Regarding comfort - don't do what I did, and pick The Climb as your very first VR game, and then try to play it while standing. I already don't do great with heights, got slightly motion-sick while climbing, accidentally flexed my hands, which of course let go of the cliff face and I plummeted. When I hit the ground, my legs basically turned to water, I had to rip the headset off and nearly vomited. Second try was Walkabout Mini-Golf, which was waaaaaay easier to handle.

Started with Quest 2 and moved to Quest 3, and although I do enjoy playing games, I sometimes simply don't have the energy to do so. Yet, I find myself watching movies or TV programs w/ my headset pretty much everyday. Despite having a big screen in living and bed rooms, I still find myself enjoy laying down and watching on the Quest. (I use SkyBox VR to view, streaming from laptop.) So, if you are into watching movies or TV, I highly recommend the Quest 3. Thanks for the videos, as always, Matteo! Keep up the great work!

The tip about GETTING OUT when you feel off is a real good one. Ive been playing portal 2 in vr using a mod, but source is not meant for vr so it doesnt work the best. Gives me MAJOR motion sickness and im usually pretty resilient, i be doing that smooth turning smooth locomotion with no vignettes completely fine, but this one utterly kills me. Made my heart feel like it was under a lot of pressure. if i didnt take regular breaks idk how id be feeling.

I recommend picking up some knuckle straps so you can let gp of the controller while playing and it will not fall from your hands. It’s an inexpensive upgrade but makes a big difference. The fairly basic ones offered by Meta have the benefit of not covering the battery door and also work with their charging dock, but there are much cheaper versions out there.

I totally agree with the Kiwi battery strap being way better. I originally had an official battery strap for my quest 2 that was horrible as compared to the kiwi brand at twice the cost. When I got my Quest 3 I ordered one as soon as Kiwi had them available. I have absolutely zero complaints.

Great video. I was 66 in 2016 when i enjoyed the Samsung gear VR and I do miss it. I switched to a s21 ultra phone and haven't used VR since as the Gear VR became useless when Meta bought out Oculus. I enjoyed the Oculus games. If I get the s3 can I do it and have nothing to do with Facebook, not even have an account as I despise the product? Thanks

New to VR here. I am looking into this for a stroke victim friend. He is bedridden and has only the use of his left arm/hand. He can also move his head/neck. Movement; of course he cannot walk, can VR/Gaming gear be rigged to actuate movement by his head's movement? Would a joystick be an option? I would really like to give him the sensation of movement. Also, interaction with images through VR with his left hand/arm and head. Asking for ideas and guidance, Thanks!

I had the Oculus Rift back in 2016 (CV1 I think is what people called it) and was excited to play Adr1ft which had you floating around a space station. I played it several times, but twice I felt bad enough that I had to lay down and sleep off the effects. That was it for me and that headset. So I certainly know the effects of trying to use a joystick to move. I tried locomotion movement with Resident Evil 4 and quickly switched to the teleporting option because my head did not like that kind of movement. Thanks for the tips! I’m hoping my head eventually gets used to the locomotion style, but the teleport option seems to work well for avoiding motion sickness. If you do start feeling a little off and have been teleporting quickly, just slow down how quickly you are teleporting and your head may go back to normal.

I had to quit flight training because of motion sickness. But I just worked through VR little by little and my brain learned what to do. Had some sickness but broke through the other side and now I can roll a TIE fighter 20 times and no discomfort. So worth it and way better than having to teleport or avoid driving and flying games.

Back to the PSVR2 pessimism are we? Nevermind the fact that every cross platform game is gonna look, perform and feel better on the PSVR2, whether that’s through PS5 or via a PC. I feel really enthusiastic about VR in general, we have killer titles on the way across the headsets. I’m looking forward to Arkham too, though it’s a shame that’s all I’m looking forward to playing on a Quest.
@Gamingwithmatteo3112 ай бұрын
@christophermorton914 my stance has never changed. Sony is not investing into the psvr2. The adapter was to sell of excess stock, end of story. Psvr2 is not profitable for them
@ilikestuff82182 ай бұрын
first of all, you're not 100% sure about the look because while the graphics is better, PSVR2 only has fresnel lenses and have mura issues while Quest 3 has pancake lenses. second, feeling better is also debatable because again, pancake lenses, PSVR2 is also heavier and wired forcing you to use artificial turning, artificial turning not only breaks immersion, it also makes you more motion sick than just turning with your body. lastly, let's say you're right, what's the point of that when the exclusives on PSVR2 suck?
@christophermorton9142 ай бұрын
@@Gamingwithmatteo311haha reps at Sony are on record that PSVR2 was being developed for use on PC early on. Your lack of investment point makes no sense seeing as they developed and created the damn thing, as well as funded lots of games for it, including paying millions of dollars for RE8. As a Quest 3 and PS5 owner who also uses PCVR, I just find your points always so disengenuous. Quest 3 shills claim Quest is great because it can be used with PC then when PSVR2 does it, it’s to “get rid of excess stock”.
@christophermorton9142 ай бұрын
@@ilikestuff8218lol you think PSVR2’s heavier? Try wearing a Quest 3 with the 3rd party mods to make it comfortable and then the batteries to make it actually usable for longer than an hour. And I own games on both platforms because of them being released at different times or being offered for free and every single one of them plays and feels better on a PSVR2. Look at Into the Radius. And the PSVR2 exclusives suck? Lol okay mate. All we’ve got on standalone Quest 3 is Asgards Wrath 2, the commercial flop of AC Odyssey and Arkham next week. Any oculus exclusives can be used on PC with a PSVR2 now and hate to break it to ya, that’s the best of the headsets to use for Lone Echo 1 and 2 👍

3rd party head strap is an ABSOLUTE ESSENTIAL. Part of the reason Quest headsets are so cheap because they include NONE of the comfort features more expensive headsets have. It does however, allow you to build up your device over time in smaller purchases and get into VR sooner, rather than having to save to drop $1000 on a more comfortable headset with arguably less features and software.

I only one don't Recommend is p c v r Unless you have A PC then you got three Options .I do agree if you don't have ps5 or don't want play new first or 3rd party flat games play vr for only the games and play both flat and vr go with Psvr2 if like it all go q3s or q3 Max mustered sold more on Psvr2 than Meta. I think vr needs three platforms more room to grow. i dont know if Psvr3 uses Psvr2 on ps6. i do think the meta is more focused on vr and pushing the Boundary they still need to work on things while Playstation is accessories or another way to play games, still good three way to play ps5, vr then if want PlayStation portal to have the handheld Experience so you can play game while watching tv if q3s then you got everything but a pc or a switch but family might have one
