"... and if there's still a tie, play again". Love it! Nice one Paul... A tough game to do a rules explainer for.

There isn't another tie breaker in the rulebook, so I asked Vital, and he said "play again" :)

Paul, as it is always with your how-to-play videos: they are brilliant, accurate, and follow a very clear structure. Thank you so much for this nice video. Being taught in such a fantastic way has been a real pleasure. I enjoyed watching the video. All the best from Germany, Berlin. Frank

I greatly appreciate the walk-through as what constitutes a "Stone Age" round 1 is not 100% clear in the rulebook. I've played this 3-4 times now and have to struggle through that part each time. I'm finally writing it down to reference later, but your video is a great and thorough walk-through! Thank you!
@GamingRulesVideos2 ай бұрын
Yeah, I found that part of the ruleook very unclear too. As did many who have posted on BGG. This is why I split it into "Early Stone Age" and "Late Stone Age" as they are two separate parts of the game, but called the same in the rulebook.

This looks like an absolute beast of a game, even by Lacerda standards. This video goes a *long* way towards making it easier to get into this!

As always an excellent how to play video covering everything you need to know on a highly complex game.
@nkorppi7 ай бұрын
There is a slight mistake in the video. In a two player game setup, the A to D stacks have three tiles, exactly as in the three player game (the dummy player counts as a player for counting number of players). In other words, there is no difference between two and three players in this aspect. See two player rules section in the rulebook.

The script was checked by the designer and the developers. The final video was checked by the designer and the developers. That's all I can say really. There was discussion about this yesterday on the Discord server and I was told that my video is correct.
@nkorppi7 ай бұрын
That's fair... But two player rules (with dummy player) were not covered. So I'm assuming the rules are correct as presented if and only if not using a dummy player (although that might not be recommended for two players). Very good video!
@GamingRulesVideos7 ай бұрын
@@nkorppi Keep an eye out for the official FAQ and Errata as I think this will be covered there. I know there was a lot of discussion about it yesterday as a lot of people think there is no actual "2-player" setup, but I was told my video was ok - so... who knows
@GamingRulesVideos7 ай бұрын
Correction - it seems you are correct. It does say in the 2-player rules that Chronos counts as a player and you DO use 3 tiles. Thanks for highlighting this. It's a shame this wasn't spotted before the video went live, but it is what it is.
@nkorppi7 ай бұрын
No problem! I don't blame you (or anyone in particular). There are other two player rules differences that were not covered either : for example joining an action space with another player's season pillar (not merely the Epoch pillar) gives the other player an influence in the 2p game. But the video is a huge achievement anyway. I can see that it will have taken a Lot of work to get it to this level of awesome. For 3 or 4 player multiplayer games, it's near-perfect. For two players, the rulebook only needs a tiny bit of consulting.

Great work as always. The rulebook, solo rules and player aids here are truly not up to normal Vital/EGG standards, unfortunately, but this video is a lifesaver.

Thanks for another fantastic How to Play video! Neat to see Vital's take on a civ game - well not totally a civ game but with some elements of one. I don't usually go for his games because they are usually so complex that my head explodes or the theme doesn't quite appeal to me, but this one looks very cool.

Another clarification : In choosing "the" wealth tile, it need not be the topmost tile. It can be any in the stack (letters E to G have multiple options). You also cannot own two of the same letter (even if they are different).

Funny -- we played for the first time on May 4th. Some of us watched the Heavy Cardboard video (which IMHO is quite good), We did forget to remove the unchosen idea after setup until it was too late to rewind. I don't think we made any other major mistakes, but its possible we did and I didn't notice/don't remember. Thanks for video
