One nice little detail I saw in the game is that if you were to use up all the ammo for a weapon during a fight; Issac would begin to panic and curse to himself. Like what most of us would do in that given situation

One really neat detail that I would've put as a win is they did a unique dialog change depending on how low your HP is and its noticeable in Cutscenes. If your full HP, then you sound like normal. But if your HP is in Yellow or Red where it's most noticeable, Isacc's voice actually sounds strained and weak to match how hurt and tired he is! It's yet another amazing detail of the Dead Space remake that just makes it absolutely amazing!
@cristianlopez_8486 Жыл бұрын
Same thing happens if you're running around excessively. Isaac sounds audibly exerted and panting when going into dialog from that state.

Another detail is depending on how long an enemy takes to fight, how much damage they did to you, if you continually stomp on them, Isaac starts swearing at it as he's stomping on it. Perfect catharsis when dealing with Brutes or rooms where you have to fight a bunch of Necromorphs.

@Lord_Deimos Жыл бұрын
The original Dead Space holds up so well it didn't need a remake but the attention to detail they've put into it is amazing. Gunner Wright did several different takes on the dialogue according to the amount of health you have, frost accumulating on Isaac's suit while in vacuum and melting once you exit, fog being manipulated whenever something moves, Isaac cursing when out of ammo etc. Dead Space belongs to the best remakes ever made along with Resident Evil and I hope they do one for DS2.

I really love how they corrected the look of Nicole, she looks older, aged and experienced. As a SENIOR medical officer, she would have years of on hands training, not someone who’s in there early thirties (like she looked in the OG game) would have. She looks like a tired, aged doctor, and I love it.

So for those who dont know how the marker works it essentially puts ur mind under massive subtle psychological oressure attacking any weakpoint it finds slowly until it has complete control of u mentally. You can see throughout the game that isaac becomes more mentally unstable bit by bit and less logical as time goes on due to the horrors hes witnessing until nicole shows up and gives the marker the perfect access into his brain. The marker acts as an enabler as long as it gets what it wants
@nicholascordero6600 Жыл бұрын

Fun fact about the brutes: you can beat them with 0 resource usage. Strafe under their left arm and forward while facing them when they charge, with good timing and angles you can get behind them without taking damage or using stasis. And I melee'd one to death in NG+ with my Pusle Rifle, on hard difficulty. Took me 3 tries. You can literally off them with no ammo, health or stasis if you know what you are doing and pull off some disrespectful jukes. The only enemies you can't melee to death are bosses and wall guardians.

You missed out that they designed an audio system that would accurate bounce sound through corridors and have it damened through walls, simultaneously. So if something was on the otherside of a wall, but there was also a way to it via corridor you will hear the sound from the opening to it, but also the muffled sound through the wall. It makes the sound design feel so much more real, and also why it's super easy to miss. Your brain expects this kind of sound behaviour. So it's so natural that you'll likely never conciously recognise it.

One of my favorite parts about the RIG is that _everything_ is diegetic. If you swing your camera around while a video from one of the crew is playing or you're in your inventory, the pop-up doesn't move with the camera. Because the menu is for Issac, not our ethereal ghost camera.

"Get in, get out, simple repair mission." Even if you've never played Dead Space before, anyone genre-savvy enough is going to know going in that it won't be anywhere close to that simple. Also, 'I'm all out of good ideas, so guess what's left' is just the perfect way to describe every decision and plan you have to make through the entire trilogy.

I always thought Issac couldn't bring himself to finish the video, and when he was finally able to watch it he was able to shake off a large portion of the Marker's influence, but not all of it. It's interesting to hear what others think of that scene, with you saying that Issac had already seen Nicole's passing.

The one thing I wish they did better was actually give Chen a little more to do. I get he’s a throwaway character but Hammond definitely didn’t act like he was, so if they already changed some of the story bears why not give Chen a little longer of a shelf life- have him come up with a few ideas, help us out here and there, stick around with Hammond a bit etc etc, it makes all of his mentions pull at our heartstrings a little bit better and it would’ve been such a bigger deal when we had to encounter what Chen eventually becomes

I absolutely love this game, but the only minor negative that I have is the ending scare. It’s setup is way less terrifying. With the remake version having a way more lit room with her just on the chair and then the jumpscare happens. While the OG, the room is a lot darker and Nicole hides behind the arm chair part of passenger seat then pounces. But I’ll like to know what you guys think?
@kinorris1709 Жыл бұрын
The jumpscare is the weakest part of the remake, something that the original definately does better (having played DS1, 2, 3 and remake all the way through, it's arguably the weakest jumpscare in the whole series). But the alternate NG+ ending makes up for it somewhat because we can see Issac's degreaded mental state very well throughout the final mission if you've done what is needed to unlock said alternate ending. As a massive fan of the OG, I say that aside from a few forgivable missteps, DSR is a worthy addition to the franchise, and I genuinely hope that if they can keep up this level of quality, that they continue with a remake of the whole story.
@Finmale04 Жыл бұрын
