One strategic nuance: not only do you no longer have access to the scoring cards, but in addition to gaining the extra banner, you no longer have that card gumming up your deck if you don’t want to be playing it.

Hi Paul, at 26:30 when you’re talking about blessings I’m not quite sure what you mean by a full set. Do you simply obtain the reward on top each time you move a blessing marker across? 😊
@stephendampier45602 ай бұрын
I have literally come in to ask the same question! The rule book I don’t think is clear on the blessings at all and another famous rule teach channel says you only get bonus when all 3 in one column. That might even be a house rule for me as makes much more sense but rule book says about get the bonus under the left most column…. What’s difference between one set and two sets ?
@stephendampier45602 ай бұрын
I really need some clarification on the blessing track, it doesn’t make sense to me from the video or the rule book
@GamingRulesVideos2 ай бұрын
Let me know what your question is and I will try to answer it.
@stephendampier45602 ай бұрын
@@GamingRulesVideos thanks for the swift reply! Love the content as always The rule book says… “When a player has a full set of Blessings (1 of each), they gain the column bonus above their left-most Blessing. In this example, gaining 1 more Purple Blessing would create this player's first set. They would gain 1 movement on the Altar Track immediately. Notice that all 3 Blessings do not need to be in the same column at the same time in order to gain a column bonus.” One set is two blessings in one column? That means in the example I get the first column bonus as that is where the left most blessing is if I moved again the purple and now one is left under the first column and the two are in the next do I get the first bonus again (movement on the altar track) because that is where my left most blessing is because one remains in that column? Then if I move again and now all three in one column the left most blessing is just any of the 3 as they are all level and in second column so I take that bonus. If I then move say the red now to column 3 would I take column 2 bonus again because as the rule book says I gain the bonus above the left most blessing which would be the two left behind?
@GamingRulesVideos2 ай бұрын
@@stephendampier4560 One "set" is 1 of each type of blessing. In the example in the rulebook, if the purple marker moves one space to the right, you now have 1 SET. You actually have 2 yellow, 1 purple, and 1 red, but that is 1 full set. So you get the reward above the "1" column. If you then move the purple marker again, you get nothing, because then you have 2, 2, 1. You still only have ONE full set. But then if you get another red blessing, you then have TWO full sets, so you would get the bonus at the top of column 2.
@stephendampier45602 ай бұрын
@@GamingRulesVideos thanks for the clarification, that makes more sense. Just to clarify then, my understanding from your explanation and examples would mean that to get the column bonus 3 which is two food all 3 blessing markers would now need to move into the 3rd column to get the bonus ? Does the ‘left-most blessing’ only apply in the early movements on the track or can I still make sets further up the track if blessing markers are not in the same column? For example, if I had all 3 in column 3 then the yellow moved to 5 and then the other two moved into four, when the red one entered column 4 I would then get that bonus? I am glad you have taught as the rule book says even if the rule seems fiddly and not explained well in the rule book, I have seen some of your competitors teach this by saying you only get the bonus when all 3 are in a column
@GamingRulesVideos2 ай бұрын
@@stephendampier4560 I'm happy to help, but I am sure you you understand it fully. If, for example, you have 6 yellow, 6 purple, and 2 red - you have two sets. If you then gain a 3rd red, you now have 3 sets. At that point, you get the bonus shown at the top of column 3 (which is 2 food). I think you understand that part. But it is the "leftmost blessing" that I think is confusing you - and I will try to help. The "leftmost blessing" is simply the blessing which is the farthest to the left. So, in the example above, if you have 6 / 6 / 3, then the red 3 is the leftmost blessing. If you then gain another red blessing, you now have 6 / 6 / 4. You now have 4 sets. The leftmost blessing is still the red one (on 4), so you get the bonus at the top of column 4. Hope that helps.

Game looks solid but really not at all in the mood for anything related to Israel these days.
@hunterwoolum21156 ай бұрын
Hey, if it helps I think the story is really salient for today! It's essentially about how an exiled Jewish population returns to the Holy Land with the hope of restoring what they lost, only to reject the Jewish population that has been living there the entire time. They build walls to keep the indigenous Jewish people out, and declare that this indigenous Jewish population aren't even really Jewish because they haven't followed the law correctly (as determined by the exiled Jewish population). But these efforts to ostracize the indigenous Jewish population fail. The book ends with the leader of the formerly exiled Jewish population, Nehemiah, asserting his righteousness before God by outlining all the ways in which he *tried* to separate the "true" Jewish people from the "false." But the reader is left with the distinct impression that only the priests and the Levites can live up to Nehemiah's standards, and that this weeding out of the unrighteous has produced an Israel greatly diminished from what it once was. So not nice if you're looking for escapism, but I would argue that it's the Biblical story we most need to be telling right now. Although I can't really say if this game captures the story's spirit. Feels kind of like it takes the "Zerubbabel, Ezra, and Nehemiah must restore the Holy Land" thing without the ambiguity and discomfort present in the original story.
