Thanks a lot for the Robot placement explanation, this really helped me a lot. I feel the rule book doesn't explain this very well, unfortunately, and I just winged it the first time I introduced the robots.

So-Place a WHITE die in a Robot Room still moves the Alien down accordingly, then PAY the energy to produce the BLUE die which is then placed (exhausted) in an excavated Room (NO Alien advance) matching the value of the white Robot Room die. Then, NEXT round use that BLUE die according to the Room, reduce the die value by one, and exhaust the die. (I'm basiucally thinking out loud, but I think that's close..🙂

So I sort of unthinkingly unpacked everything and now all the scenarios are mixed together. How do I know which scenarios to use for which chapters? My scenario cards have stars in the top left corner, but that's about it, I don't see numbers or anything.
@stevemanser.3 жыл бұрын
You've probably found this out already... but there are tiny numbers in circles in the top left of each piece, to solve this exact issue... and allow for reorganisation if needed. The base stuff has a circle with a dot.

Can you use the campaign cities in order to play a not campaign game afterwards? Or there are special rules that only makes sense in tha campaign?
@Calistake0474 жыл бұрын
I might be wrong, but I think all the content you get in the box is fully compatible with non-campaign games, if you do not wish to or you have finished playing through that.

Absolutely 100% yes. I would recommend the campaign first though so you get a bit of a surprise, but every city is playable with just the base rules.

It works in the room, just like a normal die. If you activate it, rotate it, then reduce it by 1

I think the video did not make it clear, the dice used to build the robot still makes the aliens go down the board. It is the newly placed blue die that does not trigger the aliens again on that column. I was confused by this after watching

I thought the same. Your use of the word ‘destroyed’ here, when elsewhere it merely says ‘removed’, gives the removal a more permanent sense.

Thanks for this extended play through and explanation. I had two questions pertaining to the regular game play, not the campaign. 1. In looking at the other cities, you mention a benefit that is listed on the board. For Washington DC however, I'm not sure how this is a benefit. It states "On the first roll of each round, set one of the white dice to 6 instead of rolling it". Although you sometimes want a six, as the game progresses, higher rolls are less desirable. I would see this as a disadvantage as the game moves on. Having to do this each round changes the randomness of the game, but I'm not sure it is a benefit. Am I missing something here? 2. About the Robots, based on your video here, it looks like you have to use a white die in the Robot Rooms. First you roll a white die, place it in a robot room, place a blue die in any room of your choice matching the number you rolled on the white die, exhaust the blue die immediately, then remove the white die from the robot room. Then do you simply proceed with the rest of the die placement? If the blue die does not cause enemy ships to move and is exhausted immediately, is it correct to say that essentially it does nothing for you on the round you place it, you can only take advantage of it in future rounds? Thanks again!
@GamingRulesVideos3 жыл бұрын
1. Having a guaranteed die set to a 6 is definitely a benefit IMO. But yes, in certain situations, I guess it wouldn't be, but high dice are always better, even later in the game because you still need more of everything. 2. You do not have to use a white dice in a robot room. You can use either dice. There is no difference between white and grey when activating the room. Some clarifications: You place a new robot equal to the room value, NOT the value on the dice used to build the robot. i.e. If you place a 5 in a -1 robot room, it builds a value 4 robot. The new robot comes into play exhausted - simply meaning you cannot use it the same turn. But then you say "do you simply carry on with dice placement". So - to clarify, you place ALL of your dice first, THEN you activate them, you do not place, activate, place, activate, etc. The only thing that happens immediately when you place dice is the alien ships move. So yeah, the robot cannot be activated on the turn you build it.

One more question: is the robot placed during the dice phase(the moment the dice is placed) or the room phase?

You only said that the installing if the robit doesn't cause them to move rhe ships, but what about every round after? It's nit written at all in the rules .
@GamingRulesVideos3 жыл бұрын
It's not in the rules because it doesn't happen :) Only placing a die in a room causes the alien ships to move. Robots do not cause alien ships to move at all.
