon fodder seemed more human when you were listening to their chatter while sneaking. I even felt somewhat remorseful slaughtering them.

Jakub Jakubowski I agree, the "enemies" had more personality. I remember in the 1st level of the new order I found a a secret passage through a wall that led to an officer, talking to someone on the phone about his family. I didn't kill him just took the enigma piece and left him be.

1:00-1:15 Fffff that sub level. I can't help myself, but play games on the hardest difficulty offered (to get the most of the experience from a game that I can). That level though was a test of my patience. [Edit] I didn't have any shotgun ammo left through the majority of it (combination of my choices and the auto save)

I also thought the guns sounded a little wimpy in this game... I wish video games would get weapon volume right for once... Firing a weapon is ... well.. its fucking loud. If I can hear bullet casings hitting the ground while I'm firing full auto, there is something wrong... Not the worst game in the reboot trilogy, but TNO wipes the floor with this one. Machine games needs to focus more on the intelligence of their A.I rather than making them all bullet sponges.

When I was watching game walkthroughs it looked like they were trying to push a lot of Doom (2016) style arena type situations into it. Still looks great though and I love the bizarre, gonzo tone of the narrative.

There is one location that isnt seen in campaign. The game is VUlkan only which like DX12 is not working well on current Nvidia generation. AMD has better future tech compatibility ;p Can you do STALKER?

I totally loved *_The New Order_* , and couldn't get into *_The New Colossus_* at all. I didn't believe the characters in anything they said (with the exception of BJ's father bit) and they all felt like puppets to me. Fergus and Grace's fights were particularly artificial. BJ's interactions with Anya were similarly lame. The events of the first game seemed to be totally invalidated. I felt like, “Did I not achieve anything in the last game?” The U-boat hub was confusing to me, and I didn't like moving around it. None of the fights or set pieces were memorable. The story didn't have any pacing and I can't remember anything besides the general story thrust. The dream sequences felt like filler. I don't like immediately being told “None of that was real”, even if I know it's not. Going back to the old locations just made them feel even more like “levels” instead of “places” and made it all feel even more fake. The reasoning for going Venus felt like a BS filler attempt to top the moon from the last game, and was uninspired. If you know anything about Venus, you know how ridiculous walking around on it is. Anyway, I think you get the idea. The whole thing felt like an excuse for more shooting.

This game seemed to deliberately torpedo the storyline in order to prevent further sequels from being made. I still think this game was not nearly as bad as people complain and the fire fights are bad ass

One of my favorite things to do ever since they implemented this system in the second riddick game.. just stand up on my tippy toes shooting in the middle of the room with no cover.. God I love that peak system and I really wish you we would see it again somewhere else, but you know we're not really seeing leaning via thing on the manual side and pretty much anything anymore.. it's such a cool contortion, and God bless him for keeping it manual even if apparently if this had a automated peak system the whole time that I had no idea existed, till I went to go get the achievement for it and realize that you had to use the ads peak which was a joke by comparison to the manual. one thing I'm going to try to do is figure out how to get this but also be able to move at the same time, I suppose maybe with some toggles or something like that like you definitely need some additional real estate on the keyboard to make that work or the mouse maybe.. you could do it with gyro easily, like the head tracking demo as well the one where the guy implemented Half-Life 2 leaning with his head just tilting side to side to lean.. it's all sorts of cool shit you could do that we haven't done because everything has to be exactly the same and games must play themselves when you hit the button otherwise, it's it's too complicated and confusing for people, thanks Halo.

I don't get why so many people call this game left wing propaganda or some shit as if the other games didn't have you kill tons of Nazis. Sadly never finished it because it runs like crap on my PC and due to Vulkan I had issues with the in game text getting fucked up. A real shame since I really enjoyed the levels I was able to play and never reached the part where you fight the KKK

Loved this game. Best Wolfenstein to date, despite a few issues. All it really needed was the ability to carry the heavy weapons as part of the inventory. This would make the more situational ones more viable and also allow for high end ammo management like Wolf 2009 or RTCW. I also appreciated the lack of gimmicks which new order suffered from. These included; Being forced to slide in certain areas Excessively boring qte like prologue or certain sections. No forced stealth missions No awkward melee combat sections. No cheap sections eg bridge where Nazis just shot the player through smoke The game NEVER permenantly takes away your guns and ammo. Instant killed by qte like sequences such as panzerhund. Far less scripted sequences. In colossus, these occurred mostly prior to the main level. A far better engine, especially particles and lighting model. A more varied story theme. It's not only brutally depressing but also hillarious or plain wierd at times. Unfortunately the latest patch absolutely destoryed my performance with frequent crashes and gfx glitches. Shame.

First one was one of the best shooters of last gen. This one was like wtf the story sucked and was consulated. Then it got all political and tried to be over the top and failed. The whole flashbacks were disturbing and written by someone projecting. Level design and location variety were a super downgrade and what really pissed me off is an over reliance on putting Commanders in every room, and you always get alarms and more reinforcements. And let’s not forgot the DLC was reused assets and unused parts of levels from main game.

Good gameplay, but the story just reeked of SJW bullshit with it's writing. You don't notice it at first, but as it goes on it just became more blatant. Particularly with Grace. She was annoying, racist, and just ticked every crazy black lady stereotype in the book. Her writing was just really cringey and she didn't sit well with me. Though it may have been intentional as one of the characters do get fed up with her at one point. Caroline was a lot more likable in my opinion. Not to mention, the game seems like it doesn't know what tone it wants. It's like it's trying to further explore an oppressive regime that holds a tight grip on the world that was built in the new order. But then it shifts into this weird and random tone that tries too hard to be funny. It just didn't mix well as opposed to the previous games.

It has a very inconsistent tone, at one point it fleshes out B.J's backstory and then it's juxtaposed with someone charging out of the toilet as B.J. and Anya argue about his mortality. This isn't much of a deal breaker for me, but the writing seems to be at odds with itself.
