Thanks for this recent review. Just liked this video too. I just finished Doom on PC at 21:9, and i absolutely loved it. I own these Wolfenstein games plus part 2 for ps4, but i never got around to playing them. I became a PC gamer earlier this year, and now after beating Doom i feel like jumping straight to these games. Looking for a good PC deal at the moment.

The mechanic of having to hit a button to pick up health or ammo when you need tons of both was really annoying

I love your videos , been binging a bunch of them since yesterday but I noticed you include some final cutscenes of the game at the end of your videos, which could be a give away. I mean they are ok for demonstrating the story of a game or just giving thoughts on the story or one particular aspect of the game, but you should try and avoid these in your review videos as it could be a spoiler, like how it was in Doom 2016's review, or just spoiling a climactic moment in a game, like in this one, even if it isn't exactly a spoiler. That final cutscene in this video was goosebumps inducing when I played the game, and I think that scene should've been left for the players to experience. Showing a tiny moment like that music sequence in Old Blood is fine, but the ending was pretty much the entire final cutscene. My constructive criticism.

The series started with Castle Wolfenstein :P not WOlfenstein 3D. The first or one of the first Stealth games. I like to see someone else like the series almost as much as I.

Alexander Yordanov Yeah but it’s not an FPS..so while the original Castle Wolfenstein introduces the series’ setting, Wolfenstein 3D showcased what the series would be renowned for for decades. “Grabbing guns and killing Nazis!”

You grab guns and kill Nazis in Castle Wolfenstein too. Wolfenstein 3D popularized a genre, Castle Wolfenstein actually made a genre and set the thematic and artistic tones for a series.

I started Old Blood on my old Win7 install but when I upgraded to Win10 I could no longer run the game for some reason. It just refuses to run. Anyone had a similar issue?

InAUGral I would try re installing the game, steam and other programs. Do other games work? If not try re installing windows

When it comes to the graphical issues, there's a way to set up a 1 gig cache file on your C drive that helps with the texture pop ins, not sure if it would help the frame stutters. This works on Rage too, I wonder if you could still do it with Doom 2016, although that thing runs just fine as it. steamcommunity.com/app/201810/discussions/0/558756256522417663/

The in game sound is really the only thing I don't like about this game. Specifically the speech and gun volume are both far too quiet. Compared to something like battlefield the sound is IMO pathetic compared to the rest of the package and I feel it really does hurt the game. You really did a another quality review here as always. I really enjoys your content and think that you deserve a shoutout or something because more people would love these reviews if they saw them.

I really like the game but i wish there was an option to reduce the size of the weapons model. Especially when dual wielding, half of the screen is almost cover :/ Changinf Fov do not change the size of weapons model like early Quake games.

You're performance issues are vram related. I know this because when I build my new pc I used my old 8gbs of ddr3 memory from my old rig and experienced the same thing. Upon seeing that I order 16gbs of ddr4 sticks problem solved. In case you're wondering I have a gtx 1080 ti, i7 6700k , 16gbs of ddr4.

I really like the gun-play of the new Wolfenstein games, but I personally feel that the stories are complete shit. Gone are the supernatural elements and in their place is a more politically correct narrative, which blows, imho. Still decent games, Its just disappointing that the supernatural elements are MIA.

You would of thought they would of patched this game so you can just automatically pick up the hp and amour this was one of the reason why i stop playing it plus the game felt laggey for me even on a 3080 believe it or not i think it's due to the old engine they went with this game

I admit, I find TNO and TOB to be highly overrated. The games both feel so "been there, done that," being nothing more than a "kill the Nazis!" game with the particular feel of other Starbreeze games (as MachineGames is made up primarily of former Starbreeze developers). It wants to play like an old-school shooter, but doesn't have the level design or pacing for it. It wants to be cool and "adult," with it's hilariously out-of-place sex scenes and depressing tone, but throws it out the window with the hyper-edgy sadism that permeates every single of shooting and stabbing that you do (seriously, I think the developers are fucking disturbed), and the "lol so kewl!" moments like going to the moon, which it then refuses to play seriously (I seem to recall BJ outright making a comment about how impressed he is that he's on the moon, like he's an excitable child, rather than a man on a mission). It's a game with gunplay that can't match up to something like, say, FEAR, with a feel that is more reminscent of Starbreeze's games than Wolfenstein, with really stupid, cartoon characters, but not in the self-aware, pulpy way previous games had, and with a constant desire to be depressing and outright sadistic to the point of just making the game unpleasant to play. It's not even like it tells a good story, because it really doesn't. It's really very paint-by-numbers for such a story. I remember sort of liking it when I first started playing it, but eventually ended up having to force myself to finish it. I forced myself through TOB. And as time's gone on, I find my thoughts on this game growing increasingly negative, not helped especially by the fact that TNC looks to be the same, stupid thing. We went from having Wolf2009, one of my favourite shooters and I think a stellar entry in the series, understanding what Wolfenstein's tone was always meant to be... to this, which feels like Wolfenstein in name only. Slap some names around the place, like Deathshead, Caroline Becker, BJ Blazkowicz, Nazis... and bam, everyone just goes along with it. *sigh* /end rant

I feel that everyone' opinions on games as valid so long as they're honest and come from experience, so I can't fault you for thinking what you do. However, looking at your take I don't understand how two people can play the same game and come to such drastically different conclusions. I loved TNO, thought TOB was trying a bit too hard to challenge you but was otherwise fun, but hated 2009.

While I disagree that Wolfenstein The New Order is bad and doesn’t feel Wolfenstein-ish, as the game is still quite pulpy despite the darker tone, I do agree that Wolfenstein 2009 was better. Though with me, it was mainly because 2009 interrupted me less often with cutscenes and scripted events as well has having better enemy and weapon variety due to an emphasis on both the paranormal and superscience as opposed to purely superscience in TNO. The only superweapon you get in TNO is the Laserkraftwerk, which is badass, especially fully upgraded, but in 2009, practically half your arsenal was heavy weapons that all were extremely fun to use. I miss the Tesla Gun and Particle Cannon. Still, I loved TNO for what it was, though it’s definitely still not my favorite in the series.
